Peru Love for God Creates a Willingness to Make Great Sacrifice! Whether in the highly populated cities or the isolated jungle villages, God has placed his amazing jewels in Peru. Whether in the highly populated cities or the isolated jungle villages, God has placed his amazing jewels in Peru. These jewels are former drug kingpin bodyguards, like my friend Dinko Zambrano, from the city of Trujillo. After being led to Jesus by a Dutch policeman on the island of Aruba, he moved to Holland where he was disciple and trained to be a pastor. He and his family pour themselves out all week long to connect the disconnected to the God that loves them.

All pain gone!

This man (below) suffered 2 ½ months of severe neck pain after a motorcycle accident. Barely able to turn his head, he encountered Russell and Joaquin Evans in Trujillo. After prayer, all pain disappeared and he moved his head without the need for the neck brace.

Old friends meet our Peruvian friends.

It was a great privilege to host Johnny and Addie Prewitt and John and Nathan Stein on a recent trip to the Peruvian jungle. Russell has known these men for about 35 years and it was so much fun to minister together with them during this trip.

Can Sports Transform a Nation?

In Havana, 3,500 people gathered for the opening ceremony with approximately 85% being unbelievers!

In the rural towns, churches from the surrounding areas joined together to support each other in these activities. Many people have to travel several hours distance in trucks. Each church is experiencing increase and new life as they work together to reach Cuba one person at a time.

CubaNationwide Sports Festivals

On the heels of the World Cup Tournament, the Cuban sports ministry has been conducting sports festivals throughout the country. In more than 15 villages and cities, these festivals consist of an opening ceremony, 2 weeks of organized sports competitions and an awards ceremony in a local church at the end of the competition with a strong evangelistic message.

Sports activities are an amazing tool to facilitate discipleship of young people that have never stepped foot inside of a church.

All across the country, pastors and leaders are discipling children and youth while training them in sports like baseball, soccer, volleyball, and even chess.

Recreational Activities for God!

Meet Osmani and Micky!

Osmani Sosa (left) is doing a wonderful job of leading this sports ministry in Cuba.

Micky Gandara (right) is one of the most successful soccer players in Cuban history and is working full time in the ministry after retirement. He and other former soccer players from the Cuban nat iona l team are discipling hundreds of youth all year long.

A Great Harvest of Souls in Cuba!

The youth in this picture (right) are praying to receive Christ in their hearts. This is fruit that has come from the evangelistic sports ministry. Out of the sports festival outreach of July and August we are expecting thousands to begin a new relationship with Jesus. Last year, over 18,000 made decisions for Christ and we are on track to eclipse that count this year!
