Production Wow we are so proud of all our students and their two amazing performances yesterday! Well done and what a gigantic effort you have all put in over the last term; dancing, singing, learning lines and helping with props, music, backstage and tickets. It was truly a team effort and thanks to all the staff, to Mr Grant and the choir, to the parents who helped with making and transporting props, to SR Sound and to Mrs Campbell for her lead as our Director, co-ordinating it all from start to finish!

Kapa Haka – Cultural Festival Congratulations to all the children who were involved in the Kapa Haka performance at the Cultural Festival last week. They gave a magnificent performance. A big thank you to Mr Grant, Mr Shea and Matua Wiremu Puanaki for all the hard work they put into rehearsing with the children. The official video of the performance will be available in approximately two weeks for you to view.

Writing from Room 9 Mr Candy lived in Candy Land and he loved candy!!! He Loved candy so much he ate it all day. One day Mr Broccoli came to town. Mr Candy was so angry because vegetables were not allowed in candy land.

Mr Candy went back to his house and had a nap. He woke up with a plan to get rid of Mr Broccoli using Mr Broccoli’s favourite candy. Mr Broccoli followed the trail of candy. And then……….bang! Mr Candy trapped Mr Broccoli in a Licorice Cage!!!!!!!!! Mr Broccoli could never escape because he HATED Licorice!!!!!! Mr Candy lived happily in Candy Land and no vegetables ever came again.

Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon Our school has once again registered for the 2020 Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon. This will be held on Sunday 23rd February 2020. Each parent needs to register, pay and pick up a bib for their own child. To register for the event click here (remember to tick “yes – join my school group” if you want to be part of the Our Lady of Assumption School Group). The school will arrange a space to put a tent up so the children have somewhere to gather on the morning of the event.

Helping Hands We currently have a high level of demand for Helping Hands meals. If you are able to drop a meal in to the school office before the holidays that would be fantastic. Examples of Items that are great to receive are Cottage Pie, Lasagne, Bolognaise, Soup, Rolls, mashed potatoes, baking and vegetarian meals. We will receive whatever you can manage. Any one item is great as we can piece a few donations together to make up a meal. We have freezer facilities so we can store food. A huge “THANK YOU” to all our members who have been cooking and baking for our school throughout the year. Our school is very blessed to be able to operate and offer this outreach at particular times for families. Please know that your kindness is gratefully received. If you are not already part of this programme and you would like to be to help us, please email [email protected]. We need more members.
