Introduction
Talema produces a broad range of inductive components forData Communication applications including S and U Interfacetransformers and modules as well as Primary Rate, T1 andCEPT and Ethernet transformers and common mode chokesfor EMI supression.
S / SO Interface Signal Transformers are available in single anddual packages on high permeability ferrite cores. Additionally, most industry standard packages are available in both throughhole and surface mount configuration, offering the designengineer a wide variety of options suitable for about anyapplication.
Talema's S / SO Interface transformer/choke modules providea cost effective alternative to S interface solutions comprised ofindividual components. Incorporating two toroidal transformersand a current compensated noise suppression quad choke, themodules are available in both standard and miniature ChipSMD and through hole packages for optimal utilization ofvaluable PCB space.
E1/T1/PRI/CEPT Interface transformers and modules providea high transmission rate and narrow mask in non-bias interfacebetween the network termination and the branch exchange. The components are available in both standard and miniatureSMD and DIL packages.
A cost effective range of U interface transformers for 2B1Q and4B3T applications for equipment transmission between customerpremises and exchanges is now available from Talema. Thetransformers meet all the requirements of recognized U interfaceIC's and ANSI standard T1.601 with a highly reliable pulseshape and return loss performance.
Current compensated noise suppression and filter chokes aredesigned for interfacing and virtual elimination of noise in ISDNand other data line transmission applications. The broad rangeoffered by Talema features high attenuation over a widefrequency range, all popular winding/core combinations andthrough hole DIP, DIL and SMD packaging options at extremelycompetitive prices.
In addition to the ISDN inductive component range, Talema ismanufacturing an extensive line of transformers for couplingand isolation in LAN, Ethernet, 10/100 Base-T and othertelecommunication applications as well as transformers forgeneral pulse and RF applications. All transformers areproduced in industry standard DIP and SMD packages whichcan accommodate most conventional flow soldering processesand are automatically insertable.
All inductive components for telecommunications aremanufactured in an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015certified Talema facility, offering excellent quality at extremelycompetitive prices.

Talema manufactures a wide range of transformers for all 1.544 and 2.048Mbbs applications. A full listing of LIU TransceiverIC’s with recommended Talema transformers is listed on the following cross reference chart.
Performance has been proven in the many design-ins of our products in these applications Quality and consistency isguaranteed through 100% testing of the specified parameters for Primary Inductance, Leakage Inductance, Turns Ratio, DCresistance and Interwinding Capacitance This ensures that the Return Loss and Pulse Waveshape requirements of ITU-TG.703 and ANSI T1.102 can be met. Additionally all parts are 100% tested for 1500V minimum isolation.Temperature PerformanceProducts are offered with extended temperature ( -40° to 85°C ) as standard. Required minimum inductance levels aremaintained at the lower temperature limits.

Notes:1. Dallas IC’s use either a 1:1.15 or a 1:1.36 ratio transformer depending on the application. Consult the Dallas application notes or contactTalema.2. Consult Siemens Application Note 12.90 (‘Just a Single Line Transformer Type for all IPAT (PEB2235) Applications’) for calculation of resistorvalues.3. The Dual Transformer types MDM-010 and MDM-021 are electrically identical but have different schematics. Either part may be used withthe PEB2254 and PEB2255.4. See Level One Application Note 118 (‘Transformer Specifications for Level One Transceiver Applications’) for further details on the choiceof transformer ratios.
