Boardies Day
It was great to see everyone in their boardies last Friday. A special mention must be made of Mr
Lamph’s efforts. The staff would be happy to never see him in shorts again!!! :) Thanks to all the
students who participated. We raised $73 towards this very worthy cause.
Please check your children’s hair regularly as cases of head lice have been
reported. Removal of eggs must be done and lice needs to be treated before
returning to school. Treatment needs to be repeated every week for several
weeks to stop the life cycle of the lice.

Farewell to Long Serving Families
We would like bid a fond farewell and a huge thankyou to the following families who have
been a wonderful support to the school: Barnes, Connell, Flood, Gough, Handley, Taylor and
Towers. Your support over the many years has been greatly appreciated and we wish you and
your family many happy days to come.
What’s In My Lunchbox?
This is a very busy time of the year for all, but it is im-
portant to provide your child a healthy and nutritious
lunch and snacks at school. It is also important to start
the day off with a healthy breakfast. Children who miss
breakfast tend to have poor concentration.
It was a very proud day for Mr Pynsent and Kearsley Public School when students from his
Enrichment Group received a “HIGHLY COMMENDED” award at this years presentation
for the Newcastle Herald Schools Competition. There were 67 schools entered and Kearsley
Public School were in the Top 5. This was an outstanding effort as this is only the third year
that Kearsley Public has entered this competition. The boys received their award for their
story in the Editorial section on “Alternate Cars”. He is looking forward to 2012’s competition
and would like to thank the parents for their continued support. The members of the winning
article were Cody R, Matthew G, Jakob S and Zac T. WELL DONE!!!
Best wishes to our Year 6 Students. Enjoy high school...Daniel B, Clinton C, Brittany C, Kelie
