wonderful annual event celebrates
older people and the joys of coming
together across generaons to have fun.
We were delighted to welcome the Lord
Mayor of Westminster & Warwick Cllr.,
Lady Christabel Flight to the event.

Silver Members Christmas Party 2015
There was a lively atmosphere at our Silver Members Christmas party
12 December. 130 delicious hot meals in four courses were provided by
our dream team catering heroes led by Gena. Many thanks to our
volunteers from Pimlico Academy who waited on table with some of
our jolly trustees and their other halves. Also many thanks to the Civil
Service and borough market for their donaon of gis and ingredients.
Healthy Tips @ Community Champions Health Fair – October 2015
We hosted a special event for residents who enjoyed healthy demonstraons on
how to make colourful and hearty salads and smoothies as well as trying out
yoga and relaxaon techniques, sporty outdoor games and head & hand
massages .

highlights from the past
year and plans for the
coming year from our newly
appointed Chair of Trus-
tees, Simon Hopkins, and
our CEO, Lainya Oside-
Keivani The evening was
rounded o with a good old fashioned East End
singalong by ETAT and a fantasc buet prepared
by our Team at the at the Wash House Café.

people to host volunteers at home or at the Abbey
Centre to build social
connecons. If you know
of someone who would
enjoy being a host or

Abbey Centre wins Acve Westminster Award 2015
We ocially run the best Health & Wellbeing Physical Acvity
Programme in Westminster as led by Phayza Fudlalla Health & Wellbe-
ng Manager. Our programme was recognised for improving people’s
ealth and wellbeing, enabling them to posively change their
festyles, demonstrang eecve partnership working and engaging
with those less likely to be acve. Many congratulaons to Phayza,
Team Abbey and our many volunteers on this wonderful achievement.

Have Your Say Café Survey
We had lovely feedback from our Have
your Say survey - it is such a boost to
know that you see us as your friendly
community hub. People come here toaend many dierent classes and
acvies but there was one theme
running through your responses: People!
You come here to meet with friends you know but also to meet new
people. You quoted the friendly faces and sta. Some of you said
you eat healthier here and the walk out does you good. We will be
looking closely at all your suggesons to keep improving our
Centre.
Creang Stronger Communies
Our course of community safety discussion groups funded by
Westminster City Council has proved really popular and interesng.
Sessions have covered drugs & alcohol, domesc violence , extremist &
radicalizaon, internet safety and gangs.
