Trade and Investment are promoted through the Association Agreement between the European Union and Central AmericaIn view of the Agreement Association between Central America and the EU, the governments from both sides met with the private and academic sectors from bothregions, to review the impact and business opportunities offered by the agreement. The two parties have a strong interest in the agreement as it's part of their strategy to increase trade flows and foreign direct investment, and establish a closer partnership. The main topics discussed included: market access, trade in services, rules of origin, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, intellectual property, and investment, economic growth and employment in both regions. There has been an update to Belgium Customs Tariff. This update adds and deletes HS numbers in French, Dutch and English languages, across the tariff schedule. The following HTS chapters are affected: 07, 08, 11, 15, 20, 72 and 87.

There has been an update to European Union Customs Tariff. This update includes new, deleted and changed import duties and preferential duties. The following HTS chapters are affected: 07, 08, 12 and 85.

There has been an update to Germany Customs Tariff. This update adds and deletes HS numbers in German and English languages, across the tariff schedule. The following HTS chapters are affected: 07, 08, 11, 15, 16, 20, 31, 39, 70, 71, 72, 85, 87 and 97.

1. There has been an update to Mexico Import Controls. This update adds Anti- dumping duties for certain products. The following HTS chapters are affected: 72 and 73.2. There has been an update to Mexico Export Controls. This update provides export permit and inspection requirements for certain products, affecting various HTS chapters across the tariff schedule.

fact that it covers all key aspects of bilateral relations: trade, political dialogue and cooperation. The negotiation concluded in May 2010, after 2.5 years of discussion, after which the agreement came into effect at the end of 2013.

The United States and Mexico Customs signed a mutual recognition agreement in order to facilitate and increase the collaboration of their respective security programs: Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and the New Scheme for Certified Companies (Nuevo Esquema de Empresas Certificadas - NEEC). The cooperation between the two countries will allow, starting in 2015, manufacturing companies, carriers and brokers to reap the following benefits: less customs inspections, more efficient border crossings, reduced transportation costs and more efficient management of its processes. This initiative will actually impact North America's trading procedures, not just in the United States and Mexico but also in Canada. The companies that will benefit from this are estimated to represent 41% of the commerce between those three countries, which is about $281 billion USD. The goal of the agreement is to link C-TPAT and NEEC, so that together they can establish a unified and sustainable security stance that can help secure and facilitate global trade cargo. The participating members of the agreement will see fewer inspections when loading ships, a faster process validation, common standards, efficiency of customs and business transparency between customs administrations and best trade flows.

There has been an update to Australia Import Controls. This update affects certain Geosynthetic clay liners products across the tariff schedule. The affected control is: Anti-dumping duties. The following HTS chapter is affected: 68.

1. There has been an update to Singapore Import Regulations. This update captures import prohibition requirement imposed on Telecommunication Equipment. The following HTS chapters are affected: 85 and 86.

2. There has been an update to Singapore Import Regulations. This update captures import license requirement imposed on hazardous substances. The following HTS chapter is affected: 29.

G6 Alliance announces Asia-U.S. West Coast Winter Program

MSC improves service to key North Atlantic Ports

The G6 Alliance members are: APL, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Orient Overseas Container Line.

The members of the G6 Alliance have announced the temporary suspension of their Central China (CC2) service between Asia and the U.S. West Coast until furthernotice.

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. will continue shipping services fromNorthern Europe to the key US ports of Boston and Philadelphia. The revised service is due to come into effect in early 2015.

MSC has proposed joint service with Great White Fleet to provide faster links between key fruit-loading ports of Central America & the USA.

The new service will connect Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama to Florida and the US Gulf (New Orleans and Freeport, Texas), while naturally taking advantage of MSC's Bahamas hub of Freeport. Central America Express will be a two-string butterfly service, commencing mid-October.

Israel Joins 41 Countries in Negotiations over Elimination of Duties on Environmentally Friendly ProductsAmong 41 members in the WTO (World Trade Organization), Israel has begun negotiations on a new trade agreement aiming

Some of the countries at the negotiation table include the U.S., China, Japan, and the EU making up roughly 90% of the countries with a market share of such goods. Although the list of goods to be included has yet to be determined, there is a push for water and renewable products such as irrigation, water filtration systems, solar energy production, wind turbines, and green construction.
