Value of the Week

Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world.” — George Bernard Shaw

It is very important to take pride in your appearance as people judge us by their first impression of us. Research tells

us that it takes just a quick glance, maybe as little as three seconds, for someone to evaluate another person when

they meet for the first time. In this short time, the other person forms an opinion about you based on your appearance,

your body language, your demeanor, your mannerisms, and how you are dressed.

So it is important that we pay attention to our appearance each day. We need to make sure we bathe or shower at

least once a day, wear clean clothes and put on deodorant after our bath or shower.

“JUNKFOOD WARS”

2018 EMERSON SCHOOL PRODUCTION

On Wednesday 12th September, Thursday 13

th September and Friday 14

th September Emerson School celebrated its

Annual Production. This year’s production focused on a loveable character by the name of Russell Bottomlesspit who had some work to do on his personal eating and lifestyle habits. His whole family had to come on board to change personal lifestyle and eating habits. The cast and crew of this year ’s production did a truly remarkable job telling everyone how to work together to improve health.

I thank all staff: Lincoln Bowen, Tony King, Luke Bowen, Elizabeth Ralph, Margaret Orr and Don Laughton for their help with the show again this year. Please enjoy the photos below.

HEALTH TIP:

Showering once per day, using soap, keeps your skin fresh and clean. It removes the excess oil and

germs allowing the pores to breathe and be healthy.

Your clothes need to be washed regularly to remove dirt, dead skin cells and general body odour.

Wear clean socks and underwear every day.

INTERNET SAFETY TIPS

Spend time with children, just as you would with many other activities such as sport, board games and

walking the dog—learn and explore together!

Install filters and other monitoring/blocking software to minimise dangers. This is already done in schools but

parents need to have up to date filtering software installed at home.

ABSOLUTELY NO EXCHANGE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION.
