PRINCIPAL’S REPORT:
As this is the last newsletter for term 2, I would like to thank the entire school community for your ongoing support and understanding throughout these difficult and uncertain times. At this stage for the beginning of term 3 we will be continuing with the same drop of and pick up arrangements at the beginning and end of the school day. If we receive any information from the Department of Education allowing us to change back to normal between now and the beginning of term 3 we will notify everyone through Compass. With the holidays so close, I would like to remind everyone about the importance of staying safe and being seen on and around our roads.
The end of this week sees Ms Azzopardi begin her family leave. We wish her and her family all the best of health during this exciting time. Ms Davidson will be replacing Ms Azzopardi as the teacher of Grade 3SA.
At the end of next week we say goodbye to Mr Matthew Williams. After almost 11 years at Cairnlea Park Primary School Mr Williams has been successful in picking up a promotion to a Learning Specialist. I would like to acknowledge Mr Williams’ dedication and great work with the many children he has taught during his time at Cairnlea Park Primary. On behalf of the Cairnlea Park Primary School Community, I wish Mr Williams all the best in his new role at Dallas Brooks Community Primary School. We will be interviewing for Mr Williams replacement over the holidays.
CURRICULUM DAY Next Thursday 25th June is a Curriculum Day for all staff at Cairnlea
Park. Staff will be finalising mid-year reports and planning for Term 3.
There will be no school for any children on this day.
END OF TERM DISMISSAL Next week sees the last day of term 2 on Friday 26th June.
Friday dismissal will be at 2.30pm. Lunch will be an hour earlier with
children eating their lunch in the classrooms at 12:25pm. Please ensure
you have made arrangements for the collection of your children at
2.30pm.

EARLY SCHOOL PICK-UPS With the staggered dismissal times and the current COVID-19 safety requirements being implemented in
the office, parents who need to pick up children early for appointments etc. must arrive before 2:45pm.
With only one adult at a time in the foyer area of the office the pickup process is now very slow.
2021 PREP ENROLMENTS Prep enrolments for next year are now being taken. Children must celebrate their fifth birthday by 30th
April 2021 to be eligible for school. Due to our enrolment restrictions, we are unable to accept prep
enrolments from families who live outside the Cairnlea estate. Parents are required to supply the
following information when enrolling:
Proof of residence in Cairnlea
Proof of age (birth certificate or passport)
Immunisation certificate
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions we are still unable to conduct any school tours. When these
restrictions are lifted we will publish new times for school tours.
SPEED LIMITS ON ROADS AND CAR PARKING AROUND THE SCHOOL Please remember that the speed limit on roads around the school is 40 kmh from 8.00-9.30am and 2.30-4.00pm in Furlong Road and at all times in Carmody Drive and Shepperd Way. Brimbank Council Officers have been back observing parents parking around the school. They have told the school to tell parents not to double park or park on nature strips. Generally speaking make sure you are observing all parking signs when you park around the school and the shopping centre carpark. Kind regards, Mark Mills Principal

Reminder to all parents that have not applied for CSEF (Camps, Sports, Excursion Fund), that it closes Friday 26 June 2020.
This is a payment directly paid to the school and is allocated towards your child’s camp, sports and or excursion expenses.
To be eligible parent or legal guardian must hold either:
Veterans Affairs Gold Card,
Centrelink Health Care Card
Pensioner Concession Card
Or Temporary Foster parent
Concession cards must be successfully validated with Centrelink on the first day of either
Term 1 28 January 2020
Term 2 14 April 2020
Applications can be downloaded or collected from the school office.

PSW STORES REOPENING AND ONLINE ORDERING INFORMATION
PSW would like to express their thanks to all parents for their continued support and understanding during these times. PSW stores will adhere to government direction, to ensure the safety of all employees, parents and children although there may be some slight delays when parents visit the store.
Below are the new trading days, times and information for online purchasing.

School Sport Victoria Virtual Cross Country SSV has launched a Virtual Cross Country event so you can have a school sport place where you can add your run/walk for a new personal best or just run/walk for fun & fitness.
