This week saw prestigious visitors from the Institute of Education, London University, come to Barlow Hall in

order to look at our reading development here in school and through the very successful courses we run for

other schools, both locally and nationally, as part of the Manchester Teaching School Alliance. Our visitors

were impressed by all that they saw.

Good Luck to all the Year 6 children who will be sitting their SATs next week, we wish them all well.

Celebration Assembly: Monday 9:10—9:30 am –Parents whose children are to receive an award

will receive a text to inform them and are welcome to attend the assembly. You are welcome to join us for this event. we will text you if your child is to receive a special award. Birthday cards are presented in Celebration Assembly to children having birthdays during the week

Year 6 SATs Week

Reminder that year 6 SATS start on Monday. Please ensure

that if your child is in Year 6 they arrive in their lines at 8:55

am and are not late as this will cause them undue stress.

Please try to ensure the children get some early nights so they

are fit and energized for their assessments and have a good

breakfast before they come into school.

Coffee Mornings for Year 1 Parents

Following on from last week’s coffee morning to discuss Y2

SATs with parents Mrs Budgett will be holding a coffee

morning for parents of Year 1 children next Tuesday, 13th

May, to discuss the forthcoming Y1 Phonics Screening Tests.

All year 1 parents are welcome to attend.

Disabled Parking Bay

Please could we ask parents or carers not to park in the

disabled parking bay next to the office, (which is

clearly marked in yellow paint), unless they or their child

holds a blue badge disabled permit or they are bringing

someone who is disabled into school, this will ensure that

those who need the space can use it as required.

Art Day On Thursday the children will be taking part in our school-wide art day. The theme this year is 'Hands-up for Art' focus-ing on collaborative projects using hands to represent self and togetherness. Please see the blog next week to see how

the classes get on.

Ongoing reminders Please can PE kits be available in school every day.

Please ensure children wear full school uniform especially footwear , colourful canvas is not appropriate.

Please ensure only healthy snacks (preferably fruit only) and lunchboxes are brought into school
