NL4600 is a softwall, “Crush proof” hose (springs back to original shape) that is used in automobile or diesel repair shops for transferring deadly fumes from vehicle exhaust pipes. This hose is manufactured with a specially formulated rubber compound designed to withstand intermittent temperatures up to +3160C (6000 ), t is a lightweight, exible, durable hose that is easily handled (upon special request a 30” or 11’ full length wire helix available on sizes 4-6” to prevent kinking, series NL460 ). ach size comes in 11ft lengths with one end ared to permit multiple lengths to be threaded together. To connect NL4600 series adapters to our previous NL4500 series hose, simply cut off the press-lock ends on the NL4500 series hose and screw on the appropriate adapter. NL4610 is designed speci cally for use on overhead reel type exhaust system applica tions in diesel repair facilities. NL4550 ‘rubber’ air brake is designed for compressed air brake systems on trucks and buses. This hose meets SAE 140 speci cations and D T regula-tion FMVSS-106 (anyone making brake assemblies must register with DOT and ensure each assembly complies with FMVSS-106). Rubber air brake hose is typically used where it will be subject to gravel, rocks, oil, vibration, etc. - whereas the NL560 series ‘nylon’ air brake is typically routed inside the frame where it will not be subject to debris, vibration, etc. The NL4550 is a standard hose and the NL4553 is designed for use in very cold environments down to -540C -650F (meets MIL-H-3 Type 1 Class 1). NL560 Eclipse air brake tubing is a lightweight, semi-rigid tubing used for air brake, instrumentation and accessory systems on trucks, trailers, buses and other commercial vehicles. Its unique high-grade, polyamide construction offers enhanced exibility over nylon tubing which allows for easier installation. Eclipse is also proven to offer superior abrasion resistance over traditional rubber or nylon11 ( ). It is avail-able in several colours for coding purposes (NL560 black, NL561 blue, NL56 green, NL563 orange, NL565 red, NL566 yellow, NL567 purple). All colours and sizes (except 1 8” size) meet SAE 844, 1131 494-3 and DOT FMVSS106 speci cations; this tubing is not designed for compressor discharge or other truck applications where high temperatures are encountered. Unlike other hose, this tubing is ordered by the outside diameter. Note: 1 4” Tubing is now supplied as Syn ex Solstice which is manufactured with proprietary thermoplastic materials in order to combat the shortage of nylon air brake raw materials.

This is a smooth bore te on hose with a 304 stainless steel cover that is com-monly used across a variety of industries. The below assemblies are typically used for compressor discharge on commercial trucks. Since the reinforcement is exposed and also acts as a cover, it is not designed for abusive or rugged environments. The E-Z Clip system is used in many industrial and automotive applications for Air Conditioning & Refrigeration. It is designed for assembly with Aeroquip GH134 Multi-Refrigerant hose. Its engineered connection exceeds SAE J 064 standards and has been vibration tested. For complete information on the E-Z Clip system please contact our customer service team .

Step 1: Cut the hose

Cut the hose to proper length using an appropriate cutting tool. Be sure the cut is made square to the hose length.

Step 2: Slip on two clips

Install two proper size clips onto the end of the hose. Orientation of the clips does not affect the performance of the connection. Howev-er for ease of assembly, both clips should have the same orientation.

Step 3: Oil the Nipple

Lubricate the nipple with a generous amount of the refrigeration or A C system’s compressor lubricating oil. This MUST be done to lower the force of nipple insertion.

Step 4: Insert the Nipple into the Hose

Insert the nipple into the hose. To ensure the nipple is fully inserted, check the gap between the cut end of the hose and the shoulder on the nipple. Care should be taken to avoid kinking or other damage to the hose during nipple insertion.

Step 5: Snap on the Cage

Snap the cage into the groove on the nipple. The arms should extend over the hose length. When the cage has been correctly installed in the cage groove, the cage will be able to rotate in the groove. This step MUST be performed to ensure:

1. The clips will be located over the O-rings on the nipple.

. The connection will be compatible with the connection’s pressure rating.

Step 6: Slide the Clips

Slip the clips over the arms and into the channels on each arm.

Step 7: Close the Clips

Use the FT1357 pliers to close the clips. The pliers should be positioned squarely on the clip connection points and should remain square during the closing of the clip.

STMNL 5 0 is a “textile reinforced” steam hose (max 1700C 3380F) designed spe-ci cally where a steel reinforcement is not suitable or desirable (standard steam hoses have a heavier steel wire reinforcement). This hose is also used with super-heated water, such as for certain cleaning operations or industrial coolant processes on machines, generators, or mobile equipment where a standard, lighter wall heater hose will collapse or kink. It is not a branded, SAE approved product for use in OEM commercial vehicles, trucks, or buses, however some users prefer its heavy duty thick wall over standard rubber heater hose. Its EPDM tube and cover is resistant to heat, ozone, anti-freeze, and weathering - EPDM rubber is not designed for abrasive or oily applications (Class C oil resistance). When installing silicone hose, N6 ET extended liner gear clamps will prevent the soft cover from tearing during clamping use. For larger sizes, use N68SL N75CT spring loaded T-bolt clamps to maintain holding power as the hose is subject to temperature uctuations. NL4878 Standard & NL4879 HD Silicone Charge Air Cooler hoses (also known as “Hump” or “CAC” hoses) are used to connect the turbocharger to the charge cooler as well as the charge cooler to the truck engine manifold. NL4879 HD incorporates recessed grooved ends and ared soft cuffs for greater clamp retention which is ideal for heavy equipment which has greater “kick back” pres-sure. Both NL4878 Standard & NL4879 HD are very durable, + 600C (5000F) heat and oil mist resistant sleeves that have humps and 3 external stainless steel restrictor rings for added support (1 hump, ring versions are available but costing dimensions are almost the same). These are used in the same applications as our NL4878 4879, however they have a special black viton coating to resist oil splatter or oil vapours (whereas plain silicone has limited resistance to oil). The uourocarbon lining eliminates closed crankcase vapors permeating through the sidewall of the intercooler connectors. They meet EPA 007 and EURO IV & V requirements for reduced emissions.

NL4877 are longer, relatively straight Turbo Air sleeves which are used when our standard NL4878 Charge Air Coolers are too short when connecting the turbo to the engine. They are NOT designed to transfer coolants or uids. They are specially constructed with high temperature resistant berglass fabric, and they will resist regular engine compartment splashes, ozone, and weathering.

NL4930 is for use on marine wet exhaust systems and meets or exceeds SAE J 006 R3 requirements. This is a thin, light duty, economical vinyl air vent or blower hose commonly used for bilge venting on boats (for a ame resistant hose see our NL6035 HTR Ducting). NL4970 is a exible, low pressure, hardwall corrugated coolant and marine wet exhaust hose (meets or exceeds SAE J 006 type R ) that provides a tighter bend radius and lower “effort to bend” as compared to our NL4975 Hardwall Marine Exhaust (which has a smooth cover). Its thinner wall permits easy clamping in con ned spaces and is designed for low pressure applications under 50 psi.
