CLASS WILL, 1956

We the class of '56, obviously unsound in mind and body, but, thoroughly happy, reluctantly part with the following, our most

and beloved possessions, and pass them on to the coming

ninth grade:

Jae leaves to Sally her portable gym (Jim) for those few

pressed minutes before the game, while Barbara gives with

reluctance a few of Mr. Langstaff's favorite manuscripts to Celina. Nat gives to Bee a book appropriately entitled "The Birds and the Bees" and Anne BoIton-Smith abandons her

healthy, wholesome, American blush to Marjie. Marion leaves

her Ph.D for arguing to Judy, while Camilla leaves her four

octave laugh to Susy Sweenie. Robin kindly leaves a pedigree

to Anne Morton, showing that through great research Annie is

no relation to Mr. Morton, and Ellen leaves her hard-earned

Harvard letter to "Tiger" Huettig. While Belinda Breezes

through Anne's Palms, she leaves several coconuts so that

eventually there will be more little .Palms, and Diana leaves

her surplus of noise to Miss Loud. June leaves that envied

casualness to Cool Susie and Charlotte tearfully parts with

her exquisitely cultivated giggle to Angie. Carol Maxwell,

not a powder, not a grind, leaves her millions of tiny flavor

buds to Barbara Crawford as Marcia leaves her disgustingly

neat habits to Kathy. Cynthia leaves her long-playing

record "if you're lonely" to Vin, and likewise Rebecca tenderly parts with her autographed bird book PaTuf AtTica

pilluffoT The Common Man so that Marcia can relax with

some easy reading. Bunny charges Wendy with her Easter

egg, and Lucy simultaneously yields her sedative to Courtney.

Captain Pam leaves her ninety foot yacht in Janie's Pool

but warns there are mice in the hold. Martha leaves her

lower school feeding license to Anda so that she will be

safe from Sargeant Seth, and Betsy bequeaths her outgrown

elevator shoes to Jo. Paie leaves the camel which she shot

herself to Liz in case she ever has to patch her- polo coat, while Laura leaves her beloved permanent sun tan to Eleanor.

Anne Severy, more commonly known as "Harmonizing Hannah,"

presents her own album of the "Bearcats Quartet" to Liz

Coffman, and likewise Janet leaves her "I like Ike" pin to

another devout Republican, Patsy. Claire leaves her key

to the impossible to Roz, hoping she will follow in her foot

stel"s, and as much as she hates to part vvith them, Melza

leaves her many souvenirs from boys' schools to Bebe Dick

son. Nerissa leaves her membership card to the" Associa

tion for the Advancement of Pleasure Seekers" to Nancy,

in hopes that through this disciplined training she will

become another great American. Rebecca leaves a mega

phone to Louise so she can make herself heard, while Kathy

leaves her title of "Miss Perpetual Motion" to Beryl slo-cum.

Rica parts reluctantly with her appointment card to Dr.

Guggenheim Shnitzelfritzer, an eminent orthodontist, to

Carolyn, while Sarah leaves her Shapely Dictionary so that

Alice won't Fale. Eloise leaves her pamphlet of witty

basketball plays to Teddy; Lucy finally hands over to

Laura her secret solution, X-3 + ~MQW, for growing hair

quickly that she figured out practically all by herself with

a little help from her father, and Jae leaves her camou

flaged baby portable radio to Sandia in hopes that she will

never miss a game.

And for our smashing conclusion, we depart with our

last and most precious property, 35 tickets and free

parking to "Will Success Spoil the Ninth Grade?"
