Each year, UGCS’s K5-6th grade enjoy a special day celebrating Grandparents and what they mean to us. With the concern of COVID, our Grandparent’s Day will look dierently but hopefully will fulll the same purpose in honoring grandparents. During the month of September, students will be working on class presentations. Students will be videoed, and the presentation will be released through social media on Friday, October 16. e 16th is the end of rst quarter; so please feel free to have grandparents pick up students at ½ day dismissal, 11:45, to take to lunch and enjoy a special day with them in honor of our Grandparent’s Day celebration. Please make sure that teachers have permission for grandparents to take these students. We look forward to this virtual presentation that lets our Grandparents know just what they mean to us!

On ursday, October 22, we will be conducting our Parent/Teacher meetings for K5-12th grade. Each teacher/team teachers will be conducting and scheduling their own meetings either in person in their classroom or virtual via ZOOM. ursday, October 22, will also be a half day to allow for the meetings. More details will be forthcoming for signing up for the meetings.

We are beginning to see some parents and students coming down with positive u diagnosis and other illnesses. Because COVID symptoms mirror so many other illnesses we are asking the following of parents when their children are sick and unable to come to school.

· Call the school oce to notify us that your child is sick.

· When your child is symptom free, please call the school oce to make us aware that your child is better.

· A child cannot return to school until you have been given a re-entry date by the school oce or a doctor has cleared that student to return to school.

o Students will have to be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. at time frame will begin after a parent has notied the school oce that their child is symptom free and is not on any fever reduc-ing medication.

o Students can return to school with a doctor’s note making the school aware that a child has been diagnosed with something other than COVID 19 and they are good to return to school.
