MOVEMENT

• An automated material transfer system was one of the

key requirements for Facilities Management in the

NHSGGC Board’s Employers Requirements (ERs)

• The size, scope and activity of clinical and non clinical

functions within the new hospitals made such a system

essential to meet the logistical workloads

• Goods and services to be transported by AGV include:

Catering, supplies, sterile instruments, waste and

pharmacy

• The AGVs travel at a maximum speed of 1 meter per second

• The AGV system interfaces directly with the FM Lifts

• Lifts are called automatically by the AGV and once task complete lift is released for next AGV or for manual operation as required

• There will be a 15 minute timeslot included on the total journey time for payloads to the ward area to allow staff time to get to the AGV and a further allocation of time to unload and load

• Operates 24/7
