MDONER & Its Charter In order to sharply focus on the development of North Eastern Region, the Department of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) set up in September, 2001.Upgraded to Ministry on 27th May, 2004. NPAThe gross Non Performing Assets (NPA) of the Corporation as a per cent of gross Loan & Advances reduced to 6.34 % during the year from 7.24 % during the previous year while the net NPA to net Loans & Advances reduced slightly to 3.48% from 3.49%.The reduction in NPAs was facilitated bythe Corporations sustained focus on recoveries through intensive follow-ups, recovery drives, proceedings at Lok Adalats and Debt Recovery Tribunals(DRTs) and settlements under One Time Settlements (OTS) and actions under the SARFAESI.Promotions-

NEDFi has an agreement with NABARD for grant of financial assistance for promoting agriculture and rural development in the NE Region and also refinance support from SIDBI. For further financial outreach in the Region, the Corporation has tied up with othersocio development agencies like NBCFDC and the National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation (NSCFDC) and signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the National Schedule Tribe Development Corporation (NSTDC) for providing financialassistance to deprived and underprivileged sections of society in the region. Targeting irst generation local entrepreneurs through business counselling& networking: In this connection, the corporation is facilitating entrepreneurshipdevelopment and new enterprise creation through its BFCs and organising a series ofbusiness meets/ counseling camps and capacity building programmes in all the NEstates. The focus is to tap and nurture the entrepreneurship skills of the 1st generationentrepreneurs of the Region. Network expansion and branch strengthening: The Corporation is continuing its focuson further expansion of branch network to reach out to needy clients, on strengtheningof the Branches and empowering them to reduce turnaround time in decision making bystreamlining processes and procedures. Skill Development: With major stress on skill development in the 12th ive year plan,NEDFi has also tried to align some of its activities to develop skills among the rural youthfor self employment in the North East Region.26

What it dose-NGO Support Programme was the flagship programme of RGVN through this supported around 1500 NGOs.In 1995 initiated the Credit & Savings Programme a MF retail programme.Around 2005, NGO MF was initiated which was basically MF wholesaling.Since 2005 discussions were on to hive of CSP.
