NEWCASTLE EMLYN FOOD

FESTIVAL is bigger and

better than before.

On June 14th King George

V Playing Fields will be

bursting with local producers

bringing you the best of

their wonderful produce

and the committee have

lined up a fabulous range

of entertainment for you

including the very popular

chef demonstrations.

The chefs demonstrating

delicious recipes in the

kitchen will be Steffan Davies

of Gidleigh Park, Lisa Fearn

of The Pumpkin Patch and

Vicky North of Vic North

Bakes.

The festival will be ofcially

opened by 11am by TV

presenter Sara Edwards.

There will be over 30

stalls and entertainment by

children from local schools

Ysgol Trewen, Ysgol Cenarth,

Ysgol y Ddwylan, Adran

Emlyn, Ysgol Brynsaron, and

Ysgol Penboyr as well as

individual items.

If you want to burn off

excess calories after

sampling some of the

delicious food on offer there

is a climbing wall for children

and adults courtesy of

Llandysul Paddlers.

The town looks forward to

seeing you on June 14th

FOLLOWING my

success in winning the

Springboard Future

Chef Competition in

2011, I demonstratedat a number of events,

some of these included

RHS Hampton Court

Palace Flower Show,

National Eisteddfod of

Wales, Big Welsh Bite,

Pontypridd, ExpoWest

Food Festival, Exeter

and was asked to

be a demonstration

chef for True Taste

Wales. I also received work experience

at many restaurants which include Y

Polyn,Nantgaredig; Cawdors, Llandeilo;

Valans Restaurant, Llandybie and La Fregate,

Guernsey.

I applied for an apprenticeship at Gidleigh

Park, Devon and

was fortunate to be

offered the position

following a working

interview. GidleighPark is home to

the two Michelin

starred celebrity

chef Michael

Caines MBE.

I have also had

the experience of

being on a panel of

judges for the nals

of the Future Chef

competition since

my success in 2011 and have also been

chosen as an Ambassador for the Charity.

I have also been involved in arranging

and cooking at charity dinners. Have also

appeared on S4Cs Prynhawn Da.

The experience that I am gaining workingalongside Executive Head Chef

Michael Caines and his team at

Gidleigh Park is both invaluable and

thoroughly enjoyable.
