University Judged the second day events Adzap and
Paper Presentation. Mrs.Vani Sree-HoD Department of
BBA and Mrs.Minothi Titus-Asst.Professor, Dept. of Com-
merce, Annai Violet College judged the Shortfilm in the
afternoon session. Mr.Prakash Subramania, Research Assistant from Global
Theoretical Research, Chennai was the Chief guest for Valedictory. Prizes with certificates and a gift voucher of worth Rs.5000/- from CADD centre, Mylapore were
given to the students and overall trophy was won by D.G.
Vaishnav college.
Department of Computer Science and Computer Ap-plication conducted two days National Symposium Vio
-Tech 2K18 on 15th and 16th February 2018. 176 stu-
dents from 21 colleges participated in various events.
Symposium was inaugurated by Dr.S.Mary Vennila, Professor, Department of Computer Science, Presi-
dency College, in the presence of Principal Dr.Kamala
BalaKrishnan,Vice-Principal Mrs.Japhia Solo-mon,Mrs.S.Meenakshi-Head Dept. of Computer Appli-
cation & PG and Dr.Prema Kirubakaran-Head Depart-
ment of Computer Science.
NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM - VIO - TECH 2018
Chief Guest briefed on cyber security, internet threats and advised on the safety usage of
internet. In the afternoon session Tech talk on ―Current trends in Technology‖,was presented by Mr.P.S.Vignesh Kumar from Orient Bell Ltd., New Delhi. Students were given tasks and the best performers were honored by gifting them
with books to inculcate the habit of reading. Events like quiz, debugging and gaming was conducted on the first day.

Microbiology department organized seminar
on 27.09.2017 about ―SCOPE OF MICROBI-
OLOGY‖. The resource person was Dr. K.
Krishna Prema, Head, Dept of Microbiology,
Ethiriraj College for women.
Department of Biochemistry organised a
seminar on the topic ―Bioinstrumentation -
Microbial Analysis‖ on 28/11/17. Resource

Computer Science Department organized a Technical Seminar on 8th September 2017 in
the topic of ―Normalization in Big Data‖, at
10.30 am. Chief Guest: Dr. V. R. Elangovan, Associate Professor, AM Jain College, Chennai.

Final year students from department of Com-
puter Science visited ―HELLO FM” on
21/09/2017 for Industrial visit. Students were
given a demo on audio vault, Music mixer, ad
jammer softwares by RJ Kumudha, RJ KK, RJ
Deepa Venkat and networking by Mr Senthil.
First year students from department of Com-
puter Science conducted a weekly activity on
―CONNEXIONS ON GUESS THE WORD‖ on
07/08/2017. Guest: Dr. Vasanth Sakthivel, As-
sistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry.
The students are enthusiastically participated.
Dept of Computer Applications in association
with ICT academy organized a 2 days FDP on ―R Programming‖ on 25 & 26 Sept 2017. 12 faculties from our college and 20 faculties from other Arts & science, Engineering colleges participated
in the FDP. Resource Person: Mr. Ravichandran, Senior Technical Trainer from ICT academy.
Department of Computer Applications , Cluster club organized a seminar on 31st August 2017
on the Topic ―Recent Trends and Challenges
in Information Technology‖. Dr. G. Suseen-
dran, Associate Professor, School of Comput-
ing Science, Vels university, Chennai , was the
Resource person.
First year students from department of Com-
puter Applications conducted a weekly activity
on ―HARDWARE ASSEMBLING‖ on 01/07/2017.
Guest: Mr. Vinoth A, Assistant Professor, De-
partment of Computer Science. The Session was
useful to the students.
Activities - Department of Mathematics - Multi - π CLUB - 2017
Multi-π club organized a seminar on the topic
―Applications of Graph Theory‖ on 28th Sep-
tember 2017. The Chief Guest: Dr. K.Thirusangu,
Associate Professor, S.I.V.E.T College.
Dept of Mathematics has organized
―MATHEMATICAL MODELS PRESENTATIONS”. Students enthusiastically participated and pre-
sented model. The chief guest: Dr. Kamala
Balalkrishnan, Principal and Mrs. Japhia Solo-
mon, Vice Principal of Annai Violet Arts and Scince College.
Multi-π club Organized a Seminar on the topic
―Basic Analysis‖ on 12th February 2018. Chief
Guest: Mr. Ramesh kumar, Assistant Professor,
Sree Sastha Engineering College, Chennai. The
students actively participated.

VIO-SCIENCE EXPO 2018
Science Departments organized a Science exhibition ―VIO-SCIENCE EXPO 2018‖ on 5th
January 2018 at 10.30 a.m., in the college premises. The Expo was inaugurated by the Chief guest Mr.G.Ulaganathan, Head-Department of Computer Science, Alpha Arts & Sci-ence College, Chennai . Students from various Schools participated in the event and the title ―YOUNG SCIENTIST
Award‖ was given to Bharatwaj of SBOA School, Annanagar, and Chennai for the model Nuclear waste disposal.
Smart City model by Dhanush Kanna and Vaideeswaran of Nathella Vidhyodaya, Ambat-
tur won the first place with a cash award of Rs.6,000 was given. Traffic Signal modula-tion based on Robotics techniques by S.D.Aditya Sai and N.Niteesh of TI MHSS, Ambat-
tur, Chennai won the second prize, with a cash award of Rs.4,000 and Third prize was
won by Daniel F and Shyam Sundar D of Vathsalaya MHSS,Kolathur,Chennai for Auto-matic Rest Room with a cash award of Rs.3,000.
A Special Prize for the model LPG Leakage detection and Se-
curity breach system was given to Ishrath Basheera and Vis-hal.T of Annai Violet International School, Ambattur, Chennai, with a cash award of Rs.2,000.Science Expo was Co-ordinated
by Mrs.S.Meenakshi,HOD-BSC Computer Science and Mrs. Benita
Bebe,Asst.Prof.,Dept. Of Microbiology.
