    Helping children be the best they can beDear Parents, Governors and Children,

    OUR NEXT HOLIDAYWE BREAK UP FOR THE SUMMER AT 3.30 P.M. ON FRIDAY 19 TH JULY AND RETURN AT 8.45 A.M.ON WEDNESDAY 4 TH SEPTEMBER.

    END OF TERM I would like to thank everyone who has put so much into theschool this year, helping children learn and showing theOfsted inspectors how much school has improved over thepast few years. As I read through the end of year reports, I was impressed by how many children hadmoved forward in their learning and built their confidence. I hope everyone can have a good holiday anda rest, and come back refreshed and ready for the school year ahead in September. I am sure our Year 6children and the others who leave today will go on to their new schools and make a real success of it, andthe staff who leave will enjoy the new chapter in their lives. We look forward to seeing everyone back onWednesday 4 th September. Happy Holiday!

    PLEASE RETURN BOOKSWe still have a lot of our books missing, despite appealing on the newsletter for you to lookfor them at home. Lost books cost school a great deal of money and we do ask that they arelooked after while in your care. Please look around your home again and return any you

    may find, even if it is after the holiday. Thank you.

    ATTENDANCECongratulations to Miss Hicks and everyone in BLUE CLASS for having the bestattendance of the whole school this year. Thank you for setting such a good example tothe rest of the school and keep up the good work next year in year 5!Last week the classes with the best attendance in each key stage were SAPPHIRE , WHITE,

    BLUE and GREEN

    NON UNIFORM DAYA big thank you to all the children who achieved 100% attendance this half term, you haveearned the non uniform day reward for everyone in your class. Well done!

    HOLIDAYS DURING TERM TIMEPlease remember that until the end of this academic year, holidays in term time can only beauthorised if your child has over 95% attendance. From September, no requests forholidays can be authorised at all, except in exceptional circumstances for which writtenevidence must be provided. Fixed penalty notices will be issued if unauthorisedholidays are taken in term time. From September, fixed penalty notices will beapplied even for one days holiday in term time.

    PHONING SCHOOL

    When you telephone school, you will be asked to select one of three options, Number 1 toreport absence, number 2 to speak to the Inclusion and Special Needs Team, or press 3 tospeak to the main reception. Please make sure that general messages are given to the main

    reception to have them passed on. Thank you.

    PARKING ON GRESLEY ROADWe have had another phone call from a resident saying that tenants who live in thebungalows on Gresley Road are having problems with parents parking at pick up anddrop off times. This is causing access problems for mobility scooters and couldpotentially be dangerous should one of the residents need an ambulance in anemergency. Please, if you bring your children by car, make sure you park in aresponsible manner with regard to our neighbours. Many thanks.

    TABLE TOP SALE AT GRESLEY ROADGresley Road Community Centre have organised a Table Top sale on

    Saturday 27 th July at 10.00 a.m. Everyone is welcome to come and supportthis venture, and the proceeds are in aid of Autism. If you want to have atable, the price is 5. Please ask Ray (our lovely lollipop man) for furtherdetails.

    CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR NEWSLETTERWe are encouraging the children to contribute to our weekly newsletter withstories, pictures and items of interest they have done in the classroom ouroutside school. The contributions this week are from Year 2. Look out formore class contributions in the coming weeks

    CRAFT WORKSHOPS AT PARK SOCIAL CLUBThere are Parent & Child Craft Workshops being held at the Park Social reception Roomduring the summer holidays. There are limited spaces so places need to be pre-booked. Forfurther information and to book a place, please call Sharon on 07547345690

    MULTISPORTS FOR OVER 8sThe Safer Neighbourhood Team are holding a multi-sports event at Balby MUGA on Oswin Avenue. Theplaces are free but do need to be pre-booked. For further details, you can contact the team on 01302385339. The sessions are all in the afternoon, from 1-3 pm oncea week throughout the summer. If your child is interested, and isover 8 years old, please contact the SNT team directly to book aplace.
