News from Rishilpi International Onlus
Prolonged waterlogged cause of sufferings for Rishilpi people
Rishilpi International Onlus has been serving poorest in the South western Bangladesh include Sat-
khira, Jessore and Khulna district. Basically , this
geographical region is disaster prone and people of
the region are sufferings every year in natural
disaster such as cyclone, flood and waterlogged.
Rishilpi Bangladesh Head Quarter is located at
Satkhira district and land of this area is lower than
the other part of the district. So, every year during
moon soon July to October Rishilpi campus sub-
merged with the rain water that impede for con-
tinuing the project activities. Sometime water logged
situation turn in to the flood situation and extreme
suffering start and even need to suspend the activi-
ties.
This year monsoon raining began in July 2015 and
started to inundate few parts of Rishilpi campus and gradually a elongated waterlogged situation
been created.
The situation has been turned into the flood due to
incessant rain that submerged the maximum area of
Rishilpi campus. Surrounding community is also
about to under water as many house are inundated
and road of the community about to flood. It was a big challenge for us to cop the situation, Sufferings were increasing amongst the Beneficiar-
ies, Children with Disability and community people
also.
The warerlogged situation went to worse in the
september 23, 2015 and almost every part of the
campus flooded. Suffering was increased for the
persons with disability to attend the workplace,
attend school and receve treatment or theraphy as
follow the scedule. Rishilpi authority try to cop the situation with some alternate arrangement. Hostel
students were shifted to first floor of rehabilitaiton building, dispensary services re-arranged in the
new location of reahbilitaiton bulding. From the end of September 2015 situation is improving.

meeting
The School for Speech &
Hearing Impaired Children
(SSHIC) has organized the
parents meeting on
September 17, 2015. Key
objective of the meeting is
to progress sharing of stu-
dents with the parents and
exchange views with them
for further improvement.
During the meeting teach-
ers delivered some mes-
sage to the parents of
proper management on
daily living activities, food
habit and study at home
and to see their home work
as well as progress.
The major agendas in the
meeting were: Contribution
Fee, Regular Attendance,
Special coaching, Model
test of class five, of SSHIC .
and also discussed Mainte-
nance of Hearing Aid, sign
supported Bangla practice
in the home. Parents and teachers
together discussed in the
meeting and took some
decision that would
effective to obtain good
result in the annual
examination to be held on
December 2015.

On Job capciaity building innitiative of
Physiotheraphy unit
Rishilpi Health Program intents to physical rehabilitation of
disabled children as well as social integration and provide
physiotherapy to maximize the physical ability of those children
who are suffering from cerebral palsy
and other disorder. Many disabled
children are neglected in the family
and the society due to their physical
inability.
Physiotherapy unit provide physio-
therapy according to the plan and
gradually it enhances the capability of the children with disability.
To ensure the quality of services skilled physiotherapy staff is
needed and the unit organizes in-services training for the physio-
therapy Assistant/attendant for strengthen their capacity so that
they can provide services independently.
The project has an ongoing staff capacity development plan for
physiotherapy staff, so that they can more successfully handle the
children with disability. They physiotherapy Unit has yearly plan to
ensure that all personnel who work with children with disability
have access to relevant in-service training opportunities in order to
foster evidence-informed practice.
Physiotherapy unit organized the in-Service training for physiother-
apy staffs on 20 September 2015 at Head Quarter. Total of 17
Physiotherapy staff attended the training. Key topic of the training
was ‘Electrotherapy and professional behavior’ Facilitator of the
training was Physiotherapist Mr. Mehedi Hasan, and Mr. Shankor
Kumar Dhaly. Director, Rector, Assistant Director and Manger-HR
were present in the opening session of the training and they have
stimulated the Physiotherapy staff to ensure the quality of services.

has inaugurated the digital
class room and an opening
class was conducted on
20th October 2015
using multimedia projec-
tor. RCS has received a
Labtop and multimedia
projector to arrange the
class and few teachers were
trained on to operate the
class. Director, Rector, As-
sistant Director and some
Manager were present in
the inauguration session.

Celebrated International Literacy Day 2015 Rishilpi Centre School (RCS) has participated the program of Inter-
national literacy day was organized by Government with a team
consisting 20 students
and some teachers. They
joined dto the rally and
took part in a discussion
meeting at Shilpokala
A c a d e m y .
RCS students participated
in in an Essay Competi-
tion held at the academy
and Sagor Sarker of Class X won the 3rd prize on behalf of RCS
RCS has organized a discussion meeting in the school on the occa-
sion of literacy day celebration based on the key theme: Literacy
and Sustainable Societies. Assistant Director M.A Bari and teachers
of the school discussed in the meeting and motivated students for
illiteracy free society.

Refreshers training for CPS teachers
Community Primary School (CPS) promote the equitable and quality
of education for poor and marginalized community children. Qual-
ity education
depend on
competence of
teachers hence
the Rishilpi has
on job training
arrangement for
the teachers.

As of regular
plan Rishilpi
Education
Program has organized refreshers training for CPS teachers on 2nd &
3rd September 2015 was held at Rishilpi training centre. The train-
ing program was inaugurated by the Assistant Director Mr. M.A
Bari while Director of Rishilpi International Onlus Mr. Vincenzo
Falcone and shared his personal feelings and opinion in the session
with the teachers. In his speech he gave importance of this training
to boost the community primary schools for the development of ru-
ral community children.
A total 52 teacher’s from various institutes were attended the
course. Program Officer-CEP Mr. Sotodol Das has coordinated the
overall training session and key Facilitator of the training was Mr.
Prodip Kumar Gain, Assistant Teacher of Rishilpi Centre School .

for mothers.
Mother skills development
training is one of the activi-
ties to prepare mother as
Therapist for their children.
During treatment session
mothers are closely
involved for enhance their
capacity; they learn basic
physiotherapy and postural
technique. The project
encourages mothers of
newly admitted disabled
children to attend every
treatment session. The
main purpose of the train-
ing session is to make every
mother as therapist of their
own child.
Physiotherapy team
provided skill development
training to the mothers,
provide them information
to increase knowledge and
educate about the impor-
tance of physiotherapy. The
training involves giving
good advice and guidance
to mothers to continue the
therapy at home every day.
In September total of 45
mothers has attended the
training and they are now
competent to provide
therapy independently to
their children at home
EMPC–way of community engagment for child
marriage prevention
A meeting in regard to prevention of child Marriage by Early
Marriage Prevention Committee (EMPC) members, organized by
Education Support Program (ESP), was held at the Gopinathpur
Government Primary School on 9th September 2015. The meeting
was conducted in the chair Mr. Manindranath Karmaker, the Head-
master of the school that school while Mr. Shibu Hembrom,
Supervisor of Education Support Program assist the committee
members to direct the
meeting properly.
There were 07 EMPC
members and other
community represen-
tative spoke on the
occasion. It has come
out from their discus-
sions that
the child marriage
is a curse for the soci-
ety and nobody will support any more any initiative of child mar-
riage. The committee members are pledge to prevent early marriage
in their society and encourage to the people to continue the girl
child education at least of HSC level. **************************************************************************
ASP members get together in a monthly meeting
ESP organize regular meeting with ASP members and as per plan
different awareness message share with ASP members for their
learning and action in their personal life as well as influence to their
family to practice it . ESP

Binerpota villages. The
meeting was held on 20th
September 2015 at RCS .
Purpose of the meeting to
collection monthly sav-
ings and conducted awareness session with a specific message. Key
topic of the month was " FLOOD AND WATER BORNE DISEASES "
as it is rainy season in Bangladesh, many area are waterlogged and
flooded by rain water. The facilitator has discussed the topic and
aware ASP members and their mothers bout flood. During flood
what measured should be required to protect the damages and dis-
eases. Mothers of ASP members also attended the meeting and pro-
moted for girl child education.
