until 9pm. The training commitment is over five weeks and is beneficial both in terms
of specific helpline training and is also transferable into every-day life. Helps us all
become better listeners. For more information about this ring Martina 086 3466264.Or LINC office.

Bisexual Drop In.
This will be facilitated for the next couple of weeks by Beth who is just sooooo cool!
In the past we have been asked to provide a drop in/group specifically for Bi women
so please make an appearance on Friday night from 7.30 and say hello. It’s not a
“group” more an informal gathering!
Phoenix Youth
There is no youth group this Wednesday 16th March because of the horse riding
weekend coming up. Also the girls have been really busy in the past few weeks they
need to take a breath. Please let people in the wider community know that the youth
group are as pro-active as they are always looking for new members. Again if you or
someone you know wants to come along to Phoenix and feel a bit shy, just ring Tina
in LINC and she can meet with you first or put you directly in touch with Gillian the
youth worker.
We are so lucky to have such an up and coming vibrant group of girls around so get
the word out……………There’s lots of plans ahead including a rap programme so
watch this space!
Camera Club
Kate came along last Thursday and was a bit lonely. Come on all you budding
photographers! Again women asked and we have responded so if any-one is
interested but missed last week give us a call in LINC and we will pass your details
on as interested. The club will meet once a month.
Older Women’s Group
The facilitation of this group finished last week. We would like to thank Catherine for all her work with the group. Feedback has been very positive and we have heard
through the grapevine there is a change of name. So again watch this space cos I
just can’t believe the name I heard! The ------------------------------------ will be meeting
monthly on Thursday between 6pm and 8pm. The first date will be confirmed shortly.
Occupational First Aid
As there weren’t sufficient numbers to participate in the Occupational First Aid
Training, we will now open it up to the LGBT community in Cork and family and
friends. We need to know numbers ahead of time so please contact Tina to put your name down.

Mna Mna
No Choir this week as its Patricks Day. Back to normal time next Thursday and
again new members are always welcome at choir.
Bolt Magazine
www.boltmagazine.ie
We have current copies of this magazine in LINC for women to take. They were
kindly handed in from a Community member who is involved in the distribution of the
mag. Interesting reading in this and plus a 2 page feature on LINC so get your copy
here. You might also like to go on line to read the mag or if you want to subscribe
then the folks who publish BoLT would be delighted.
Solidarity Books
Paul over in the book shop passed in some copies of Lesbian and Gay Visions of
Ireland Towards the Twenty First Century. We have some copies for you to take so
Thanks to Solidarity Books it’s most generous. First Come First Served.
LINC NOTICE BOARDS
We have two main notice boards one in the main reception and one out in the
kitchen. We thought it might be a good idea if Community members took control of
the kitchen notice board. It might be a good place to advertise personal notices. For
instance perhaps you have something for sale or want to but something specific.
Perhaps you are looking for accommodation or have a property to rent. The
Possibilities are endless. There are two reasons behind this initiative. One is that
adds are kept in the same place and secondly and probably most important is that it
encourages you to have a cuppa or make us a cuppa. Obviously we will have to
have limitations about what ads go up there and this will be at staff discretion.
Afternoon Tea Any-one!
President Mary McAleese invited 10 LGBT representatives to join her in the St.
Patricks Day celebrations in Aras an Uachtarain on Thursday afternoon. Susan
(Chairperson) and Anne (Steering Group member) will attend on behalf of LINC.
From the Presidents Garden to CAMP
Irish Women’s camp will be held in County Cork this year. If you know of anyonewith10acres of land with access to water who would be interested in renting for the
month of July, please contact us.
TAKE CARE HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND…………………….
