Welcome
Dear New Community School Parents,
We are looking forward to having you become a part of Community School of Naples’ family, and we hope to make your transition to CSN as smooth as possible. We are excited to welcome your child to CSN’s campus next year. In this pamphlet are a few housekeeping items and reminders to help you prepare. You have been assigned an Ambassador Family to help welcome you into the School. They will be contacting you in the coming weeks to answer any questions you may have. Although you have completed the admissions process with us, Franchesca and I are still here to help you, so please do not hesitate to call or email us with any questions you may have.
WELCOME TO THE CSN FAMILY!
Sincerely,
Tricia HelenboltDirector of Admissions & [email protected](239) 597-7575 ext. 205

IMPORTANT DATES
Visit our website at www.communityschoolnaples.org for “Summer Information”
CommunicationWhat to Expect?
Communication plays an important role in the partnership between home and the School, and we are constantly making strides to improve our methods of communication at Community School of Naples. This summer we are launching a new design of our current website. Below are some of the ways you can expect to hear from us throughout the year and ways in which to communicate with the School:
Website Portal Pages - http://www.communityschoolnaples.org/page.cfm?p=410 The Portal pages are password-protected areas that give you access to information which can only be viewed by current CSN families. The portal pages are equipped with elements such as calendars, videos, social media links, important testing dates, and school field trips, and can deliver content specific to a constituent group such as parents, students, faculty or alumni.
The Parent Portal is personalized to each family, allowing us to increase communication between school and home and give you ease of access to news and happenings in your child’s daily educational life.
Features of the Parent Portal include:• Online access to grades/report cards• Online access to student classes with calendar updates for the classroom, teacher web pages and homework assignments• Online access to division announcements, newsletters and periodic updates from the school nurse.
Email1. The Seahawk Scoop - The Seahawk Scoop is a weekly e-news publication sent out every Saturday afternoon to parent emails and is also available on the parent portal. The Scoop serves as a way to share the CSN experience through a series of news articles, videos, and pictures. School-related news and pictures are welcome for submission at any time to [email protected].
2. Upper School Announcements - The Upper School Announcements are sent out via email every day to the Upper School students and are available on the Parent Portal. You can sign up to receive these via the RSS feeds located on the parent portal.
3. Middle School Weekly Window - The Middle School Weekly Window is an e-newsletter sent home every Friday to all Middle School parents grades 6-8. It highlights the week’s news and events and upcoming important dates.
4. Lower School Weekly News - The Lower School Weekly News is an e-newsletter sent home every Friday to all Lower School parents grades PreK3-5. It discusses the curriculum in each individual classroom and showcases upcoming important dates and events.
*Please note: Not all mail servers will recognize our CSN email distribution and will often mark our email as “junk”. Please check your junk mail folder if you are not receiving your designated divisional newsletter. Contact the Admissions and Marketing Office at (239) 597-7575 ext. 103 if you are experiencing any problems receiving emails from the School.
PhoneIf you ever have a question or need to contact us, please call the front desk at (239) 597-7575 and Mrs. Grimm will do her best to direct you to the appropriate person. Please note that teachers and administrators are not always available via phone as they are teaching classes, and often times are best reached via email. In case of emergency, please note that CSN will communicate important messages via an automated all-school call, text message, or email.
Social MediaPlease visit our Social Media “MashUp” Page located on our newly designed website. We encourage you to “Like” us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, as we use this to post news, events, pictures, and more.
