With the structure and content of data handled as well as with ad-vanced interfacing capabilities, Synapsis offers unsurpassed flexibility for integration of third party applications as specified by the owner in accordance with existing hardware requirements. To realize such advanced system solutions within one tailored package, Raytheon Anschütz also teams with automation system specialists such as Admarel, Seastema or Interschalt and with Dp system providers – depending on owner’s dedicated requirements and individual soft-ware capabilities.

The use of standard hardware and standard software not only ma-kes possible the design of very individual bridge systems and ensures future expandibility with highest flexibility, but also simplifies and fastens maintenance and service of the navigation system.

To allow Synapsis Intelligent Bridge control meeting extraordinary demands, we continuously push forward the development of new products and functions that are in particular suited for mega yacht customers.

Integrated navigation systems (INS) engineered by Raytheon Anschütz comprise all devices for compass and steering systems, navigation sensors, radars and ecDIS as well as GMDSS radio communication systems. Synapsis Intelligent Bridge control is the new generation of Raytheon Anschütz INS.

The Synapsis INS is based on a new generation of task-oriented multi-functional workstations which allow the combination of radar, ecDIS and conning at a single workstation. The multifunctional worksta-tions are integrated within an ethernet ring network and receive all relevant data, tasks and configurations automatically. A core element of each workstation is the innovative Synapsis integration platform, a service-oriented infrastructure software framework which controls all central services and tasks of the navigation system.

The INS covers full workstations with radar, ecDIS and conning, advanced data management, various sensors for target detection, heading, position and further navigation data, and steering control systems with standardized user interfaces.

Synapsis Intelligent Bridge control complies with the IMO perfor-mance standards for INS. The integrated consistent common refe-rence system (ccRS) continuously observes the availability, validity and integrity of all sensor data, resulting in a quality indication for each sensor. The most reliable set of data is distributed to all con-nected workstations automatically. Furthermore, the central presen-tation and the intelligent handling of all important arising bridge alerts adds comfort and reduces operating stress but also directs at-tention to critical alerts and thus significantly increases safety.

The bridge workstations share information through an ethernet ring network. Being the heart of each workstation, the newly developed Synapsis integration platform improves the operation of the ship through intelligent and modular integration of all data from sensors and selected ship systems.

All central services and tasks of the integrated navigation system such as navigation control data processing, data storage and dis-tribution, health monitoring, redundancy and backup management, alarm monitoring and data display are concentrated and simultane-ously processed on the platform.

Depending on the required task and display, the data is bundled, shared throughout the network, locally stored at each workstation and presented by the end user applications. The result: More safety as well as improved system performance and reliability, related with increased uptime for smooth running of the yacht.

All workstations within the Synapsis bridge system are based on the same standardized computer without moving mechanical com- ponents (solid state) for optimized lifetime performance and low noise levels.

The Synapsis system architecture allows for highest flexibility in indi-vidual bridge design as well as for highest flexibility with regard to future upgrades or extensions.

Wide-screen multifunctional workstations are tailored to integrate ra-dar, ecDIS and conning in any desired combination, allowing access to any function at any workplace on the bridge. customer-specific applications can be added optionally within each individual mega yacht project in accordance with existing hardware requirements. All solutions efficiency assist the crew in their tasks of collision avo-idance, route monitoring, route planning and track control. The Raytheon Anschütz Synapsis radar features one of the most sen-sitive and reliable trackers even under rough weather conditions, sup-ported by a patented anti-clutter function. The radar even detects tiny targets such as wooden stakes or small buoys.

The brilliant performance goes hand in hand with ease of use. The Synapsis radar with widescreen features a large ppI and a clear struc-tured display of all control functions and status indications. An intui-tive and direct operation of all important controls is achieved thanks to fewer submenus, helping the user to concentrate on collision avo-idance and identification tasks.

SeaScout Collision Avoidance Function

SeaScout supports the navigator finding a safe way and avoiding si-tuations of possible collision. The unique function analyses the move-ment of the plotted objects and determines in which areas the danger of a possible crash is particularly high. These areas are displayed as a hatched field. If the navigator avoids these so-called “No Go Areas”, he most probably navigates on a safe route.

Chart Radar Functionality

The Synapsis chart radar additionally provides sea chart information on the radar screen to simplify the interpretation of the radar video. Having ecDIS information displayed within the ppI indicates where the ship is located with respect to shore lines, shallow water areas and traffic separation zones. With chart radar, the efficiency during watch keeping is further increased.

The Synapsis radar features a video merging mode to improve detec-tion capabilities when using different trackers on board.

ARPA / AIS Target Association

The Synapsis radar can display AIS targets on the radar video. The association of ARpA and AIS targets avoids the presentation of two full targets symbols for the same physical target. Detailed information on targets such as status, course, speed, distance, true bearing, clo-sest point of approach, and time to closest point of approach can be shown on request.

The Synapsis ecDIS provides intelligent functionality to make rou-te planning and monitoring tasks as easy and safe as possible. It features a clear display design, easy-to-operate menu structures and comfortable server functionalities. The comprehensible and intuitive handling is supported by the use of the well-known menu structure of windows applications. All deliveries include online ecDIS-training.

The Synapsis ecDIS functions outrun the basic IMO requirements and offer in interaction with other bridge systems effective support for the ship‘s safe navigation. Among others this covers highly precise track control, automatic route planning and online chart updates, weather data overlay, as well as integration of AIS and Navtex data. Automatic Route Planning

The automatic route planning allows creating any route within the shortest time. Only a handful of clicks are needed to get a safe route at a glance, starting with any place of departure and ending with any desired destination. Individual settings such as included sea areas can always be considered.

Tender Tracking

The Synapsis ecDIS can be extended with a tender tracking module. Tender boats send encoded signals with navigational data (including depth, making possible to explore narrow bays) which are processed and displayed on the screen. To ensure full privacy, those targets are only visible on the own ecDIS system.

Integration Of Weather Data

Synapsis conning is the centralized navigation data display for the ship’s command. It presents all bridge navigation and machine status data easily at a glance and hence contributes to efficient and safe navigation in accordance with operation philosophy. The combinati-on of different instruments and indications at central display pages increases situation awareness even in the critical situations of mano-euvring and docking.

Synapsis conning offers various functions that can be activated and configured by the operator as needed. conning provides full flexibility for individual display pages.

Synapsis conning features different display modes for different ma-noeuvring situtations (e.g. track control, docking, navigation data control) as a standard, but can be enhanced with valuable function.

Touch Screen Display Solution

An innovative conning display combines all relevant information for the ship’s navigation and docking, being easily operated via touch screen. Its compact design allows for space saving installations, for example in the ceiling on the bridge wings.

It makes navigational information available in the captain’s cabin, but can also be installed at any other location on board of the mega yacht. Thanks to an individual – and almost unlimited – configurabili-ty of the display, a live experience of navigation can also be provided within crew areas and even to passengers and guests on board.

Anschütz NautoPilot® 5000

The Np 5000 features a 5.7” TFT colour display with touch screen operation. A selection of different day and night color palettes are available, which fit perfectly with the screen design of all the other bridge displays. Apart from providing highest accuracy with heading control, course control and track control modes, most advanced fea-tures for a safe and comfortable cruise are included. As an example,the new acceleration monitor will avoid damages to passengers and ship caused by sharp turns at high speed, whereas new modes for course control and high precision steering allow most accurate navi-gation even in narrow waters.

Anschütz Gyro Compass System

The Anschütz Standard 22 gyro compass ensures highest accuracy in manoeuvring and position keeping. The gyro compass features a unique technical design with a gyro sphere that is completely sur-rounded by liquid. This results in a high resistance to shock and vibra-tion and thus offers reliable and accurate heading information. For customers who decide upon a maintenance-free solution, the new Horizon MF hemispherical resonator gyro compass is available.

A harmonized, attractive bridge design often is a key demand of ow-ners, designers and architects.Blackvelvet Advanced Design is a new, modular and customizable foil panel solution designed and manufactured by Raytheon Anschütz, which allows creation of an eye-catching, seamless bridge design with standardized HMI for various bridge control devices. The benefit is having a unified surface design, with common lighting, colors, and fonts, as well as foil-impressed push buttons for a common haptics.The foil panels are based on reliable cAN-bus technology and feature newly engineered, flexibly programmable interfaces to connect with third-party operation devices, for example bow and stern thrusters or azimuth controls. using the panel solution, formerly inhomogeneous control devices of different manufacturers can be adapted to the well accepted Anschütz design and haptics.

Look And Feel

A harmonized look and feel is not limited to the control elements. The screen design of radar, ecDIS and conning follows a standar-dized HMI to ensure a well arranged picture of the total bridge sys-tem. Space Clean Desk Design

Multifunctional workstations allow operation of a variety of common sensors and bridge systems directly on the screen, from any bridge workplace. Thus, operation devices of the respective equipment no longer need to be installed on the bridge but can be located in a rack offsite the wheelhouse.This contributes to the total reduction of displays and operation devices on the main control bridge.

Our retrofit solutions allow replacing virtually any existing systems on board, keeping the focus on longer lifetime and more advanced func-
