cuddle with GHLS newest additions to sensory

integration. GHLS recently acquired two animatronic

cats that simulate activities of real cats, including:

meowing, head movement, purring, tail flicking, and

kneading. Elders have delighted in engaging with our

new furry friends, and we soon hope to have several

more cats due to such high demand!

New carpet is being installed in

all four cottages. The new

carpet will freshen up the entry

ways and hallways. Two

cottages (Watt and Scott) have

been completed with plans for

Founds and Whitney to come!

Hello Everyone!

2017 has certainly started off with a bang! We are pleased to announce five years of service in the Sheridan

community. It has been a pleasure to serve many families, employ numerous Sheridan residents and provide

a true home for our elders. We are looking forward to everything that the next five years will bring.

We continue to improve our services and facilities and are always looking for adaptive equipment and

therapy items to improve the lives of those we serve. We have been delighted with the success of our

animatronic cats, and I for one am thankful that I can get all the kitten cuddles without the responsibility of

the litterbox or the annoyance of shedding! I am also pleased to see how well the new carpet looks in our

Watt and Scott cottages.

2016 was a very blessed year, and the last two months provided the perfect sendoff to such a great year!

From celebrating our Veterans to the numerus holiday happenings, we really shared a lot of good times. It

seems like it never slows down these days– which helps to keep our elders and families happy and engaged!

Can you believe all this snow? The Farmer’s Almanac predicted the worst winter since 1972, and I think that

with all this snowfall it is definitely true. Due to the amount of snow we have received, we needed to up-

grade to a new four-wheeler with a blade to help keep our roads and sidewalks clear and safe between our

regularly scheduled snow removal. Jarrett, our Maintenance Director, is very pleased that it only takes 15

minutes to clear off the sidewalks versus and hour and a half!

Don’t forget to check out our calendar of events on the back page. I look forward to all the new happenings

and hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Chris Szymanski

A big thank you to Sheridan’s American Legion for celebrating Veteran’s Day with our

eye.”

Congratulations, Laurel, and thank you

Remembering Sheridan… The Sheridan Flouring Mills, Inc., a company that owned 13 grain elevators from Hardin, Montana to Gillette, Wyoming, provided collection, storage and milling of locally-produced wheat and other grains into flour and other milled products. The original mill was established in the early 1890’s, and for a time was the largest tax-payer in Wyoming. The mill operated near downtown Sheridan. A catastrophic fire occurred in 1919 destroying the downtown location and resulted in the construction of a new and larger mill on Coffeen Avenue. Then named the Sheridan Flouring Mills, the mill sold products worldwide. In fact, during World War II, the mill’s flour was shipped to all parts of the globe to feed the hungry.
