May 19 th , 2020 Vol. 6 I just finished The Explorer by one of my favourite authors, Katherine Rundell. It is a story of four kids stranded in the Amazon rainforest and how they had to eat food from the environment to survive. How does pancakes made from cocoa grubs sound? You can still make this at home in the form of a recipe book or a food journal. Our friends at Project Chef have given you instructions on how to make a journal to keep recipes, ideas, etc. http://projectchef.ca/2020/04/08/food-journal/ If our school year had continued with no interruption, right now our classes would have been immersed in classroom cooking activities. However, I know learning at home includes many of you having more opportunities to be in the kitchen cooking and preparing meals. As our friends at Project Chef have said, Cooking at home can give the chance to slow down and think about what you’re eating, to be curious about food, and examine what is in your fridge or garden with new questioning eyes.
