Quality Circle Forum of India has great pleasure in inviting you for the 26th National Convention on Quality Concepts

scheduled to be held at I.I.T. Kanpur from December 17-20, 2012.

Kanpur Chapter, one of the premier chapters, has won the Best Chapter Award 7 times till now. This is the third time that

Kanpur is hosting the National Convention. It was in 1993 & 2006, the chapter organized the convention and the venue was

I.I.T. Kanpur. NCQC-93, Kanpur, became, in fact, a benchmark and a trend setter for future conventions to follow.

Incidentally, I.I.T. Kanpur has come to be linked with Quality Circles from the first Convention at Kanpur.

Kanpur is a major industrial and trading hub of Northern India. It is an important historical town. This is the birth place of

renowned people like Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi & the poet of "Vijayee Vishwa Tiranga Pyara", Shri Shyamlal Gupta

"Parshad". This has been the active center for the sowing of the freedom movement by the stalwarts like Peshwa , Tantiya

Tope, Sardar Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekhar Azad and others.

Kanpur is situated on the banks of the Holy River Ganga and is well connected with major cities of the country by road and

rail. Large number of tourist interest places can be visited from Kanpur. One can visit Lucknow, Kannauj, Allahabad,

Varanasi, Khajuraho, Agra, Mathura, Brindavan, Jhansi, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Nainital, etc. by positioning oneself at

Kanpur.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT", Kanpur) is one of the prestigious IIT's setup in the then industrial city of Kanpur in

1960. Today, I.I.T. Kanpur has grown into one of the top technological institutes in India, with primary focus on engineering,

science and management. Indian Institute of Technology is carrying out original research of significance in technology

development at the cutting edge. It imparts training to students to make them competent, innovative engineers and scientists.

The Institute not only celebrates freedom of thought, but also cultivates vision and encourages growth. It inculcates human

values and concern for the environment and the society.

The convention theme is ‘Inclusive Growth Through Quality Concepts’. It has been increasingly recognized today that

business excellence and competitive edge can be achieved only through one of the most important of the resources - The

Human Resource, the people behind the jobs. Working in teams produce much greater results than individuals. What better

way can there be than the Quality Team Concepts like Quality Circle, 5-S, Kaizen, TPM, etc. integrated with TQM and the

success story of many industries is based on implementation of these concepts.

We are keen to create in this convention a new milestone, a new benchmark in all respects. Based on the previous National

Convention's feedback from the participants, we are in the process of developing a practical, appropriate action plan to avoid

earlier pit-falls. We are confident that this convention will meet your expectations and provide value enhancement to all of

you, of course, with your cooperation. We are expecting around 8,000 delegates from Public / Private and also from Service

organizations like Public Utilities, Health Sector, etc.

We have great pleasure in extending once again cordial invitation to you and to your organization. We look forward to your

active participation in all the various segments of the convention and make it a grand success, because the convention cannot

be complete without you.
