    VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

    Position: Executive Director

    Job Description: Applications are invited from qualified, proactive and dynamic candidates with sufficient interest in

    and knowledge about current international relations for the position of Executive Director at NATO Internationa

    School of Azerbaijan (NISA).

    The Executive Director bears primary responsibility for overseeing daily operations of NISA and plays a key role in

    implementation of all NISA programs and projects. Applicants to the position of Executive Director which is of critica

    importance for NISA, therefore, must have good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well in a team as well

    as independently. Excellent communication skills are vital. The successful candidate must have very good

    organizational skills, high level of diligence, ability and willingness to work hard.

    Executive Director will be working with academic, government and non-governmental institutions, as well as relevant

    NATO structures in order to accomplish the main of NISA to provide a platform for exchange of ideas and

    experiences through international seminars and sessions, roundtable discussions, forums and executive trainings.

    Required qualifications:

    Education: Completion of at least a Bachelors Degree, in social and political sciences is required. An advancedDegree (Master Degree) in one of the above fields is preferable.

    Work experience: Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated progressively responsible experience in an NGO sector isrequired.

    Language Proficiency: Fluent written and oral English and Azerbaijani are required. Shortlisted applicants will beinvited to test their language proficiency.

    Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international relations, concepts, and practices. Knowledge of the politicalsocial, and economic structure of Azerbaijan and interest in Euro-Atlantic Security Affairs, NATO and major

    international organizations, in order to link the major goals and objectives.

    Skills and abilities:(a) Strong management and administrative skills;(b) Familiarity with software programs, databases, electronic mail, and website maintenance;

    (c) Good interpersonal and teamwork skills in order to work closely with volunteer teams, donors and partners;

    (d) Ability to deal with mass media in a very friendly and diplomatic way; and

    (e) Ability to speak in front of public.

    Work hours: 09.00 to 18.00, Monday through Friday. Lunch break is from 13.00 to 14.00.
