I hope you all had very pleasant half term breaks. It is so nice to see the children refreshed, ready for another two months of learning. The second half of the Autumn Term is always very busy, with An Bullying and Friendship Week, Judaism Week and Art Week all coming up very soon, we will also be preparing for that very important me of the year – Christmas! Now that we are back from the half term, children must now wear the school’s winter uniform. As the days become shorter and the weather becomes colder, please ensure your children come to school with the appropriate warm clothing. Next week, children and staff will come together for our Remembrance Service to commemorate the members of our armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Poppies, which help to raise money for the Royal Brish Legion, can be purchased at the School Office. Have a wonderful weekend! Fr Shaun led Mass today to celebrate All Saints’ Day. Traditionally on 1st November every year, All Saints’ Day is a Christian festival in honour of all the saints, known and unknown. It was a wonderful service as the school started a new half term of learning.

This week, as part of their RE topic, Reception have been learning about Baptism. The children went to St. Mary’s Church to see the baptismal font. They then role played in class what happens at a Baptism.

What an effort! A child at St Joseph’s has single handily collected over 1500 bottle caps for the current Environment Team art project. The Environment Team are going to upcycle the caps to create a beautiful mosaic. They are still collecting bottle caps so please bring them in so they can be a part of the new and exciting art project!
