This term, students in Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 have learnt to classify objects and materials as man-made or natural (God made). They have marvelled at the wonder of God’s creation as they have studied wet and dry environments. Throughout this term, the students have been observing the changes in their garden near the Learning Hub. Aſter the recent heavy rain, the students explored the playground and looked at the puddles. We are very thankful for Mr Cleall, who organised work, which has enabled the school to dry out rapidly aſter heavy rain. The students in Year 2 have been making connections in their learning between Science and English. They’ve learnt to summarise and synthesise to develop their comprehension skills. When the students read that some echidnas are active at night and others are active in the day, they were able to synthesise. That is, they combined what they comprehended from the text with their knowledge from Science and understood that some echidnas must be diurnal and others nocturnal. This week, students in Kindergarten to Year 4 have had the opportunity to participate in a drama workshop that tells the story of Tiiddalick the Frog. A message from Mrs BarnesInfants Learning about God's Creation

Science and Geography provide a wonderful opportunity for students to explore the world that God has created.

After the recent heavy rain, the students explored the playground and looked at the puddles. They found worms and recalled their study of invertebrates from Term 1. The students remembered that worms like to have ‘moving days’ in wet weather.

The staff and students were most surprised to see how quickly the playground and the school property changed and started to dry out in the days after the floods. We are very thankful for Mr Cleall, who organised work, which has enabled the school to dry out rapidly after heavy rain.

Students will also have time to reflect on the story of Tiddalick the Frog and the biblical truths of creation.
