need. The Church also

frequently givesmedicine, food,

clothes, and more

to those in need

around them. I

am humbled and

honored to be a

part of such a

caring and gener-

ous group of peo-

ple. May we all

seek to see people the

way Jesus does and act

accordingly.

In Mexico, you dont

have to look far to find

people in need. Just

outside of townin a suburb

called Ocote-

pec, there is a

group of

women who

care for and

feed the

neighborhood

children. Two

times in the last

few months, the mem-

bers of La Fuente have

helped in the effort and

brought joy as well as

gifts of clothes and food

to this group of sweet

people. It is an opportu-

nity for us to teach

about Jesus love at the

services for a few weeks

and she quickly began to

ask some very important

questions. After studying

Gods Word, she made the

decision to be baptized for

the remission of her sins.

We were blessed to share in

the celebration as we gath-

ered together to pray, sing,

and read from the Bible.

remain strong in her faith

and protected from Satan.

Whats New on the Horizon

Mission to Mexico City

Community of FaithOnce a

month, mem-

bers from all

of the

Churches of

Christ in and

around Cuer-

navaca have

been meeting

to sing, pray, learn

from Spripture, and

share in a meal to-

gether. Each congrega-

tion rotates in the re-

sponsibilities of orga-

nizing and hosting the

gathering. It has been

very encouraging to

see the unity that is

being fostered and is

growing among the dif-

ferent congregations in

town. It is a great tes-

timony to our Mexican

brothers who were the

impetus behind these

meetings and a great

example to other com-

munities lacking such

unity. I will be preach-

ing on the 23rd of this

month when it will be

our turn to host the

event. Please pray for

me as I prepare for this

important task.

Earlier this month La

Fuente sent twelvepeople to Mexico City

and Toluca to help andencourage the churches

there. We met up andjoined forces with a

group of AIMers from

Lubbock. It was a

great experience forthose of us who were

able to go. I know thatthe Christians in those

cities were encouraged,and it is a trip we will

never forget.

series about the heroes of

faith from Chapter 11 of

Hebrews. It was en-

couraging to see our

Mexican brothers pre-

paring lessons and shar-

ing in the responsibilities

of preaching. In our
