The Labor Day weekend was about as good as it gets! We could have had a little more wind for the Sunday Rock Pile race but otherwise it was awesome! The tempera- ture was perfect for Patio relaxing or sitting around the fire ring at night or sailing. All three days, there was some good sailing going on some time during the day. Facebook has lots of photos of recent events under: St. Marys Boat Club, Inc. We are now in the final 2 months of our sailing season. Get out there and enjoy some fall sailing. News from around the club:

Since the last news letter there have been several big

weekend events at SMBC: Putting on the Ritz, Open

Hatch Party, All American Cookout and Italian Night.

The Labor Day weekend was about as good as it gets!

We could have had a little more wind for the Sunday Rock

Pile race but otherwise it was awesome! The tempera-

General Membership Meeting of the Saint Mary’s Boat Club

Call to order – Quorum present

Officer / Committee Reports: Treasurers Report

Officially closed Minster Bank accounts. Funds transferred to Chase bank accounts.

Balances: Chase Checking $37,137.96, Chase Savings $100.00 , Social Committee Account $1,584.86

Social Committee – Fran Schumacher—Thank you for those who assisted with the “Putting on the Ritz” event

.Beach Party / Open Hatch event was a success

.Asking people to re-connect with former/inactive members who may still be in the area and

invite them to dinner following September meeting (September 11 due to Labor Day).

Labor Day Plans - Brenneman’s are Hosting — Signup sheets and details on counter, please sign up by August 27.

Commodore’s Report: Elections to be held in November: Two open positions for Board of Governors, 3 Year terms.

Old Business

Vote on New probationary members, approved: Gary & Jamie Henderson and Jim Lisa Benson

Looking at getting small shed to hold jack stands closer to hoist so they will be more readily available.

Membership cards were prepared by Donna Brenneman, they are on the counter.

New Business:

Aide station for marathon being organized by Gary Brown, September 24.

Election held to replace Ruth Schaeffer on Board of Governors. Kathy Baltes elected to complete remainder of term, ending in 2016.

Discussion held about purchasing Automatic External Defibrillator for boat club building. Cost would be approximately $1500.

Tabled for additional research by Dave Imler. Will report in September meeting

Vote held to choose color for new roof. Decided on blue.

Announcements:

Lake water level is 29 inches below sea wall.
