This diagram of the integrated Oil and Gas Training
Chain identifies 10 modules in our Nexus Series.
Module Number and Topic Area
Upper Completions:

1 2 3 4 5
6 7 8 910
Pre-FEED / FEED
This training module is a
practical class that
shows how Front End
Engineering Design is
setup. It takes into
account OPEX and
CAPEX, Net Value,
Budget, resources and
CTR development. It is
an excellent approach
to optimizing cost and
building a strong team.
Survey of Vessels
This training module is a
practical class that
provides a systematic
approach on vessel
selection. It takes into
consideration all the
interfaces, deck
loadings, crane and ROV
capabilities, including
ease of hardware
installation. Hazardous
areas and other critical
utilities are discussed.
IWOCS
Installation and
Workover Control
System class takes into
consideration design,
development and
offshore hook-up and
commissioning are
detailed out in this
class. Equipment vital to
uptime on the Rig like
the Hydraulic Power
Unit, Umbilical &
Umbilical Reeler and
Control Systems are
explained.
CWOR
Completion Workover
Riser System class takes
into consideration
Formation Isolation
valve, SCSSV, Riser
System and options for
light well intervention,
for example, EDP / LRP
systems vs Christmas
Tree on BOP option.
Annulus Reel
applications are also
discussed.
Subsea Christmas Tree
This class takes into
consideration
Horizontal and Vertical
Trees, Tools and Test
Equipment, design,
testing and installation.
API standards applicable
to trim selection, valve
selection, effect of Shut-
in tubing pressure and
well-heads; and more.
Well Jumper
This training module
takes into consideration
Well Jumper and Flow-
line Jumper selection.
Hub capacities,
Connector Capacities,
Landing Speeds,
Installation methods,
meterology based
challenges, type of
jumper, material
selection and mounting
of acoustic sand
detectors are discussed.
Manifold / PLET
This training module
looks into Production,
Water Injection and gas
Injection manifold
systems. Pigging
considerations, pigging
loops, selection and
installation. Manifold
Piles vs Mudmats.
Design, testing and
installation. Vessel
selection and
challenges.
Subsea Distribution
The Subsea Distribution
system utilizes Subsea
Distribution Units (SDU)
and Electrical
Distribution Units (EDU)
for directing hydraulic
power and electrical
power /
communications to
Subsea Christmas Trees,
Manifolds, HIPPS,
including SCM’s.
Umbilical
There are two types of
umbilical’s: Production
and IWOCS. The IWOCS
and shallow water
Umbilical are flexible
and retrievable.
Whereas, the
Production Umbilical
and in-line Umbilical’s
comprise of metal tubes
(Super Duplex) and
cables much larger for
handling 30yrs of field
life.
Production Control
System
This is the brains of the
subsea system. We take
a practical approach
from the topside Master
Controls Station, UPS,
EPU, HPU, TUTA’s,
TUPA’s, all the way
down to Tree Mounted
Controls, Manifold
Mounted Controls,
Intelligent Well Controls
and more.
