ABSTRACT

NFF objectives are to present on ongoing programs for standardization efforts as well as progress reports as to solicit inputs from our sponsors and community attendees. We anticipate NFF Youth Parks Program (to include summer events and activities) will continue to draw participants of all ages; 100% community residents and organizations, including representatives of the Millennium Development Goals, in the run up to the drafting of the post- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the importants of food and nutrition.

In addition to NFF Parks Program is World Street Peace through Sports (SPTS), where NFF Youth Leadership is also preparing their proposal for 2015 sponsorship and Young Leadership applications. Depending on the outcome of the Summer Youth Program, NFF may incorporate our Summer Youth Programs into Summer Games, as part of NFF's revision for submission with approval from sponsors and community attendees. NFF Youth Leadership is also gauging its interest for the launch of 2015 World Street Peace through Sports initiatives for children/youth in Sao Paulo Brazil: (a) launching the United Nations Youth Leadership Program, (b) distributing school supplies and sports equipment; (c) conducting a seminar on the culture of peace and peaceful conflict resolution for soccer coaches/mentors participating in the Academy (d) educate youth on physical activity, eating healthy, self-esteem, prevent juvenile delinquency (e) hosting tournaments, to include social, and cultural activities to raise awareness and support for 2015 sports academy.

Through World Street Peace through Sports, participants of all ages are shown the hidden benefits of hula hooping, juggling, yoga and natural movements that we can do every day to preserve our health both physically and mentally.

Further, through our Community Gardens Volunteer Program World Street Peace through Sports will teach children and youth about agriculture, seeds, potting planting create action while implementing community gardens, painting and organizing for overall organization. Additionally, our youth will learn how to grow herbs and spices from home, as well as perform fundraisers for farming equipment intended for rural areas of Brazil.

Finally, the task NFF has initiated a wafer marking experiment where wafers (100 mm flatted, 150 mm notched) with front and back-surface marks (i.e., data matrix and OCR) will be subjected to various surface modifications (e.g., slicing, grinding, polishing, GaN Ep). The goal of this experiment is to characterize mark survivability, mark width and depth.

SUMMARY

New Future Foundation Inc. is an NGO /Private Volunteer Organization with consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. The foundations activities are largely related to our youth as we endeavor to expose them, as well as young professionals, to international affairs and entrepreneurship.

Our current activities revolve around the innovation of its young leadership who are officers and members of the board. The young professionals are working with the United Nations, international agencies and the private sector initiating domestic and international projects and programs to increase the quality of health, access to education, and sustainable business and economic development. NFF has been focused on the "Stop the Violence" movement since 1998 and in 1995 New Future Foundation hosted "The World Street Peace Summit", during the time at the UN when Secretary General Kofi Annan appointed Muhammad Ali and Michael Douglas as "Messengers of Peace" on the International Day of Peace. NFF members attended the 2001 UN session on disarmament, and NFF students volunteered with host country Canada during June through August exhibit of the small arms sculpture made of guns and knives displayed in the public entrance hall at the UN. We are also involved with the Million Youth March, Stop The Violence Movement, and support the community and victims of gun violence such as Amadou Diallo, who was shot 41 times, and currently Trayvon Martin. We have had a presence in the Hip-hop culture since the 80's, and continue to use the arts and music to reach the youth in our communities globally. Sixty (60) delegates of NFF participated in "The World Festival of Black Arts and Culture" (FESMAN) held in Senegal 2010.

In 2011 NFF members participated in a walk for peace organized by the National Action Network from the United Nations to 42nd Street Times Square. NFF youth participated in the Peace Ceremony where the Secretary General Ban Ki-moon rang the peace bell in the garden at the United Nations 2013. NFF participated in an interfaith program honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Day by visiting a Mosque in Harlem, a synagogue on the Upper East Side, and a church on Park Avenue in an event and discussion on unity and non-violence in January 2014. Within the United Nations NFF women attended and facilitated a side event during the CSW58 Forum in March 2014. NFF youth and affiliates supported the Permanent Mission of El Salvador and Ambassador Carlos Garcia in the screening of the inspirational documentary entitled “B-Boy for Life” that took place in April 2014 at the ECOSOC Chamber at UN headquarters.

The mission of New Future Foundation is to facilitate international and domestic sustainable economic social development, community outreach, education through the arts, recreation, physical activity and health.

NFF's approach is to prepare our youth for a very challenging world. For our children to take on anything for themselves, they have to master their environment—that means going out and developing skillets, gain street-smarts, become savvy, understand what their risks are and observe themselves overcoming obstacles. self confidence will inspire not only perseverance in them but the spirit to protect and take care of their communities as well.

Next is for our youth to be an example to surrounding cities worldwide. Once we have raised

the physical, mental and spiritual health of our youth to develop themselves both

personally and professionally—they can further inspire their stories in the global community so they too can give that passion back to their communities where they live—where they can encourage that same obligation and inspire others.

The New Future Foundation was founded in 1969 by Queen Mother Dr. Delois Blakely, a nun of ten years who left the convent so she could relate more directly to the problems of less fortunate children. New Future Foundation offers an opportunity for its youths from multi-ethnic and multi-economic backgrounds to understand and share their own backgrounds and

explore the backgrounds of others. It attempts to develop a strong sense of identity in each child while the child is meeting, associating and appreciating children from all areas of life. The Foundation’s initial activities consisted of summer programs in 1969 and 1970. The summer programs at that time provided participating youngsters with trips to the country, ice skating, fishing, educational field trips, and professional guidance through classes in sketching, sculpting, creative poetry, reading and writing. They also met foreign dignitaries, observed a real “pow wow” that took place at the Shennecock Indian reservation, went fishing in Prospect Park, and

had a fish fry, hiked, and rode horses. The New Future Foundation program, which provided 300 New York City youngsters with enlightened education in what is termed “multi-sensory development activities” and “street education,” also provided constructive outlets and work-based salaries for at least 90 concerned high school and college students throughout the New York City area.

PROJECT: QUEEN MOTHER OF REALITY

Queen Mother of Reality by Paweł Althamer is a monumental, mixed media sculpture of an elegant figure that is peacefully reclining in the shaded southern section of the park overlooking the East River waterfront. Althamer’s sculpture is dedicated to and inspired by “Queen Mother”

Dr. Delois Blakely, a U.S. Ambassador of Goodwill to Africa, who has been the Community Mayor of Harlem since she was sworn in by Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in 1995.

Queen Mother of Reality serves as a call to highlight the numerous displaced and homeless of New York City – Dr. Blakely’s paramount cause.

Originally built as a part of Althamer’s Performa Commission in 2013, Queen Mother of Reality at Socrates Sculpture Park will act as a platform for creative dialogue and interactive programming, reflecting the park’s commitment to engaging audiences through public art. This spring the sculpture was reassembled by Althamer and his collaborators – a team of artists and community members, including artists Noah Fischer, Roman Stańczak, Rafal Zwirek, Jim Costanzo, Brian Fernandes-Halloran, and Eric Gottshall (aka the Aaron Burr Society), as well as the artist’s sons Bruno Althamer and Szymon Althamer.

Continuing Althamer’s commitment to social collaboration, which underlines most of his work, Socrates and the artist will program workshops, events, and talks throughout the summer that will invoke Dr. Blakely’s pursuits of social justice and community building. The sculpture is situated in the midst of an active community. The park is surrounded by three of the nation’s largest public housing complexes (Astoria, Ravenswood, and Queensbridge Houses), and the local community has been a park stakeholder since its creation in 1986.

May 11, 2014, a Mother’s Day celebration took place during the opening, featuring art-making workshops presented by Minor Miracles Foundation and an experimental social project titled Nails Across America by artist Breanne Trammell.

PROGRAMMING WILL DEVELOP THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER.

Queen Mother of Reality is presented by Socrates Sculpture Park in collaboration with Performa, and in partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute New York.

The Exhibition Program at Socrates Sculpture Park is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Charina Endowment Fund, Lambent Foundation, Mark Di Suvero, the Maxine and Stuart Frankel Foundation, Agnes Gund, Ivana Mestrovic, and the Thomas W. Smith Foundation.

Queen Mother of Reality is a Performa Commission and was originally presented as part of the Polish Pavilion Without Walls for Performa 13. The commission was generously supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, National Endowment for the Arts and Toby Devan Lewis, with additional support from Foksal Gallery Foundation (Warsaw), neugerriemschneider (Berlin), Fundacja Sztuka i Współczesność, CCA Ujazdowski Castle, and Polish Ministry of Cultural and National Heritage, Tilton Gallery.

YOUTH VOLUNTEER DAY

NFF initiative includes an extensive community engagement process with local organizations and residents identifying and securing community involvement for our parks to be transformed into a people’s park. Through the efforts of neighborhood youth and youth organizations, NFF

will oversee a full day of community cleanup, in our attempt of increase community support and teamwork volunteering.

In the course of a day, we look to have a total of two hundred students which will be split up into groups of fifty and escorted to the following 4 Park Locations:

Queens: Socrates Sculpture Park

Brooklyn: Fort Greene Park

Manhattan: Mt. Morris Park

The Bronx: Poe Park

Parent volunteers will accompany the youth along with security to ensure the safety of all youth volunteers that participate. The groups will assist in cleaning the park venues and will be supplied with lunch and transportation starting at the United Nations Church Center to each park location.

YOUTH WORKSHOPS

NFF endorses the United Nations “He for She” campaign to stop violence against woman. We support our mothers of the global community and will educate the youth to honor women through art and cultural workshops. We are requesting endorsement from the United Nations Missions and Delegates to come.

ENSURING A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE

Having individuals act on their own responsibility.

Youth that have no voice have been marginalized in society, and if there’s no positive force to show by example, outcome is futile. The proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” is sometimes pointless if there is either nobody to turn to or someone putting their agenda ahead of our youths. Unfortunately, many prevention programs are given short window periods in which to show progress, and are often terminated before the final results are even seen. NFF realizes that there is a gap, and an even shorter time span, between “putting talk into practice” and utilizing its resources where youth can relate to for “listening and understanding”.

Peace, education and reconciliation will be part of our forum and will be carried out routinely through all events. Our message is meant for action toward the youth but we believe that, parent, community, police, state and congress can learn much from this agenda.

WHEELS & ART IN THE PARK FESTIVAL FUNDRAISER

OVERVIEW:

New Future Foundation Inc. (NFF) is in the process of building safe havens globally as well as other sustainable programs for the youth. Our communities have been missing an outlet for

this generation of youth to properly develop and express themselves. Building more safety and prevention programs in parks, and recreational facilities around the world will give them other ways to occupy their time with productive activities, and hopefully help decrease the violence, drugs, and spread of STD's on a global scale. In doing so we do our part in resolving these issues by giving the youth alternative recreation from a positive standpoint. Furthermore, the result will be a better community for a better tomorrow.

NFF wants to have all local Parks and Recreation organizations benefit from our next fundraising event tour “Wheels & Art in the Park Festival”. A percentage of all proceeds will be gladly donated to all Parks and Recreations venues utilized for our event. We are planning the festival to be held for Summer 2014, exact date [T.B.A] and negotiated with the venues. We want the whole global community to be involved. We plan to include all major county organizations like County Health Departments, Sheriff's Offices, County Mass Transit, Libraries, Police Departments, Newspapers, local news and radio stations, major TV stations etc. We looks forward to working with all community organizations in making this event an overall success. In doing so we hope to make it an annual event to raise funds for community organizations.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

THE "WHEELS & ART IN THE PARK FESTIVAL" WILL BE A TWO DAY EVENT.

NFF looks to cover 10-cities [over a course of how many weeks?] and given the size of cities, we've decided the focus of the campaign in the most efficient way would be [ex., CD / Book signings] with major artists. The concert will be a 2 day event in each city. Show times will be 10am - 9 pm both days as long as permitted. We will have events and vendors set up throughout the entire outdoor venue. The events will be as follows:

EVENTS:

Celebrity Concert (Rock the Bike powered stage)

Local Talent Showcase

Wheels 4 Arts Competition

BMX Freestyle Showcase

CELEBRITY CONCERT:

We look to put together a team of talented artists that will keep the crowd hyped. The crowd can expect to be entertained from morning to night, with rock hard hits. They are known for blowing up the spot with rhythm and nothing but flavor that will have you bouncing to the beat in true style. During the concert, the audience will get a chance to Rock-out to a Bike Powered Stage who will entertain the crowed with bright and colorful Bicycle Generators that pedal power to the stage while they update the crowd throughout the event (introducing speakers of our sponsors, as a vehicle for corporate brand building) to maximize the educational potential

of the activity. Announcements regarding more celebrity guests will be announced throughout the days' events as part of an ongoing series of campaign-related announcements leading up to the event and possible live telecast.

Show time will be from 6pm - 9pm Saturday and Sunday and will take place on a stage set up on the “Queen Mother of Reality“ at Socrates Sculpture Park where celebrity artists will be performing throughout the day. For those who purchase an "all access pass", they will be seated near the event stage. Outside the stage area, a large projection screen will be placed so those attending the festival who choose not to buy an all access pass can still view the concert. Approximately 8 artists will be performing each day.

The lineup is subject to change once all expenses have been paid and all sponsorship is approved. Artists will be confirmed once venues have been secured and dates set. Among the artist lineup we've included in the planning process, those who we feel will bring on sponsorship opportunities, by name alone:

LOCAL TALENT SHOWCASE

Prior to main concert and during intermissions between celebrity performances, there will be a community involved with a local artist talent showcase. Artists must pre-register to perform, and they must pass screening prior to event as well. Audition dates (t.b.a) and upon auditioning a registration fee of $100 will be charged to those chosen to perform for the events. Auditioning will be open to the public and NFF will judge and choose approximately 10-20 local artists to perform both days of the festival from each city. All talent from singing, rapping, poetry, and dancing will be considered. Online auditions and locations for auditions (t.b.a).

WHEELS FOR ART COMPETITION

NFF is an eco-friendly organization and we utilize sustainable energy, and eco-efficient technologies whenever we see possible. The “Wheels & Art in the Park Festival” will have a pedal powered stage provided by Rock the Bike. We intend to have professional BMX riders power the stage while competing in a relay race alongside the concert stage.

BMX FREESTYLE SHOWCASE:

Freestyle is a question of executing figures and jumps. It can be carried out on the flat, on obstacles or on a ramp. Initiated freestylers meet between themselves or during contests, of which the most well-known is the X-Games. Riders are judged on their figures (difficulty, originality and style). During both days we will have a ramp setup for participating BMX Riders to show off their skills.

FESTIVAL VENDORS & BOOTHS

NFF will allow the community to set up the following vendor booths throughout the venues both days of the event as long as they have a vendor license or licensed business:

Food

Art's and Crafts

Music

Clothing & Accessories

Non-Profit Organizations

6. Community Organizations

VENDORS:

Each vendor must pay half of vendor fees ranging from $500 - $3000 for both days of event prior to event and the other half the day of event at setup time. All vendor fee details will be further explained in the vendor contract and will vary depending on merchandise being sold and set up location at venue site. We intend to have up to 100 vendors at each event.

BOOTHS:

Several booths will be set up throughout the park. Each sponsor may set up a booth to market their company at no extra cost if desired. NFF will also have free drinks supplied by a major beverage sponsor to ensure no attendants are dehydrated throughout event. We will have popcorn and cotton candy booths at an inexpensive cost for the youth as well as clown booths set up in various locations. We also want to work with the county blood donation centers and American Red Cross to run a blood drive during the event.

EVENT PROMOTERS:

Entertainment and event planners, in addition to event promoters, will deliver a refined project management process that will smoothly integrates complex creative, promotion, and elements of corporate sponsorships. From event planning, securing licenses/agreements, through promotion and implementation, there needs to be total project accountability to our sponsors. It goes both ways. We help our sponsors accomplish their corporate event objectives.

There will be radio coverage 2-weeks before the date of the event (definitely through WBAI in the evenings to their listners "Where We Live"), bring sights and review of the artist’s performances, guests, dance competition and hottest DJs. All acts will be photographed. Announcements will be made before, during and after the event.
