2016 – 2017
a message from our president
Summer has arrived and the heat is on in full force! That won’t stop us from slaying the day and being amazing women! Heather Rabin is here this
month to speak about self esteem and how women can use this to
display the right level of assertiveness. We can use this at home, running our busi-
ness, or even getting ourselves to the gym every day. This month we will also be congratulating the ABWA Scholarship Recipients - please go up to these ladies and give them your best wishes. Save the date for ABWA’s Roundup located in Scottsdale August 5-6th and Hat’s Off on August 27th in California - ask Mary Eller-man for details. Every summer has a story. What will yours be? Start yours off strong and full of light with your ABWA sisters.

feel the sun from both sides.”

IMPORTANT!!
Fellow ABWA Members! It is very important that you RSVP for meetings. We want
to ensure that enough food is ordered and place settings are set up. We do con-
sider walk in guests due to the newspaper invitation but it is much appreciated that
members RSVP. Remember that you may cancel your meeting RSVPs until Monday
morning (the day before our monthly meeting). Also, please remember that when
you do not attend a meeting to which you’ve RSVP’d, our chapter must still pay for
that meal and you are responsible for reimbursing the chapter for that expense. If
you have missed a recent meeting, please contact our chapter Treasurer, Karen
McCafferty and arrange to mail in your payment. Thank you!

I have additional travel lined up not sure I will be able to fit it all in. Unfortunately, I will miss Hawaii and
Montana which is also part of District VI.
Being the District VI VP has kept me very busy from District Regional Conferences, confer-
ence calls to mentoring my replacement with Candidates for District VI VP’s. I have been able
to participate by attending meetings and giving updates on what is happening in District VI.
The board set Key Result Areas (KRA’s) as well as coming up with a board theme
#livingthemission. We are on track to fulfill our KRA’s. I also had personal goals for District
VI one is to engage members to recognize other members. To date we have had three. Take the
time and look around who would you like to recognize in our Chapter? Who do feel is
#livingthemission? Please send me an email at [email protected] or text at 928-210-7624
who would you like to have recognized.
Community Connection goes live this week and don’t forget to register for the Just in Time
(JIT) webinar. You will learn how to navigate through our new platform. I have attached the
information to register on the JIT flyer sent to all members from National.
Please remember that ABWA is so much more beginning with our Chapter, State Council and
of course National. We have the opportunity for professional development, networking, gain-
ing new skills, friendships, and to have fun.
Make plans now to attend to National Women’s Leadership Conference (NWLC) October 26-
29, 2016 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. If you are in business – as an employee, employer, busi-
ness owner, service provider, consultant, or career opportunity seeker – this conference is de-
