Merits of the night of 15th

Sha’ban:

Imam Ja`far al-¯adiq (a.s) has narrated that when Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s)

was asked about the merits of the fifteenth night of Sha`ban, he answered, “It is the

most favorable night after the Qadr Night. At this night, Allah (swt) bestows upon

His servants with His favors and grants them His pardon.

Therefore, you should exert all efforts for seeking nearness to Allah (swt) at this

night, because He—Majestic and Honorable is He—has decided not to reject and

beggar so long as an act of disobedience is asked.

Allah (swt) has chosen this night for us, the Ahl al-Bayt, in the same way as He has

chosen the Qadr Night for our Prophet—peace be upon him and his Family. You

should thus pray Allah (swt) and thank Him diligently.”

The Holy Prophet (saws) has said that during the night of 15th Sha’ban, Allah (swt)

takes decisions in the matters of sustenance, life and death and welfare of the

people.

Also, at the dawn of this night, the 12th Imam, Imam Mohammed Mahdi (atfs) was

born in Samarrah in the year 255 AH.

It is highly recommended to spend this whole night with acts of worship, prayers,

supplications, invocations and prayers for forgiveness. A °ad¢th has confirmed that

as for one who spends this whole night with acts of worship, his heart will not die

when other hearts die.

The first thing that that Salik (the Wayfarer on the path towards Allah, Glorified

and Exalted is He) must perform on this night is that he must remove the material

pleasures and enjoyments of this world from in front of his eyes (and from his

heart) and in order to make the most of this special night and ensure that all of his

actions are performed properly.

He must think to himself that tonight is his last night on this Earth (meaning that

tomorrow he shall die) and thus, he will no longer have the opportunity to perform

any more good deeds and that tomorrow the Day of Judgment will take place.

Recommneded Acts for the Night of 15th

Sha’ban:

Take Ghusl (Bath) with the thought of washing away sins & as if it ’s your

last Ghusl

It is recommended to mention Allah (swt) by the following invocation

one hundred times so that one’s past acts of disobedience to Allah (swt)

will be forgiven and one’s worldly and religious needs will be settled:

;All glory be to Allah سبحان الله،

;all praise be to Allah والحمد لله،

there is no god save الله، وال إله إال

Allah;

;Allah is the Greatest والله أكبر،

Recite 100 times 'Astaghfirullah ' with attention to seeking forgiveness.

Ziyarah of Imam Husain for the night of 15th

Sha`ban

In his book of ‘al-Balad al-Amin’, Shaykh al-Kafàmiy has reported Imam al-

¯adiq (a.s) as saying that one may stop at the holy tomb of Imam al -°usayn

(a.s) and say the following:

All praise be to Allah; the Most علي العظيمألحمد هلل ال

High, the All-great.

والسالم عليك أيها العبد الح الزكيالص

Peace be upon you; O the righteous,

pure servant (of Allah).

ي لك اودعك شهادة منتقربني إليك في يوم

فاعتك،ش

I entrust with you a testimony of

mine that takes me near you on the

day of your intercession (for some

people).

I bear witness that although you أشهد أنك قتلت ولم تمت

were slain, you have not died;

ت بل برجاء حياتك حيي قلوب شيعتك،

Rather the hearts of your adherents

(Sh¢àh) are living on the hope of

your being alive;

وبضياء نورك اهتدى البون إليك،الط

And by the light of your

illumination have those seeking you

been guided (to the right path).

وأشهد أنك نور اهلل الذي لم يطفأ وال يطفأ أبدا،

And I bear witness that you are

verily the Light of Allah that has not

and shall never be extinguished.

وأنك وجه اهلل الذي لم يهلك وال يهلك أبدا،

And you are verily the Face of Allah

that has not and shall never be

perishing.

وأشهد أن هذه التربة تربتك،

And I bear witness that this soil is

yours,

.And this holy precinct is yours وهذا الحرم حرمك،

And this death is the death of your وهذا المصرع مصرع بدنك

body only,

While you have never been واهلل معزك ال ذليل

humiliated since Allah is the One

Who is pouring honor upon you

And you have never been defeated وال مغلوب واهلل ناصرك،

since Allah is the One Who is

supporting you.

هذه شهادة لي عندك إلى يوم قبض روحي بحضرتك،

I would like you to keep this

testimony of mine with you up to the

day when my soul will be grasped in

the presence of you.

والسالم عليكم ورحمة اهلل .كاتهوبر

Peace and Allah’s mercy and

blessings be upon you.


Supplication as a form of Ziyarah for the 12th

Imam

It is recommended to recite the following supplication, which stand for a form of

Ziyarah for the Concealed Imam al-Mahdi (a.s). this supplication has been

mentioned by both Sayyid Ibn ±aw£s and Shaykh al-±£siy:

O Allah: I beseech You in the

name of this night and in the

name of him whom was born

at it

ليلتنا هذه بحق اللهم ومولودها

and in the name of Your

Argument and in the name of

Your promise in it, تك وموعودها،وحج

the night that You have added

a new merit to its many merits

تي قرنت إلى فضلها ال ،فضال

So, Your Word has been

accomplished truly and fairly;

ت كلمتك صدقا فتم ،وعدال

no one can change Your

words, ل لكلماتك،ال مبد

nor obscure Your signs, ب آلياتك،وال معق (He is) Your glowing Light ق،نورك المتأل and Your bring splendor ،وضياؤك المشرق

and the luminous sign in the

obscurity of darkness

ور في طخياء والعلم الن يجور،الد

and the absent and the

concealed, الغائب المستور

Lofty is his birth and noble is

his lineage

مولده، وكرم جل محتده،

and the angels are his

witnesses ده،والمالئكة شه


and Allah is his Supporter and

Backer ده،والله ناصره ومؤي

when his time comes and the

angels shall be his sponsors;

إذا آن ميعاده والمالئكة أمداده،

(He shall act as) the sword of

Allah that shall never miss the

target, ذي ال ينبو،سيف الله ال

and His light that shall never

be extinguished ذي ال يخبو،ونوره ال

And the forbearing person who

shall never deviate the truth.

ذي ال وذو الحلم ال يصبو،

and the motive and reason of

the course of events, هر،مدار الد

and the one for whom the laws

of ages have been made ونواميس العصر،

and (one of) the men of

authority ووالة األمر،

who receive that which is

revealed on the Grand Night.

ل عليهم ما والمنز ل في ليلة القدر،يتنز

and the managers of the

Resurrection and the Account;

وأصحاب الحشر شر،والن

(They are) the interpreters of

His revelations تراجمة وحيه،

and in charge of what is

deemed lawful and what is

deemed unlawful by Him. .ووالة أمره ونهيه

O Allah: send blessings on

their seal and their Riser

على فصل اللهم خاتمهم وقائمهم

whom is hidden from their

world. .المستور عن عوالمهم

O Allah: (please) make us

causes for the coming of him, وأدرك بنا أيامه اللهم


and causes for his advent and

reappearance وظهوره وقيامه،

and (please) include us with

his supporters واجعلنا من أنصاره،

and join our vengeance to his واقرن ثأرنا بثأره،

and decide us to be among his

assistants and retinue.

واكتبنا في أعوانه وخلصائه،

and make us live in bliss in his

reign,

وأحينا في دولته ناعمين،

and make us win the ecstasy of

his companionship, ،وبصحبته غانمين

and make us of those who

carry out our duty toward him, ه قائمين،وبحق

and save us from evil. وء سالمين،ومن الس O the most Merciful of all

those who show mercy. يا أرحم الراحمين،

All praise be to Allah, Lord of

the worlds.

والحمد لله رب العالمين،

His blessings be upon our

master, Mu¦ammad

دنا وصلواته على سي د محم

the seal of the Prophets and

the Messengers,

ين بيخاتم الن والمرسلين

and upon his Household, the

veracious,

بيته على أهلو الصادقين

and his offspring, the

spokespersons of the truth, وعترته الناطقين،

and curse all the wrongdoers ،والعن جميع الظالمين


and judge between them and

us واحكم بيننا وبينهم

O the Most Just of all judges. أحكم الحاكمين يا.


Ziyara Isteghasa of Imam Zaman

In his book of al-Kalim al-±ayyib, Sayyid Àl¢ Kh¡n says, “The following is a

form of seeking aid from The Argument of Allah and the Patron of the Age

(Imam al-Mahd¢)—peace be upon him: Wherever you are, you may offer a

two-unit prayer, reading S£rah al-F¡ti¦ah and any other one in each unit. Yet,

it is advisable to read S£rah al-Fat¦ (No. 48) in the first unit and S£rah al-

Na¥r (No. 110) in the second. You may then stand up, facing the kiblah

direction under the sky and then say the following:

,Peace of Allah—perfect, complete سالم ٱلله ٱلكامل ٱلتام

;comprehensive, and thorough ٱلشامل ٱلعام

and His endless benedictions وصلواته ٱلدائمة

and His everlasting, perfect blessings وبركاته ٱلقائمة ٱلتامة

,be upon the Argument of Allah على حجة ٱلله

His representative in His lands and رضه وبالدهأووليه في

realm,

His viceroy among His creatures and وخليفته على خلقه وعبادهservants,

,the offspring of Prophethood وساللة ٱلنبوة

the completion of the (Holy) Progeny وبقية ٱلعترة وٱلصفوة

and the Choice Ones,

,the Patron of the Age صاحب ٱلزمان

,the demonstrator of the (true) faith ومظهر ٱإليـمان

,the teacher of the laws of the Qur’¡n نحكام ٱلقرآأوملقن

,the purger of the earth رضومطهر ٱأل

,the spreader of justice all over the earth وناشر ٱلعدل في ٱلطول وٱلعرض

-the Argument (al-°ujjah), the Riser (al وٱلحجة ٱلقائم ٱلمهدي

Q¡’im), the Well-guided (al-Mahd¢),

,the Leader, the Awaited, the Pleased ٱإلمام ٱلمنتظر ٱلمرضي


,the descendant of the Infallible Imams ئمة ٱلطاهرينوٱبن ٱأل

the Successor, the son of the Pleased وصياء ٱلمرضيينٱلوصي ٱبن ٱأل

Successors (of the Prophets),

,the Guide, the Immaculate ٱلهادي ٱلمعصوم

and the son of the Imams—the guides ئمة ٱلهداة ٱلمعصومينٱبن ٱأل

and immaculate.

السالم عليك يا معز ٱلمؤمنين ينٱلمستضعف

Peace be upon you, O grantor of dignity

to the oppressed and faithful ones.

السالم عليك يا مذل ٱلكافرين ٱلمتكبرين ٱلظالمين

Peace be upon you, O humiliator of the

arrogant and oppressing unbelievers.

ا موالي يا صاحب السالم عليك ي ٱلزمان

Peace be upon you, O my master, the Patron of the Age.

Peace be upon you, O son of Allah’s السالم عليك يا بن رسول ٱلله

Messenger.

مير أالسالم عليك يا بن ٱلمؤمنين

Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Believers.

السالم عليك يا بن فاطمة ٱلزهراء

Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah the

Luminous

and the Doyenne of the women of the سيدة نساء ٱلعالمين

world.

ئمة السالم عليك يا بن ٱأل جج ٱلمعصومينٱلح

Peace be upon you, O son of the

Imams—the arguments (of Allah) and

Immaculate

.and the leader of all creatures جمعينأوٱإلمام على ٱلخلق

Peace be upon you, O my master السالم عليك يا موالي

addressed by him who is loyal to your ك في ٱلواليةسالم مخلص ل(divinely commissioned) leadership.

-I bear witness that you are the wellنك ٱإلمام ٱلمهدي قوال أشهد أ

guided Imam in word and deed,


وفعال

طا رض قسٱأل أانت ٱلذي تملأو وعدال

it is you who shall fill the earth with

justice and impartiality

after it will be filled with wrong and بعد ما ملئت ظلما وجورا

partiality.

,So, may Allah hasten your reappearance فعجل ٱلله فرجك

,make easy your advent كوسهل مخرج

,make nearer the time of your coming وقرب زمانك

increase the number of your supporters عوانكأنصارك وأوكثر

and backers,

and fulfill for you all that which He has نجز لك ما وعدكأوpromised you.

He is surely the most truthful of all those :صدق ٱلقائلينأفهو

who can speak (and He has said):

ن نمن على ٱلذين أونريد ) رضٱستضعفوا في ٱأل

“We desired to bestow a favor upon

those who were deemed weak in the

land,

make them the Imams, and make them (ئمة ونجعلهم ٱلوارثينأعلهم ونج

the heirs.”

!O my master! O Patron of the Age يا موالي يا صاحب ٱلزمان

!O son of Allah’s Messenger يا بن رسول ٱلله

...My request is …حاجتي

Mention your need and then go on saying:

,So, intercede for me so that it will be settled فٱشفع لي في نجاحها

for I am turning my face towards you for settling فقد توجهت إليك بحاجتي

my request,

since I know for sure that you enjoy with Allah اعة مقبولةلعلمي أن لك عند ٱلله شفadmissible word of intercession,


.and praiseworthy standing ومقاما محمودا

فبحق من ٱختصكم بأمرهSo, I ask you in the name of Him Who granted

you (i.e. the Ahl al-Bayt) exclusively the right of representing Him,

,and admitted you all to keep His secrets وٱرتضاكم لسره

and I ask you in the name of the standing that you ٱلذي لكم عند ٱلله بينكم وبينه نوبٱلشا

exclusively enjoy with Allah,

to ask Allah, the Exalted, to render successful my سل ٱلله تعالى في نجح طلبتيrequest,

,to answer my prayer وإجابة دعوتي

.and to relieve my grief وكشف كربتي

You may then ask for whatever you want, and it will be settled for you, by Allah’s

permission.



Shaykh Isma`¢l ibn Fa¤l al-Hashimiy has narrated that Imam Ja`far al-¯adiq (a.s)

instructed him to recite the following supplication at the fifteenth night of Sha`ban:

O Allah: You are verily the ومالقي أنت الحي اللهم

Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting,

,the Most High, the All-great العظيم العلي

,the Creator, the Sustainer الخالق الرازق

the Giver of live, the Causer of المحيي المميت

death,

.the Originator, the Maker البديء البديع،

To You is the Majesty لك الجالل،

,and to You is the favor ولك الفضل،

,and to You is all praise ولك الحمد،

,and to You is thanks ،ولك المن

,and to You is magnanimity ولك الجود،

,and to You is generosity ولك الكرم،

,and to You do belong all affairs ولك األمر،

,and to You is glory ولك المجد،

;and to You is gratitude كر،ولك الش

You are alone without having وحدك ال شريك لك،

any partner with You.

O the One: O the Absolute: O أحد يا صمد يا واحد يا

the Besought of all:

O He Who neither begets nor is يا من لم يلد ولم يولد

He begotten,

.and there is none like to Him ولم يكن له كفوا أحد،

دد وآل محمعلى محم صل(please do) bless Mu¦ammad

and the Household of

Mu¦ammad


and forgive me; and have mercy واغفر لي وارحمني

upon me;

and relieve me from whatever نيواكفني ما أهم

has aggrieved me;

;and help me settle my debt واقض ديني،

;and expand my provisions في رزقي، عليع ووس

أمر يلة كلك في هذه اللفإن حكيم تفرق،

for You, at this night, make

distinct all affairs of wisdom;

ومن تشاء من خلقك ترزق،and You grant sustenance to

whomever You wish among

Your creatures.

فارزقني وأنت خير الرازقين،So, (please do) grant me

sustenance and You are verily

the Best of sustainers.

ك قلت وأنت خير فإن :القائلين الناطقين

You have said—and You are the

Best of those who speak and

utter—

”.Ask Allah of His bounty“ (واسألوا الله من فضله)

;I thus ask You of Your bounty فمن فضلك أسأل،

;and to You do I turn my face وإياك قصدت،

and the intercession of Your ك اعتمدت،وابن نبي

Prophet’s son do I seek;

.and for You do I hope ولك رجوت،

.فارحمني يا أرحم الراحمينSo, (please do) have mercy upon

me; O the most Merciful of all

those who show mercy.


It is recommended to say this supplication, which the Holy Prophet (a.s) used to

recite at this night:

O Allah: (please do) grant us an اقسم لنا من خشيتك اللهم

amount of fearfulness of You

that prevents us from committing ما يحول بيننا وبين معصيتك،

acts of disobedience to You;

غنا به ن طاعتك ما تبلوم رضوانك،

and an amount of obedience to

You that makes us attain Your

satisfaction;

ومن اليقين ما يهون علينا به .نيامصيبات الد

and an amount of conviction that

help us tolerate the vicissitudes

of this worldly life.

أمتعنا بأسماعنا وأبصارنا اللهم تناوقو

O Allah: (please do) make us

enjoy our hearings, sights, and

powers

ما أحييتنا واجعله الوارث منا،so long as You decide to keep us

alive; and (please do) make it the

inheritor of us.

واجعل ثأرنا على من ظلمنا،And (please do) make us avenge

ourselves against them who

wrong us;

and back us against them who وانصرنا على من عادانا،

antagonize us;

and do not suffer misfortunes in ي ديننا،وال تجعل مصيبتنا ف

affairs of our religion;

نا وال نيا أكبر هموال تجعل الد مبلغ علمنا،

and do not make our worldly

affairs happen to be our greatest

concern or our utmost

knowledge;

and do set him who does not have نا من ال يرحمنا،ط عليوال تسل

mercy upon us as master over us;

.أرحم الراحمين برحمتك ياin the name of Your mercy; O the

most Merciful of all those who

show mercy.

Actually, this supplication is one of the perfect, comprehensive prayers that may be

recited at all times. In the word of the book of ‘Àwal¢ al-La’al¢’, the Holy Prophet

(a.s) used to recite this supplication at all times.


Salwaat Sha’baniyah

It is reported through authentic sources that Imam Zainul Abideen (as) used to

recite the following Salawat every day in Sha`ban at the time sun passes the

merdian (waqt-e-Zawal) and on the night of 15th

Sha`ban.

The salawat is as under & confirms the exhalted position of the Ahlulbayt

O Allah: (please do) send

blessings upon Mu¦ammad and

the Household of Mu¦ammad—

د على محم صل اللهم دمحم وآل

the tree of Prophethood; ة،بوشجرة الن and the trustees of the (Divine)

Mission; سالة،وموضع الر

and the frequently visited by the

angels; ومختلف المالئكة،

and the core of knowledge; ،ومعدن العلم and the Household of the Divine

Revelation. .وأهل بيت الوحي



the Family of Muhammad—

د على محم صل اللهم دوآل محم

the sailing ships through the

abysmal waves.

جج رية في اللالفلك الجا الغامرة،

He who embarks on will be saved ،يأمن من ركبها but he who abandons will be

drowned. ويغرق من تركها،

He who precedes them will miss

the Right Path م لهم مارق،المتقد

and he misses them will lose, ر عنهم زاهق،والمتأخ but he who adheres to them will

win. .والالزم لهم الحق

by Your might and power; O the

Lord of the worlds.

ة يا رببحول منك وقو .العالمين





the pure, the pious, the righteous بين األبرار األخيار،يالط whose rights have been made

incumbent upon us by You ذين أوجبت حقوقهم،ال

and the obedience to whom has

been deemed obligatory upon us

by You and whose (divinely

commissioned) leadership has

been (also) deemed obligatory

upon us by You.

وفرضت طاعتهم .وواليتهم



the Household of Mu¦ammad; د على محم صل مالله


دوآل محم

and fill in my heart with the

obedience to You; واعمر قلبي بطاعتك،

and do not disgrace me by acts of

disobedience to You; وال تخزني بمعصيتك،

and grant me the feeling of

sympathy towards those whom

You have decided to straighten

their sustenance

وارزقني مواساة من رت عليه من رزقكقت

by means of Your favors that

You have decided to make

expansive for me

من عت عليبما وس فضلك،

and by means of that with which

You have covered me out of Your

fairness; من عدلك، ونشرت علي

and make me live under Your

shade. ك،وأحييتني تحت ظل

This is the month of Your

Prophet and the Master of Your

Messengers.

د ك سيوهذا شهر نبي سلكر

It is Sha`ban, which You have

encompassed with Your mercy

and pleasure,

ذي حففته شعبان ال ضوانحمة والرمنك بالر

and on which the Messenger of

Allah—peace and blessings be

upon him and his Family—used

to observe fasting painstakingly

and used to spend it with acts of

worship

ذي كان رسول الله الصلى الله عليه وآله

م يدأب في صيامه وسل وقيامه

on all of its days and night في لياليه وأيامه

on account of Your honoring and

dignifying this month, up to his

death.

بخوعا لك في إكرامه وإعظامه إلى محل

.حمامه


O Allah: (please do) help us

follow the example of him (i.e.

the Holy Prophet as regards the

honoring of this month)

فأعنا على اللهم ته فيه،ان بسنستناإل

and help us attain nearness to

him. .فاعة لديهونيل الش

O Allah: (please do) decide him

as my interceder (before You)

whose intercession for me is

acceptable

واجعله لي شفيعا اللهم عا،مشف

and as my clear path toward You; ،وطريقا إليك مهيعا

and make me follow him until I

meet You on the Resurrection

Day enjoying Your pleasure with

me

بعا حتى واجعلني له متي ألقاك يوم القيامة عن

راضيا،and Your overlooking my sins ،وعن ذنوبي غاضيا

and thus You will confer upon

me with Your mercy and pleasure

قد أوجبت لي منك ضوان،حمة والرالر

and allow me to reside in the

Eternal Abode and the Place of

the Righteous.

القرار وأنزلتني دار .األخيار ومحل



Duà Kumayl

It is recommended to recite the famous Duà' Kumayl (The Supplication of Kumayl

ibn Ziyad):

الرحيم الرحمن الله بسمIn the Name of Allah, the

All-merciful, the All-

compassionate

برحمتك أسألك يإن اللهم شيء كل وسعت يالت

O Allah, I ask You by Your

mercy, which embraces all

things;

بها قهرتي الت وبقوتك شيء كل

And by Your strength,

through which You

dominatest all things,

And toward which all things شيء كل لها وخضع

are humble

And before which all things شيء كل لها وذل

are lowly;

بها تغلب يالت وبجبروتك شيء كل

And by Your invincibility

through which You

overwhelmest all things,

لها يقوم ال يالت وبعزتك شيء

And by Your might, which

nothing can resist;

كل مألت يالت وبعظمتك شيء

And by Your

tremendousness, which has

filled all things;

كل عال يالذ وبسلطانك شيء

by Your force, which towers

over all things;

فناء بعد يالباق وبوجهك شيء كل

And by Your face, which

subsists after the annihilation

of all things,

مألت يالت وبأسمائكAnd by Your Names, which

have filled the foundations of

all things;


شيء كل أركان

بكل أحاط يالذ وبعلمك شيء

And by Your knowledge,

which encompasses all

things;

له أضاء يالذ وجهك وبنور يءش كل

And by the light of Your

face, through which all

things are illumined!

!O Light! O All-holy قدوس يا نور يا

O First of those who are first األولين أول يا

And O Last of those who are اآلخرين آخر ويا

last!

الذنوب يل اغفر اللهم العصم تهتك يالت

O Allah, forgive me those

sins which tear apart

safeguards!

الذنوب يل اغفر اللهم النقم تنزل يالت


sins which draw down

adversities!

الذنوب يل اغفر اللهم النعم تغير يلتا


sins which alter blessings!

الذنوب يل اغفر اللهم الدعاء تحبس يالت

O Allah forgive me those

sins which hold back

supplication!

الذنوب يل اغفر اللهم لرجاءا تقطع يالت

O Allah forgive me those

sins which cut down the

hopes!

الذنوب يل اغفر اللهم البالء تنزل يالت


sins which draw down

tribulation!

ذنب كل يل اغفر اللهم خطيئة وكل أذنبته

O Allah, forgive me every

sin I have committed and

every mistake I have made!


أخطأتها

إليك أتقرب يإن اللهم بذكرك

O Allah, verily I seek

nearness to You through

remembrance of You,

And I seek intercession from نفسك يإل بك وأستشفع

You with Yourself,

أن بجودك وأسألك قربك من يتدنين

And I ask You through Your

munificence to bring me near

to Your proximity,

And to provide me with شكرك يتوزعن وأن

gratitude toward You

And to inspire me with Your ذكرك يتلهمن وأن

remembrance.

سؤال أسألك يإن اللهم أن خاشع متذلل خاضع

يوترحمن يتسامحن

O Allah, verily I ask You

with the asking of a

submissive, abased and lowly

man to show me forbearance,

to have mercy on me

راضيا بقسمك يوتجعلن األحوال جميع يوف قانعا،

متواضعا

And to make me satisfied and

content with Your

appointment and [make me]

humble in every state.

من سؤال وأسألك اللهم فاقته اشتدت

O Allah, I ask You the

question of one whose

indigence is extreme,

الشدائد عند بك وأنزل حاجته

And who has stated to You in

difficulties his need

And whose desire for what is رغبته عندك فيما وعظم

with You has become great.

وعال سلطانك عظم للهما مكانك

O Allah, Your force is

tremendous, Your place is

lofty,


أمرك وظهر مكرك يوخفAnd Your deception is

hidden, Your command is

manifest,

وجرت قهرك وغلب قدرتك

And Your domination is

overwhelming, Your power

is unhindered

من الفرار يمكن وال حكومتك

And escape from Your

governance is impossible.

O Allah, I find no forgiver of غافرا يلذنوب أجد ال اللهم

my sins,

Nor concealer of my ugly ساترا يلقبائح وال

acts

يعمل من لشيء وال مبدال بالحسن القبيح غيرك

Nor transformer of any of my

ugly acts into good acts but

You

!There is no god but You أنت إال إله ال

Glory be to You, and Thine وبحمدك سبحانك

is the praise!

,I have wronged myself ينفس ظلمت

And I have been audacious in يبجهل وتجرأت

my ignorance

ذكرك قديم يإل وسكنت علي ومنك يل

And I have depended upon

Your ancient remembrance of

me and Your favour toward

me.

!O Allah! O my Protector يموال اللهم

How many ugly things You سترته قبيح من كم

hast concealed!

البالء من فادح من وكم أقلته

How many burdensome

tribulations You hast

abolished!

And how many stumbles You وقيته عثار من وكم


hast prevented!

And how many ordeals You دفعته مكروه من وكم

hast repelled!

لست جميل ثناء من وكم نشرته له أهال

And how much beautiful

praise, for which I was

unworthy, You hast spread

abroad!

O Allah, my tribulation is يبالئ عظم همالل

tremendous,

And my bad state is يحال سوء يب وأفرط

excessive,

,And my acts are inadequate يأعمال يب وقصرت

And my fetters have tied me يأغالل يب وقعدت

down,

بعد يفعن عن يوحبسن يآمال

And my far-fetched hopes

have held me back from my

gain

بغرورها الدنيا يوخدعتن يومطال بجنايتها يونفس

And this world with its

delusions, my own soul with

its offences and my delay

have deceived me.

بعزتك فأسألك ييدس يا يدعائ عنك يحجب ال أن

يوفعال يعمل سوء

O my Master! So I ask You

by Your might not to let my

evil works and acts veil my

supplication from You,

ما بخفي يتفضحن وال يسر من عليه اطلعت

And not to disgrace me

through the hidden things

You knowest of my secrets

على بالعقوبة يتعاجلن وال يخلوات يف عملته ما

And not to hasten me to

punishment for what I have

done in private:

My evil acts in secrecy and وإساءتي، يفعل سوء من

my misdeeds

And my continuous يوجهالت يتفريط ودوام

negligence and my ignorance


And my manifold passions يوغفلت يشهوات وكثرة

and my forgetfulness.

يف يل بعزتك اللهم وكن وفارؤ األحوال كل

And by Your might, O Allah,

be kind to me in all states

األمور جميع يف وعلي عطوفا

And be gracious to me in all

affairs!

غيرك يل من يورب يإله والنظر يضر كشف أسأله

!أمري يف

My God and my Lord! Have

I any but You from whom to

ask removal of my affliction

and regard for my affairs!

علي أجريت يوموال يإله هوى فيه اتبعت حكما

نفسي،

My God and my Protector!

You put into effect through

me a decree in which I

followed the caprice of my

own soul

من فيه أحترس ولم عدوي، تزيين

And [I] did not remain wary

of adorning my enemy.

وأسعده أهوى ابم يفغرن القضاء ذلك على

So he deluded me through

my soul's caprice and therein

destiny favoured him

علي جرى بما جاوزتفت حدودك بعض ذلك من

So, in what was put into

effect through me in that

situation, I transgressed some

of Your statutes

And disobeyed some of Your أوامرك بعض وخالفت

commands.

يف علي الحجة فلك ذلك جميع

So Thine is the argument

against me in all of that

يجر فيما يل حجة وال قضاؤك، فيه علي

I have no argument in what

Your destiny put into effect

through me therein


وبالؤك حكمك يوألزمنnor in what Your decree and

Your tribulation imposed

upon me.

بعد يإله يا أتيتك وقد على يوإسراف يتقصير

ينفس

Now I have come to You, My

God, after my shortcoming

and my immoderation toward

myself,

,Proffering my excuse نادما، معتذرا

regretful,

,Broken, apologizing مستقيال منكسرا

,Asking forgiveness منيبا، مستغفرا

repenting,

,Acknowledging, submissive معترفا مذعنا مقرا

confessing.

I find no place to flee from يمن كان مما مفرا أجد ال

what occurred through me,

يف إليه أتوجه مفزعا وال يأمر

Nor any place of escape to

which I may turn in my

affairs,

عذري، قبولك غير سعة يف يإيا وإدخالك

رحمتك من

Other than Your acceptance

of my excuse and Your

entering me into the compass

of Your mercy.

O Allah, so accept my يعذر فاقبل اللهم

excuse,

Have mercy upon the يضر شدة وارحم

severity of my affliction

And release me from the يوثاق شد من يوفكن

tightness of my fetters,

ي بدن ضعف ارحم رب يا يعظم ودقةي جلد ورقة

My Lord, have mercy upon

the weakness of my body, the

thinness of my skin and the

frailty of my bones.

يوذكر يخلق بدأ من ياO You who gave rise to my

creation, to the remembrance

of me, to the nurture of me,


to goodness toward me and يوتغذيت يوبر يوتربيت

to nourishment on me,

كرمك البتداء يهبن يب برك وسالف

Bestow upon me for the sake

of Your having given rise [to

me] with generosity and

Your previous goodness to

me!

O Allah, my Master and my يورب يوسيد يإله يا

Lord!

بعد بنارك يمعذب أتراك توحيدك

Canst You see Yourself

tormenting me with Your fire

after I have professed Your

Unity

يقلب ليهع انطوى ما وبعد معرفتك من

And after the knowledge of

You my heart has embraced,

ذكرك من يلسان به ولهجAnd the remembrance of You

my tongue has constantly

mentioned

من يضمير واعتقده حبك

And the love of You to which

my mind has clung,

ياعتراف صدق وبعد لربوبيتك خاضعا يودعائ

And after the sincerity of my

confession and my

supplication, humble before

Your lordship?

أن من أكرم أنت هيهات ربيته من تضيع

Far be it from You! You art

more generous than that You

shouldst squander him whom

You hast nurtured,

Or banish him whom You أدنيته من تبعد أو

hast brought nigh,

Or drive away him whom آويته من تشرد أو

You hast given an abode

من البالء إلى تسلم أو ورحمته كفيته

Or submit to tribulation him

whom You hast spared and

shown mercy.

Would that I knew, my يسيد يا يشعر وليت

Master, My God and my


,Protector يوموال يوإله

وجوه على النار أتسلط ساجدة عظمتكل خرت

Whether You wilt give the

Fire dominion over faces

fallen down prostrate before

Your Tremendousness,

نطقت ألسن وعلى صادقة بتوحيدك مادحة وبشكرك

And over tongues voicing

sincerely the profession of

Your Unity and giving thanks

to You in praise,

اعترفت قلوب وعلى محققة بإلهيتك

And over hearts

acknowledging Your

Divinity through verification,

من حوت ضمائر وعلى صارت حتى بك العلم

خاشعة

And over minds

encompassing knowledge of

You until they have become

humble

إلى سعت جوارح وعلى طائعة تعبدك أوطان

باستغفارك وأشارت مذعنة

And over bodily members

speeding to the places of

Your worship in obedience

and beckoning for Your

forgiveness in submission.

وال بك الظن هكذا ما عنك بفضلك أخبرنا

No such opinion is held of

You! Nor has such been

reported - thanks to Your

bounty — concerning You,

,O All-generous! My Lord رب يا كريم، يا

عن يضعف علمت وأنت الدنيا بالء من قليل

وعقوباتها،

And You knowest my

weakness before a little of

this world's tribulations and

punishments,

And before those ordeals من فيها ييجر وما


,which befall its inhabitants أهلها على المكاره

ومكروه، بالء ذلك أن على بقاؤه، يسير مكثه، قليل مدته قصير

Even though it is a

tribulation and ordeal whose

stay is short, whose

subsistence is but little and,

whose period is but fleeting.

لبالء يمالاحت فكيف وقوع وجليل اآلخرة

!فيها المكاره

So how can I endure the

tribulations of the next world

and the great ordeals that

occur within it?

مدته، تطول بالء وهو يخفف وال مقامه، ويدوم

أهله عن

For it is a tribulation whose

period is long, whose station

endures and whose sufferers

are given no respite,

عن إال يكون ال ألنه وانتقامك غضبك

وسخطك

Since it only occurs as a

result of Your wrath, Your

vengeance and Your anger,

له تقوم ال ما اوهذ واألرض السماوات

And these cannot be

withstood by the heavens and

the earth.

O Master, so what about يب فكيف يسيد يا

me?!

الذليل الضعيف عبدك وأنا المسكين الحقير

المستكين

For I am Your weak, lowly,

base, wretched and miserable

slave.

يوسيد يورب يإله يا يوموال

My God! My Lord! My

Master! My Protector!

For which things would I أشكو إليك األمور ألي

complain to You?


And for which of them would يوأبك أضج منها ولما

I lament and weep?

For the pain and severity of !وشدته العذاب ألليم

chastisement?

Or for the length and period !ومدته البالء لطول أم

of tribulation?

للعقوبات يصيرتن فلئن أعدائك مع

So if You takest me to the

punishments with Your

enemies,

أهل وبين يبين وجمعت بالئك

And gatherest me with the

people of Your tribulation

أحبائك وبين يبين وفرقت وأوليائك

And separatest me from Your

friends and saints,

يوسيد يإله يا يفهبن على صبرت يورب يوموال

عذابك،

Then suppose, My God, my

Master, my Protector and my

Lord that I am able to endure

Your chastisement,

How can I endure separation فراقك على أصبر فكيف

from You?

حر على صبرت يوهبن نارك،

And suppose that I am able

to endure the heat of Your

fire,

إلى النظر عن أصبر فكيف كرامتك

How can I endure not gazing

upon Your generosity?

النار يف أسكن كيف أم عفوك يورجائ

Or how can I dwell in the

Fire while my hope is Your

pardon?

يوموال يسيد يا فبعزتك يتركتن لئن صادقا، أقسم

So by Your might, my

Master and my protector, I

swear sincerely, if You

leavest me with speech,


ناطقا

أهلها بين ليكإ ألضجن اآلملين ضجيج

I will lament to You from the

midst of the Fire's inhabitants

with lamentation of the

hopeful;

صراخ إليك وألصرخن المستصرخين

I will cry to You with the cry

of those crying for help;

بكاء عليك ينوألبك الفاقدين

I will weep to You with the

weeping of the bereft;

يا كنت أين وألنادينك المؤمنين ولي

And I will call to You,

Where art You, O Sponsor of

the believers,

O Goal of the hopes of Your العارفين آمال غاية يا

knowers,

O Aid of those who seek المستغيثين غياث يا

assistance,

O Friend of the hearts of the الصادقين قلوب حبيب يا

sincere

And O God of all the world's العالمين إله ويا

inhabitants!

يإله يا نكسبحا أفتراك، فيها تسمع وبحمدك،

مسلم عبد صوت

Canst You see Yourself —

Glory be to You My God,

and Thine is the praised —

hearing within the Fire the

voice of a slave surrendered

to You,

Imprisoned there because of بمخالفته فيها سجن

his violations,

عذابها طعم وذاق بمعصيته

Tasting the favour of its

torment because of his

disobedience,

أطباقها بين وحبس وجريرته بجرمه

And confined within its

levels because of his sin and

crime,


ضجيج إليك يضج ووه لرحمتك مؤمل

While he laments to You

with the lament of one

hopeful for Your mercy,

أهل بلسان ويناديك توحيدك

And calls to You with the

tongue of those who profess

Your Unity

And entreats You by Your ربوبيتكب إليك ويتوسل

lordship!

يف يبقى فكيف يموال يا سلف ما يرجو وهو العذاب

حلمك من

My Protector, so how should

he remain in the

chastisement, while he has

hope for Your previous

clemency?

وهو النار لمهتؤ كيف أم ورحمتك فضلك يامل

Or how should the Fire cause

him pain while he expects

Your bounty and mercy?

لهيبها يحرقه كيف أم وترى صوته تسمع وأنت مكانه

Or how should its flames

burn him, while You hearest

his voice and seest his place?

عليه يشتمل كيف أم ضعفه تعلم وأنت زفيرها

Or how should its groaning

encompass him, while You

knowest his weakness?

بين يتقلقل كيف أم صدقه تعلم وأنت أطباقها

Or how should he be

convulsed among its levels,

while You knowest his

sincerity?

زبانيتها تزجره كيف أم ربه يا يناديك وهو

Or how should its keepers

torture him while he calls out

to You, O Lord?

يف فضلك يرجو كيف أم فيها فتتركه منها تقهع

Or how should he have hope

of Your bounty in freeing

him from it, while You

abandonest him within it?


Far be it from You! That is بك الظن ذلك ما هيهات

not what is expected of You,

Nor what is well-known of لكفض من المعروف وال

Your bounty,

به عاملت لما مشبه وال برك من الموحدين وإحسانك

Nor it is similar to the

goodness and kindness You

hast shown to those who

profess Your Unity.

ما لوال أقطع فباليقين تعذيب من به كمتح

جاحديك

So I declare with certainty

that were it not for what You

hast decreed concerning the

chastisement of Your deniers

إخالد من به وقضيت معانديك

And what You hast

foreordained concerning the

everlasting home of those

who stubbornly resist,

بردا كلها النار لجعلت وسالما،

You wouldst make the Fire,

all of it, coolness and safety,

مقرا فيها ألحد كان وما مقاما وال

And no one would have a

place of rest or abode within

it.

أسماؤك تقدست لكنك من تمألها أن أقسمت

الكافرين،

But You—holy are Your

Names—hast sworn that You

wilt fill it with the

unbelievers,

,Both Jinn and men together أجمعين والناس الجنة من

المعاندين افيه تخلد وأنAnd that You wilt place

those who stubbornly resist

therein forever.

قلت ثناؤك جل وأنت باإلنعام وتطولت مبتدئا،

And You— majestic is Your

eulogy— said at the

beginning and wernt gracious

through kindness as a favour,


:متكرما

(What? Is he who has been

believer like unto him who

has been ungodly? They are

not equal)

فأسألك يوسيد يإله قدرتها يالت بالقدرة

My God and my Master! So I

ask You by the power You

hast apportioned

حتمتها يالت وبالقضية عليه من وغلبت وحكمتها أجريتها

And by the decision which

You hast determined and

imposed and through which

You hast overcome him

toward whom it has been put

into effect,

هذه يف لي، تهب أن الساعة هذه يوف الليلة،

That You forgivest me in this

night and at this hour

Every offence I have أجرمته جرم كل

committed,

And every sin I have أذنبته ذنب وكل

performed,

And every ugly thing I have أسررته قبيح وكل

concealed

And every folly I have عملته، جهل وكل

enacted

Whether I have hidden or أعلنته، أو كتمته

announced it,

Or I have concealed it or أظهرته أو أخفيته

manifested it

بإثباتها أمرت سيئة وكل الكاتبين الكرام

And every evil act which

You hast commanded the

Noble Writers to record,

ما بحفظ وكلتهم الذين مني يكون

Those whom You hast

appointed to watch over what

appears from me

,And whom You hast made مع علي شهودا وجعلتهم

along with my bodily


members, witness against جوارحي،

me.

علي الرقيب أنت وكنت ورائهم، من

And You wast Yourself the

Watcher over me from

behind them,

And the Witness of what is عنهم، يخف لما والشاهد

hidden from them

But through Your mercy You أخفيته، وبرحمتك

concealed it

And through Your bounty سترته وبفضلك

You veiled it.

كل من يحظ توفر وأن تنزله، رخي

[And I ask You] that You

bestowest upon me an

abundant share of every good

You sendest down,

,Or kindness You conferrest تفضله إحسان أو

,Or goodness You unfoldest تنشره، بر أو

Or provision You spreadest تبسطه رزق أو

out,

,Or sin You forgivest تغفره ذنب أو

.Or error You coverest تستره خطأ أو

My Lord! My Lord! My رب يا رب يا رب يا

Lord!

يوموال يوسيد يإله يا يرق ومالك

My God! My Master! My

Protector! Owner of my

bondage!

O He in whose hand is my يناصيت بيده من يا

forelock!

O He who knows my يومسكنت يبضر عليما يا

affliction and my misery!

O He who is aware of my يوفاقت يبفقر خبيرا يا

poverty and indigence!

My Lord! My Lord! My رب يا رب اي رب يا

Lord!

I ask You by Your Truth and وقدسك بحقك أسألك

Your Holiness


And the greatest of Your وأسمائك صفاتك وأعظم

Attributes and Names,

الليل يف يأوقات تجعل أن معمورة، كركبذ والنهار

That You makest my times in

the night and the day

inhabited by Your

remembrance,

And joined to Your service موصولة، وبخدمتك

And my works acceptable to مقبولة، عندك يوأعمال

You,

يأعمال تكون حتى واحدا، وردا كلها يورادوأ

So that my works and my

litanies may all be a single

litany

And my occupation with سرمدا خدمتك يف يوحال

Your service everlasting.

عليه من يا سيدي، يا يمعول

My Master! O He upon

whom I depend!

O He to whom I complain يأحوال شكوت إليه من يا

about my states!

My Lord! My Lord! My رب يا رب يا رب يا

Lord!

Strengthen my bodily يجوارح خدمتك على قو

members in Your service,

العزيمة على واشدد يوانحج

And fortify my ribs in

determination

يف الجد يل وهب خشيتك

And bestow upon me

earnestness in my fear of

You

تصالاإل يف والدوام بخدمتك

And continuity in my being

joined to Your service

يف إليك أسرح حتى السابقين يادينم

So that I may move easily

toward You in the

battlefields of the foremost


يف إليك وأسرع المبادرين

And hurry to You among the

prominent

يف قربك إلى وأشتاق المشتاقين

And desire fervently Your

proximity among the

fervently desirous

And move nearer to You with المخلصين دنو منك وأدنو

the nearness of the sincere

And fear You with the fear of الموقنين مخافة وأخافك

those who have certitude

مع جوارك يف وأجتمع ؤمنينالم

And gather with the believers

in Your vicinity.

بسوء يأرادن ومن اللهم فأرده

O Allah, whoever desires evil

for me, desire [it] for him!

-whoever deceives me فكده يكادن ومن

deceive him!

أحسن من يواجعلن عندك نصيبا دكعبي

And make me one of the

most excellent of Your slaves

in Portion from You,

And the nearest of them in منك منزلة وأقربهم

station to You

And the most elected of them لديك زلفة وأخصهم

in proximity to You.

إال ذلك ينال ال فإنه بفضلك

For that cannot be attained

except by Your bounty.

And grant generously to me بجودك يل وجد

through Your munificence,

And incline toward me with بمجدك علي واعطف

Your splendour

And protect me with Your برحمتك ينواحفظ

mercy!

And make my tongue بذكرك يلسان واجعل

remember You without


ceasing لهجا

And my heart enthralled by متيما بحبك يوقلب

Your love!

And be gracious to me by إجابتك بحسن علي ومن

answering me favourably,

And nullify my slips يعثرت يوأقلن

!And forgive my lapses يزلت واغفر

عبادك على قضيت فإنك بعبادتك

For You hast decreed Your

worship for Your servants

And commanded them to بدعائك وأمرتهم

supplicate You

And assured them that they اإلجابة لهم وضمنت

would be answered.

نصبت رب يا فإليك يوجه

So toward You, my Lord, I

have turned my face

And toward You, my Lord, I ييد مددت رب يا وإليك

have extended my hand.

يل استجب فبعزتك يدعائ

So by Your might, comply with

my supplication

And make me attain my يمنا يوبلغن

desires!

فضلك من تقطع وال يرجائ

Do not severe my hoping for

Your Favours

واإلنس الجن رش يواكفن يأعدائ من

And spare me the evil of my

enemies from among the jinn

and men!

O He, whose pleasure is الرضا سريع يا

quickly achieved!

Forgive him who owns إال يملك ال لمن اغفر

nothing but supplication


الدعاء

.For You dost what You wilt تشاء لما فعال فإنك

,O He whose Name is a remedy دواء اسمه من يا

And whose remembrance is a شفاء وذكره

cure,

And whose obedience is غنى وطاعته

wealth!

Have mercy upon him whose رجاءال ماله رأس من ارحم

capital is hope

!And whose weapon is tears البكاء وسالحه

!O Ample in blessings النعم سابغ يا

!O Repeller of adversities النقم دافع يا

يف المستوحشين نور يا الظلم

O Light of those who are

lonely in the darkness!

O Knower who was never يعلم ال عالما يا

taught!

وآل محمد على صل محمد

Bless Muhammad and

Muhammad's household!

And do with me what is أهله أنت ما يب وافعل

worthy of You!

رسوله على لهال وصلى آله من الميامين واألئمة

And Allah bless His messenger

and the holy Imams of his

household

And give them abundant كثيرا تسليما وسلم

peace!


Imam Jaa’far bin Muhammad As Sadiq (A.S.) had advised the faithfuls to pray a 2

Raka’t Namaaz tonight, after Ishaa prayers, as under: In the first Raka’t

recite Soorah Al Faatih’ah and Soorah Al Kaafiroon. In the second Raka’t recite

Soorah Al Faatih’ah and Soorah Al Ikhlaas.

When you accomplish the prayer, you may repeat (the phrase of) ‘sub¦anallah’

thirty-three times, (the phrase of) ‘al¦amdulillah’ thirty-three times, and (the

phrase of) ‘allahu-akbar’ thirty-four times. You may then say the following

supplication:

O He to Whom the servants

(of Him) resort in urgencies

يا من إليه ملجأ العباد في المهمات،

and to Whom the creatures

turn in ordeals;

وإليه يفزع الخلق في الملمات،

O He Who knows the open

and the hidden matters; يا عالم الجهر والخفيات،

O He from Whom neither the

ideas of illusions nor the

initiatives of delusions can be

concealed;

يا من ال تخفى عليه ف خواطر األوهام وتصر

الخطرات، O the Lord of creatures and

beings; الخالئق والبريات، يارب

O He Who grasps the

kingdoms of the earth and the

heavens;

يا من بيده ملكوت ماوات،األرضين والس

You are verily Allah; there is

no god save You; أنت، أنت الله ال إله إال

I thus try to connect with you

in the name of ‘There is no

god save You’ أنت، إليك بال إله إال أمت

So, O He save Whom there is

no god: (please) include me at

this night with those at whom

You have looked and thus You

have mercy upon them;

أنت اجعلني فيا ال إله إالرت ن نظيلة ممفي هذه الل

إليه فرحمته،


and with those whose prayers

have been heard by You and

thus You have responded to

them;

وسمعت دعاءه فأجبته،

and with those whose true

repentance has been admitted

by You and thus You have

accepted it;

استقالته فأقلته، وعلمت

and You have thus overlooked

their past sins and enormous

offenses.

وتجاوزت عن سالف خطيئته وعظيم جريرته،

verily, I am seeking Your

shelter against my sins,

فقد استجرت بك من ذنوبي،

and I am resorting to You so

that You may conceal my

defects.

ولجأت إليك في ستر .عيوبي

O Allah: (please) bestow

lavishly upon me with Your

generosity and Favor;

بكرمك فجد علي اللهم وفضلك،

and condone my misdeeds out

of Your forbearance and

pardon,

واحطط خطاياي بحلمك وعفوك،

and encompass me, at this

night, with Your opulent

honoring,

يلة دني في هذه اللوتغم بسابغ كرامتك،

and include me at this night

with Your intimate servants

whom You have selected for

obeying You,

واجعلني فيها من أوليائك ذين اجتبيتهم لطاعتك،ال

and whom You have chosen

for worshipping You, واخترتهم لعبادتك،

and whom You have made

Your elite and select people.

م خالصتك وجعلته .وصفوتك


O Allah: (please) make me of

those whose efforts are of a

happy end,

ن سعد اجعلني مم اللهم ه،جد

and those whose shares of

good things are big, ه،ر من الخيرات حظوتوف

and make me of those who

enjoy blissful life as they have

been safe (from sins) ن سلم فنعم،واجعلني مم

and those who have been

awarded excellently as they

have won, وفاز فغنم،

and rescue me from the evil

consequences of what I have

committed, ما أسلفت، رواكفني ش

and save me from doing more

acts of disobedience to You,

زدياد في واعصمني من اإل معصيتك،

and make me love the acts of

obedience to You and

whatever draws me near You

and approaches me toward

You.

عتك وما طا ب إليوحببني منك ويزلفني يقر

.عندكO my Master: a fugitive

resorts to none save You, دي إليك يلجأ الهارب،سي

and a needy begs none save

You, ومنك يلتمس الطالب،

and only on Your generosity

does a repentant, contrite one

depends

ل وعلى كرمك يعو المستقيل التائب،

You have disciplined Your

servants by means of

generosity; and You are verily

the most Generous of all those

who are generous.

م وأنت كربت عبادك بالتأد م األكرمين،أكر

and You have instructed Your

servants to pardon; and You

are verily the All-forgiving,

the All-merciful.

وأمرت بالعفو عبادك وأنت .حيمالغفور الر


O Allah: (please) do not

deprive me of Your generosity

for which I hope,

فال تحرمني ما اللهم رجوت من كرمك،

and do not make me despair of

Your opulent bounties,

وال تؤيسني من سابغ نعمك،

and do not disappoint me of

Your abundant sustenance that

You decide, this night, for

those who are obedient to

You,

بني من جزيل وال تخييلة قسمك في هذه الل

ألهل طاعتك،and include me with Your

protection against Your evil

creatures.

ة من شرار واجعلني في جن تك،بري

O my Lord: If I do not deserve

so, then You are worthy of

acting generously to me, and

pardoning and forgiving me,

إن لم أكن من أهل ربذلك فأنت أهل الكرم

والعفو والمغفرة،and (please) bestow upon me

magnanimously according to

that which befits You, not

according to what I deserve,

بما أنت أهله ال وجد علي ه،بما أستحق

verily, I carry an excellent

opinion about You, ي بك،فقد حسن ظن

and I do hope for You, ق رجائي لك،وتحق and my self is hanged to the

rope of Your generosity, وعلقت نفسي بكرمك

for You are verily the most

Merciful of all those who

show mercy, فأنت أرحم الراحمين،

and You are the most

Generous of all those who are

generous. .وأكرم األكرمين


O Allah: (please) confer upon

me exclusively with an

abundant share of what You

decide, out of Your

generosity,

واخصصني من اللهم كرمك بجزيل قسمك،

and I seek refuge with Your

pardon against Your

chastisement, وأعوذ بعفوك من عقوبتك،

and (please) forgive me the sin

that prevents me from

enjoying high morals,

ذي نب الواغفر لي الذ الخلق، يحبس علي

and suppresses my sustenance, الرزق ق عليويضي so that I will do that which

excellently achieves Your

satisfaction حتى أقوم بصالح رضاك،

and I will enjoy Your profuse

granting, وأنعم بجزيل عطائك،

and I will be delighted by

Your abundant bounties. وأسعد بسابغ نعمائك،

I am having recourse to Your

sanctity, مك،فقد لذت بحر

and I am asking for Your

generosity, ضت لكرمك،وتعر

and I am taking shelter in

Your pardon against Your

punishment,

واستعذت بعفوك من عقوبتك،

and in Your forbearance

against Your ire. وبحلمك من غضبك،

So, (please) bestow upon me

generously with that which I

have asked from You, فجد بما سألتك،

and confer upon me with that

which I have begged from

You, وأنل ما التمست منك،

I beseech You in Your name,

since there is nothing great

that You are.

أسألك بك ال بشيء هو .أعظم منك

You may prostrate yourself and repeat the following 20 times:


O my Lord! يا رب. And then repeat the following seven times:

O Allah! يا اهلل. And then repeat the following seven times:

There is neither might

nor power save with

Allah.

ة إالال حول وال قو .بالله

And then repeat the following ten times:

Only that which Allah

wants (will be). .ما شاء اهلل

And then repeat the following ten times:

There is no power save

with Allah. .بالله ة إالال قو

You may then pray Allah (swt) for sending blessings upon the Holy Prophet and

ask for settling your requests.


Salaah Isteghasa Imam Zaman

Recite 2 rakat salaah as given under

In each unit (rakat), whilst reciting Surah al-Hamd, when you reach at the verse:

“iyyaka na 'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in” (You alone we worship and You alone we ask

for help), repeat it 100 times and then finish the rest of Surah al-Hamd. Then recite Surah al-Ikhlas once.

During the genuflection (rukoo) and the prostration (sujud), the invocation (dhikr)

should be recited seven times.

After completing the prayer, the words “la ilaha illalah” (there is no god but Allah)

should be recited once. Later on recite the Tasbih of Sayyida Zahra [a] (the

daughter of the Holy Prophet [s]) which is as follows:

Allahu Akbar (Allah is Great): 34 times

Alhamdu lillah (All praise to Allah): 33 times

Subhanallah (Glory be to Allah): 33 times


Shaykh al-±£siy and Shaykh al-Kafàmiy say: It is suitable to say the following

supplication at this night; it is advisable to recite it after the Shaf prayer of Salatul

Layl.

ض لك في هذا إلهي تعر ضون،يل المتعرالل

O Allah: tonight the seekers of

favors, restless and eager, present

themselves to You;

the determined aspirers have You ك القاصدون،وقصد

in mind;

ل فضلك ومعروفك وأم الطالبون،

those who make requests look

long and attentively at Your

obligingness and kindness;

يل نفحات ولك في هذا الل وجوائز

You, in this night, give gifts,

bounties beyond measure,

,free donations, and favors وعطايا ومواهب

بها على من تشاء من تمن عبادك،

to those whom You will from

among Your servants when they

make a request,

ه وتمنعها من لم تسبق ل العناية منك،

and say no to those who do not try

to get in advance (remain behind)

for obtaining the bounties from

You.

,I, a modest needy bondman وها أنا ذا عبيدك الفقير إليك

am hopeful of Your obligingness ل فضلك ومعروفك،المؤم

and kindness.

لت فإن كنت يا موالي تفضيلة على أحد من في هذه الل

خلقك

Indeed if You, O My Master,

bestows a favor on any one, in this

night, from among Your created

beings,

ن وعدت عليه بعائدة م عطفك

and multiply profits and gains for

him out of love and affection,


دد وآل محمعلى محم فصلplease send blessings upon

Mu¦ammad and the Household of

Mu¦ammad:

رين بين الطاهرين الخييالط الفاضلين،

the pure, the immaculate, the

virtuous, and the righteous;

بطولك ومعروفك وجد عليand then let me have enough and

be contented on account of Your

liberality and obligingness,

!O Lord of the worlds العالمين، رب يا

د خاتم موصلى الله على مح ينبيالن

May Allah send blessings upon

Mu¦ammad, the seal of the

Prophets,

and upon his Household, the وآله الطاهرين

immaculate,

.and may He exalt them very much م تسليماوسل

verily, Allah is worthy of all .الله حميد مجيد إن

praise, full of all glory.

O Allah: I am praying You as You ي أدعوك كما أمرتإن اللهم

ordered me to do,

So, (please) respond to me as You فاستجب لي كما وعدت

promised.

verily, You never break Your .ك ال تخلف الميعادإن

promise.


Dua of Holy Prophet in Sajdah after Salatul Layl

Prostrating before You are

my body and my shadow

سجد لك سوادي وخيالي،

and my heart is in full faith

of You وآمن بك فؤادي،

These are my two hands

and this is what I have

committed against myself,

هذه يداي وما جنيته على نفسي،

O the All-great: You are

hoped for all enormous

things;

يا عظيم ترجى لكل عظيم

Please, forgive me my

serious offences اغفر لي العظيم

because none can forgive

the serious sin except the

All-great Lord.

نب العظيم ه ال يغفر الذفإن .العظيم بالر إال

The Holy Prophet (a.s) then raised his head and then prostrated himself again,

saying:

I seek the protection of the

light of Your Face that has

lit the heavens and the earth

ذي أعوذ بنور وجهك الماوات أضاءت له الس

واألرضون،and has removed all

darkness لمات،وانكشفت له الظ

and has made active all the

affairs of the past and the

coming generations

لين وصلح عليه أمر األو واآلخرين

against Your sudden

chastisement من فجأة نقمتك،

and against withdrawing the

good health that You have

granted me ومن تحويل عافيتك،


and against the vanishing of

Your bounties. .ومن زوال نعمتك

O Allah: (please) grant me

a heart that is pious and

pure,

ارزقني قلبا تقيا اللهم نقيا

and is released from

polytheism, رك بريئا ومن الش

and is neither atheist nor

unhappy. .شقيا ال كافرا وال

The Holy Prophet (a.s) then attached his face to the ground and said:

I am putting my face on

the ground

رت وجهي في عف راب الت

and it is my duty to

prostrate myself before

You لي أن أسجد لك وحق


Salaat Ja’far Tayyar


Imam Muhammad Al Baqir and Imam Ja’far Sadiq (A.S.) used to pray a 4 Raka’t

Salaat tonight as under:

In Every Raka’t recite Soorah Al Faatih’ah 100 times and Soorah Al Ikhlass 100

times After the Salaam recite the following dua’a:

O Allah: I am in need for

You, ي إليك فقير،إن اللهم

and I am fearful of You and

seeking Your shelter against

Your chastisement.

ومن عذابك خائف .مستجير

O Allah: (please) do not erase

my name, ل اسمي،ال تبد اللهم

and do not change my body, ر جسمي،وال تغي and do not increase my

ordeals, وال تجهد بالئي،

and do not make my enemies

rejoice at my misfortune. وال تشمت بي أعدائي،

I resort to Your pardon

against Your punishment, أعوذ بعفوك من عقابك،

and I resort to Your mercy

against Your chastisement, وأعوذ برحمتك من عذابك،

and I resort to Your pleasure

against Your wrath, وأعوذ برضاك من سخطك،

and I resort to You from You ،وأعوذ بك منك Enormous be the praise of

You ثناؤك جل

You are as exactly as You

have praised Yourself, أنت كما أثنيت على نفسك

and above all that which is

said about You. .وفوق ما يقول القائلون

It is worth mentioning that °ad¢ths have decided a great reward for him who offers

a one hundred Rakàh prayer at this night; in each Rakàh of which the S£rah of al-

Fati¦ah is recited once and the S£rah of al-Taw¦¢d is repeated ten times.



15th

of Sha`ban

On the fifteenth of Sha`ban, the twelfth Imam al-Mahdi, the Patron of the Age (¯a¦ib al-Zaman), was

born—may Allah (swt)’s blessings be upon him and his immaculate ancestors.

Recite the following ziyarah on this day:

بسم ٱلله ٱلرحمن ٱلرحيمIn the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

ـس .Peace be upon the Household of Y¡s¢n .سالم على آل ي

السالم عليك يا داعي ٱلله ورباني آياته

Peace be upon you, O caller to Allah and

interpreter of His Verses.

ب ٱلله وديان السالم عليك يا با دينه

Peace be upon you, O door to Allah and

applier of His religion.

السالم عليك يا خليفة ٱلله وناصر حقه

Peace be upon you, O viceroy of Allah and backer of His right.

ه ودليل السالم عليك يا حجة ٱلل إرادته

Peace be upon you, O Argument of Allah

and sign of His volition.

السالم عليك يا تالي كتاب ٱلله وترجمانه

Peace be upon you, O reciter of the Book

of Allah and its interpreter.

آناء ليلك السالم عليك في طراف نهاركاو

Peace be upon you at the hours of Your

night and the two ends of Your day.

رضهاالسالم عليك يا بقية ٱلله في Peace be upon you, O herald of Allah on

His lands.

له ٱلذي السالم عليك يا ميثاق ٱل خذه ووكدها

Peace be upon you, O covenant of Allah

that He has made and confirmed.

السالم عليك يا وعد ٱلله ٱلذي ضمنه

Peace be upon you, O Promise of Allah

that He has assured.


,Peace be upon you, O appointed pennon لم ٱلمنصوبيها ٱلعاالسالم عليك

,poured knowledge وٱلعلم ٱلمصبوب

.aid, and expansive mercy وٱلغوث وٱلرحمة ٱلواسعة

وعدا غير مكذوبThis is verily a promise that shall never

be belied.

م عليك حين تقومالسالPeace be upon you whenever you rise (to

undertake the mission).

.Peace be upon you whenever you sit السالم عليك حين تقعد

وتبين االسالم عليك حين تقرPeace be upon you whenever you recite and elucidate.

السالم عليك حين تصلي وتقنتPeace be upon you whenever you offer prayer and supplicate.

السالم عليك حين تركع وتسجد

Peace be upon you whenever you

genuflect and prostrate (yourself for Allah).

عليك حين تهلل وتكبرالسالم

Peace be upon you whenever you profess Allah’s Godhead and profess His All-

greatness.

السالم عليك حين تحمد وتستغفرPeace be upon you whenever you praise Allah and implore for His forgiveness.

سالم عليك حين تصبح وتمسيالPeace be upon you whenever you begin and end your day.

السالم عليك في ٱلليل إذا يغشىPeace be upon you in the night when it

draws a veil

.and the day when it shines in brightness وٱلنهار إذا تجلى

.Peace be upon you, O entrusted leader مونايها ٱإلمام ٱلماالسالم عليك

مولايها ٱلمقدم ٱلماالسالم عليك Peace be upon you, O favored and

expected.

السالم عليك بجوامع ٱلسالمPeace be upon you to the ultimate

meaning of peace.

,I solicit you, O my master شهدك يا مواليا

ن ال إله إال ٱللهاشهد اني اto testify to me that I bear witness that there is no god but Allah;

وحده ال شريك لهOne and Only Lord and having no associate,

ن محمدا عبده ورسولهاوand that Mu¦ammad is His servant and

messenger.


هلهاال حبيب إال هو وThere is no one more beloved by Allah

than him and his household.

شهدك يا موالياوAnd I solicit you, O my master, to testify

to me that I bear witness

مير ٱلمؤمنين حجتهان عليا اthat Àl¢ the Commander of the Faithful

is His argument,

,al-°asan is His argument وٱلحسن حجته

,al-°usayn is His argument وٱلحسين حجته

وعلي بن ٱلحسين حجتهÀl¢ the son of al-°usayn is His

argument,

ومحمد بن علي حجتهMu¦ammad the son of Àl¢ is His argument,

وجعفر بن محمد حجتهJa`far the son of Mu¦ammad is His argument,

,M£s¡ the son of Ja`far is His argument وسى بن جعفر حجتهوم

,Al¢ the son of M£s¡ is His argument` وعلي بن موسى حجته

ومحمد بن علي حجتهMu¦ammad the son of Àl¢ is His

argument,

وعلي بن محمد حجتهÀl¢ the son of Mu¦ammad is His

argument,

وٱلحسن بن علي حجتهand al-°asan the son of Àl¢ is His

argument.

نك حجة ٱللهاشهد اوI also bear witness that you are verily the

argument of Allah.

.You all are the first and the last ول وٱآلخرنتم ٱالا

ن رجعتكم حق ال ريب فيهااوAnd (I bear witness) that your (promised) Return is undoubtedly true

يوم ال ينفع نفسا إيـمانها“On the day when its belief avails not a

soul

,which theretofore believed not ن قبللم تكن آمنت م

”,nor in its belief earned good by works و كسبت في إيـمانها خيراا

,death is true ن ٱلموت حقاو

.and N¡kir and Nak¢r are true ن ناكرا ونكيرا حقاو

ن ٱلنشر حقاشهد اوAnd I bear witness that the Raising for death is true,


,the Resurrection is true وٱلبعث حق

,the Discriminating Bridge is true ن ٱلصراط حقاو

,the Watchtower is true وٱلمرصاد حق

,the Balance (of deeds) is true وٱلميزان حق

,the Gathering is true وٱلحشر حق

,the Reckoning is true وٱلحساب حق

,Paradise and Hell are true وٱلجنة وٱلنار حق

وٱلوعد وٱلوعيد بهما حقand the promise of Paradise and the threat with Hell are true.

موالي شقي من خالفكميا O My master! Certainly wretched is he

who opposes you

.and certainly happy is he who obeys you طاعكماوسعد من

شهدتك عليهافٱشهد على ما So, testify to me all that which I have

besought you to testify.

I am verily an ally of you نا ولي لكاو

.and denouncing your enemy بريء من عدوك

,The truth is only that which you accept فٱلحق ما رضيتموه

سخطتموهاوٱلباطل ما the wrong is only that which you disallow,

,the good is only that which you enjoin مرتم بهالمعروف ما وٱ

.and the evil is only that which you forbid وٱلمنكر ما نهيتم عنه

;My soul is thus believing in Allah فنفسي مؤمنة بٱلله

وحده ال شريك لهOne and Only Lord and having no

associate,

مير ٱلمؤمنيناوبرسوله وبand also in His Messenger, in the

Commander of the Faithful,

ولكم وآخركماوبكم يا موالي and in you all, O my master, from the

beginning to the end.

I have prepared myself to back you معدة لكمونصرتي


ومودتي خالصة لكمand my love is sincerely dedicated to

you.
