| Virginia Marie Yazzie, a resident of Shiprock, N.M., and a foriner longtime resident of Cortez, passed away at her residence in Shiprock on Nov. 30, 1999. She was 64. 7 Funeral services are planned for Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Cortez LDS Church, located at 1700 East Empire. Bishop Robert Lanier will officiate. T , Mrs. Yazzie was born to Nava and Grace John on J u n e 5, 1935. in Shiprock. She lived most of her life in Cortez. Mrs. Yazzie worked for several restaurants in our area as a prep cook, including the Ramada Inn, the Anasazi and Saggy's. She enjoyed her work very much. Virginia had an interest in "thrift shopping," working on her farm, taking tips, enjoying all animals, especially her dogs and cats. She loved her grandchildren, and all little children. Mrs. Yazzie liked to sew when she had the time. In June 1949,. they continued their mission work serving numerous American Indian and students who attended SDA Indian Mission in Holbrook. She resided at the mission up to the date of her death. Survivors include her son, Frank Neal Daugherty of Port Lavaca, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Daugherty was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Juanita BowlingJuanita Patricia Gregory Bowling, 74, died Thursday, June 24, 1999 at her home in Page. Bom Oct. 4, 1924 in Livingston, Ky. to Bertha Hicks and Roscoe Hiatt Gregory. She married Robert Sidney Bowling Sr. in May of 1945 in Corbin. Ky. He died Sept. 22, 1982. Juanita was one ofthe pioneers of Page. He family was one of the first six who moved here, and she was Page's first registered nurse. She attended First Southern Baptist Church in Page where she had many friends. Her home was always open lo strays that she met, whether animal or people. She was truly a kind-hearted saint who devoted her life lo the service of others. Survivors include her children, Patricia J. Bowling.MD, ESQ, of Las Vegas, Nev., Katherine Anne (Dana) Stone of Page, Julia Elizabeth Bowling-Dell of Las Vegas, and Robert Sidney Bowling Jr. bf Page; grandchildren Nicole Jones, Ryan Stone, and Zachary Bowling", and a sister, June Gregory Burg of Covington, Ky. Donald Adolph June Sr. Donald Adolph June Sr. bom in Kaibeto, Ariz, on March 3, 1930 died on May 12 in Las Vegas, Nev. The funeral was held On May 17 ut the Kaibelo LDS Ward. Internment was at the June's Family Cemelery in Kaibeto. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Junr Sr. and Mabie Henry and son DarreU Arnold June. He is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Frances Rose June and his children: Darnell June; Donald Adolph June, Jr.; Donaldson Arlen June; Diana Mabie Smith; Doreen Arlena Begay; Donna Annette Calimquim and Douglas Aaron June.
