Eleven O’Clock ToastYou have heard the tolling of 11strokes. This is to remind you thatwith Elks, the hour of 11 has a ten-der significance. Wherever Elksmay roam, whatever their lot in lifemay be, when this hour tolls uponthe dial of night, the great heart ofElkdom swells and throbs. It is thegolden hour of recollection, thehomecoming of those who wander, the mystic roll call of those who willcome no more. Living or dead, Elksare never forgotten, never forsaken.Morning and noon may pass themby, the light of day sink heedlesslyin the West, but ere the shadows ofmidnight shall fall, the chimes ofmemory will be pealing forth thefriendly message, "To our absentmembers."
