In a media career spanning over 20 years, Nicole Byers has worked across a number of high profile weekly and monthly magazines both in Australia and the UK – including monthly titles New Woman, SHE and B Magazine as well as music monthly Ministry. Cutting her teeth as a sub-editor, writer and entertainment editor, for the past 10 years Nicole has edited many of the country’s most successful weekly titles, including TV WEEK, NW, Woman’s Day and OK! Magazine. Nicole has been Editor of OK! Magazine for the past seven years and Editor-in-Chief across NW and OK! Australia since 2014, a role that has encompassed print, digital and social platforms across these two well- loved brands.

Samantha Trenoweth is a journalist with more than 30 years’ experience, writing for newspapers, magazines, books, online and radio. As News and Features Editor for The Australian Women’s Weekly this year she has written features as varied as the Rohingya and Syrian refugee crisis, Nigella Lawson, paralympian Jessica Smith, women changing the face of Judaism, Islam and Christianity, as well as women of the drought and the Tathra fires.

Juliet RiedenEDITOR AT LARGE

Editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly and Managing Editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly one shots on subjects ranging from health, to homes, royals, food, colouring in and finance, Juliet is also the magazine’s Royal Correspondent, books editor and edited its 80th birthday souvenir issue.

At The Weekly in addition to her Editor responsibilities, Juliet has forged impeccable contacts, especially with the royal families in Denmark and the UK and scored global exclusives with HRH Prince Charles and Crown Princess Mary. Juliet’s other exclusive interviews include Magda Szubanski, Maggie Tabberer, Dame Helen Mirren, Julianne Moore, Susan Duncan and more. Mattie CronanSTYLE DIRECTOR

Mattie started her tenure with The Australian Women’s Weekly in 2011, and appointed as Style Director in 2013, Mattie continues to lead the fashion team to create concepts for the fashion pages, celebrity shoots and covers – bringing the pages to life.

Growing up in a family of dress makers led Mattie to study Fashion Design at the prestigious East Sydney Fashion Design Studio. After meeting Judith Cook (former InStyle and AWW Style Director) Mattie decided to move into the world of publishing and magazines, a career that has spanned over 13 years.

Mattie has had many great achievements as Style Director at The Weekly. Most notably working as the stylist and the creative vision for the 80th Birthday special Issue cover with Crown Princess Mary photographed in Denmark, a cover which won the team a Maggie award for the Best Lifestyle Cover in 2013.

Fran Abdallaoui FOOD DIRECTOR

With almost 25 years at The Australian Women’s Weekly, Fran began her career at Bauer Media in the Test Kitchen as a young home economist in 1994 triple-testing thousands of recipes for The Weekly’s world renowned cookbooks and the magazine. Honing her skills in food editing earned Fran various roles across the food team and is now food director of The Weekly. Fran enthuses “this really is my dream job, I love all that The Weekly stands for – trust, integrity and incredible heritage. The Weekly’s recipe pages over time have tracked Australia’s culinary history of the home kitchen. It’s shaped what Australian’s cook today! Fran’s multifaceted role as the food ambassador for The Australian Women’s Weekly ensures every recipe published in the magazine is delicious, easy to cook with guaranteed success. Professor Kerryn Phelps MEDICAL PRACTITIONER

Professor Kerryn Phelps is Adjunct Professor at Sydney University in the Faculty of Medicine in the Schools of Public Health and General Practice.Professor Phelps has been a familiar face to many Australians over the last 20 years during which time she has appeared regularly on television, radio and in the print media informing the Australian public on important health issues. Professor Phelps has been the medical practitioner for The Australian Women’s Weekly for over 15 years, and she also writes regular political commentary for Medical Observer Magazine and Australian Wine Selector Magazine.

campaign celebrates young women determined to make a difference in Australia’s future across a variety of industries.

In its 5th year the prize bursary is open to women 18 – 34 years old and the prize pool totalled at

$100,000 shared amongst 3 winners.

Our winners were judged by a high profile panel of Australia’s most influential women including, Lisa Wilkinson (Co-host,

Today Show), Lucy Turnbull (Businesswoman, lawyer and wife of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull), Julie Bishop (Foreign

Minister) and Olivia Wirth (Qantas Group Executive).

Australia’s first female Governor-General is Patron of the Women of the Future Awards, the Hon. Dame Quentin Bryce,
