Diane has worked as a counselor at the Pastoral Institute and was most recently the Director of Hope Harbour, the Battered Women’s Shelter. Diane brings with her a wealth of experience, a passion for this ministry, and a delightful and engaging personality. She is a member of our neighbor congregation, First Baptist Church. We are also pleased to welcome Nickie Tillery as the Director of Children’s Ministries. Nickie is also familiar to us. She and her husband Bobby are members of St. Luke. Their daughters Brooke, Abby, and Rachael attend St. Luke School. Nickie and Bobby have been active in Sunday School and in worship since she moved to Columbus. Nickie is an Educator by training, having completed her BA in Child and Family Development from UGA. She is most recently on staff at St. Luke School. She has just returned from the Children’s Pastors’ Conference in Orlando, where she and Katie Bickerstaff spent three days immersed in exciting possibilities for Children’s Ministry. While we will miss Carol Boers, who has moved to live with her hus- band, Tom, in Dalton, we know that Diane will bring a wealth of vision and experience to that position. The Rev. Beckum, and we are deeply grateful for her dedication and years of service in Educa- tion and Children’s ministries. We look forward to her continuing contri- butions in her new position. Diane and Nickie have already begun their work and will be formally in- troduced to the congregation this Sunday, January 26, at all the worship services and to the Administrative Board on January 29. HOW DO I JOIN THE CHURCH?You may become a part of the St. Luke family of God in one of the following ways:1. If you have never joined a church before, you may become a member by profession of faith in Jesus Christ and by being baptized. If you have already been baptized (as a child or as an adult) in a Christian Church, your baptism is recognized by St. Luke United Methodist Church. You will be asked to uphold St. Luke church with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. 2. If you are a member of another United Methodist Church or another Christian denomination, indicate to one of the pastors that this is your desire. St. Luke will then transfer your membership.3. If you have any questions about faith in Christ, about United Methodism in general or St. Luke in particular, please ask one of the pastors!

“More Love To Thee, O Christ” Gilbert M. Martin More love to Thee, O Christ, more love to Thee! Hear Thou the pray’r I make on bended knee. This is my earnest plea: more love, O Christ, to Thee, more love to Thee. Once earthly joy I craved, sought peace and rest; now Thee alone I seek, give what is best. This all my pray’r shall be: more love, O Christ, to Thee, more love to Thee. Then with my final breath singing Thy praise; this be the glorious cry my heart shall raise. This still its song shall be; more love, O Christ, to Thee, more love to Thee!
