2020 WHOLE SCHOOL ORGANISATION
We continue to work through the many processes required to confirm our staffing for 2020. We recently
advertised 2 classroom teacher positions. After a rigorous and merit based process we would like to announce
that Ben Fiegert and Demi Hall were the successful applicants and will be joining us in 2020. As a
consequence, Sam Muscatello and Rylie Gloury will not be working with us next year. We appreciate the
work completed by Sam and Rylie and will acknowledge their work at Axedale PS in coming weeks.
We would also like to acknowledge the work completed by Lynley Jordan. With the change in numbers for
2020, we will be running 5 classrooms next year. Again, we will acknowledge Lynley’s work in the coming
weeks.
Michelle Caldwell will be returning to work on a part time basis. We continue to work through the process
required to confirm her role and days in which she will be working.
We are required to advertise our Music, Art and Indonesian positions. These positions have been advertised,
with the process completed by the end of the year. Lydia will again joins us for one day per week in 2020.
Further details will be provided in the coming weeks regarding classroom structures and teacher allocation to
specific grades.
OUT OF UNIFORM DAY – FRIDAY 29th NOVEMBER
Tomorrow, Friday 29th November we will be holding an out
of uniform day to raise money for the fire affected areas of
Australia. You may have heard this spoken about on
Bendigo’s Hit FM radio station. Students are encouraged to
wear casual clothes and bring along a gold coin donation.
Thanks for your support.
THANK YOU MORNING TEA
We are hosting a Morning Tea to say thank you to all of the
school and wider community people who have helped us out
this year. As an expression of our thanks, parents are invited
to come along and enjoy a cuppa and a bite to eat. Please
come along on Friday 6th December, from 11.15am, we are
looking forward to seeing you.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT
We will be holding our End of Year Concert in the Axedale
Hall. This year the concert will be on Wednesday 18th December, will begin at 6.45pm and will run for
approximately one and a half hours. Each grade will perform a number of items and we will also present our
end of year awards. Families are invited to share a picnic tea in the park prior to the start of the concert.
LIBRARY BOOKS
Students are asked to return any school library books so Deb can complete her end of year audit. Students and
parents are asked to check at home and return any books. Thanks for your help with this.
MARC VAN BOOKS
Mrs Gentry is super impressed with the students at Axedale PS! Of all the schools she visits, we have the
smallest number of books still borrowed. We only have 5 books out to our students and I know these will be
returned over the coming days.
MUSIC NIGHT
Next Wednesday 4th December we are hosting our end of year Music Performance Night. Throughout the
year, many students have taken the chance to learn and develop new musical skills, our aim is to provide an
opportunity for students to share their skills as part of the performance. All of our students are at different
stages of their musical journey. Some performances will be individual and some will be group performances.
All school choir, school rock band, Jo Woodward guitarists, Lou McGregor singers, David Dewar drummers
and Rachel Mav Keyboarders will be required on the night. If you are unable to attend please let the school
know.
Families whose children are involved are encouraged to come along and enjoy the show. While we will be
endeavouring to keep the show moving, please be mindful that there will be a lot to get through.
We are aiming to hold the performance outside with a 6.00pm start and an approx. 7.30 pm finish. Families
may wish to come a little earlier and bring a picnic tea. Some table and chairs will be available but families
are encouraged to BYO deck chair.

MOBILE PHONE RECYCLING
Axedale Primary School is a keen supporter of Zoos Victoria mobile phone recycling complain.
They're calling you aims to raise awareness of the threats gorillas face from mining while raising money to
support primate conservation and divert phones from landfill.
All smart phones, mobile phones, tablets and accessories such as chargers in ANY condition are accepted.
To protect data, it is recommended to conduct a factory reset before donating your phone.
Let's support endangered species programs and donate any phones that are hanging around your house.....they
are full of heavy metals that can be recycled!! The phone collection tub is located across from the school office
on the sports memorabilia display area.
Thanks
