CHECK-IN OF STATIC EXHIBITS FOR FAIR Due to the high traffic volume at static check-in on Monday night of the fair, we will again be utilizing the check-in system that alleviates some of the back-up at the east doors.

Clover Kids will check in ALL of their exhibits (including food and horticulture) through the north doors of the 4-H Center. This is where they will get their cards to attach to their projects and interview with the judges.

There will be separate lines for home environment check-in through the east doors, so be sure to refer to the signs that night so you are in the correct line for your project. This is to help keep projects and judging sign-up organized.

All 4-Hers will start at the host stand outside the east doors to receive your exhibit cards. There will be tables to use for attaching cards to your projects.

Check-in for all static exhibits (except for clothing & cake decorating) runs from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5th. There will be NO check-in on Tuesday morning.

Clothing exhibits will be checked in on Sunday, August 4th from 2-4 p.m. at the Seward Civic Center

County fair is a very busy (and sometimes stressful) time! We appreciate everyone’s patience and positive attitudes as we continue striving to create the best experience for our 4-H’ers, clover kids,

families, and volunteers.

What 4-H Members Need to Know: • Contact your 4-H leader to sign up to work. • Wear a 4-H t-shirt or club shirt. • Wear clean clothes. • Wear a hat, hair net or pull back hair. • Smile!! Have fun! Show your 4-H Spirit! • Do your best to serve the customer

Why are 4-H Clubs Assigned to Work in the Food Stand? All funding for Seward County 4-H comes from three fundraisers. This is one of them. The funds raised help us carry out the functions of 4-H, provide scholarships, and keep costs low. By helping out you are giving back to 4-H and serving the community.

What 4-H Leaders Need to Know: Assign the following jobs from members/parents in your club. • One adult cashier • Two people to clear tables and dump trash. • One at drinks (2 for noon rush) • 2-3 at food stations • Two adults to oversee food stations • A youth with strong voice to take orders. • Please do not switch members more frequently

than one-hour intervals. • Adult help is needed, especially for clubs that have

primarily younger members. • Since we have more clubs, most shifts are

shorter. You may not need everyone in your club to work in the Food Stand.

** We may need additional volunteers at times and to help smaller clubs. If you are unable to help your club during your assigned time, contact the Extension Office and we will see if another club needs help.
