Table 1: Names of Original Beneficiaries that were sent to Mr. Tarek and their current status
Did not have school fees, left the community and got married in Kampala

family depends on subsistence farming for producing food basically for consumption. Leave in a two
roomed house made of mud walls with wattle and grass thatched roofing.
Major Problems at home: Inadequate food security at home, lack of income generating activity, and
lack of school fees and materials.

Juliet has five other young y6 siblings who are all orphans ( two brothers and three sisters)
Major Problems at home: Inadequate food for home consumption, poor housing with inadequate
aeration, and limited income generating activities at home. Need to be supported with school fees and
other scholastic materials.

inadequate food and clothing. Child need to be supported with schools fees and supplies and clothes.

Mother : Abandoned after the death of her father when she was just 2 years and has never been seen
again.

School status: In school at St Thereza Kkungu S.S.S
Class: Secondary form Two
Home environment: Poor household and grandmother sells local blew from which she struggles to raise
her fees.
Lives in a two room mud house with inadequate aeration for good health.
They stay eight in the two room house and 3 of the children are orphans while the 4 are her own
children.
Major Problems at home: Leaves on a small piece of land with limited space for cultivating food and
thus causing food shortage for the family. Sylvia’s grandmother hires land in a distant area where she
grows food to feed her seven member family. Sometimes she is forced to sell of a small amount of the
harvest to raise some money to buy school items like uniform and books for Sylvia.

Major Problems at home: Inadequate food security since caretaker is aged with less energy to cultivate
the land for food. Grandmother gets sick more often these days and lacks adequate healthcare.

fees; poor feeding both at home and school.
