Sale of surplus land begins

Sale of first parcel of land The window for bids to be submitted to purchase the first parcel of surplus land has now closed and we hope to conclude the sale this autumn. We will then be in a position to confirm the developer for the land.

The other parcels of land intended for residential use will be sold once the new hospital is complete in 2018. Until then the land will continue to be used for existing services.

All funds raised from the sale of land will be reinvested in the new hospital.

ProjectNEWS

In March 2015 an outline planning application went before the planning committee to agree the broad parameters of the scheme. The trust’s appointed contractor, Integrated Health Projects (IHP), was then tasked with developing the detailed designs which are the subject of the reserved matters application that is due to be submitted.

During the process we identified some alterations to the original scheme which will help us deliver an improved environment for patients and staff and also result in better value for taxpayers’ money.

Changes include the retention of Highlands wing for use as rehabilitation wards and a reorientation of the new building which will allow for more future flexibility.

As a result of the above changes we are also submitting an application to make minor amendments to the outline proposals that went before the council early this year. We hope that these applications will be considered and approved together at the planning committee meeting in November.

The trust is set to submit two further planning applications to Enfield Council to confirm the details of the scheme and reflect minor changes to the original proposals.

New planning applications to be submitted
