It has been wonderful to see so many achievements happen for our students this term. One of the things I enjoy most is when students bring me their work to show me a goal they have achieved. Often it is something that might seem small to an adult but to that child it may be something they have been trying to achieve for a long time. These moments are priceless, to see the look of joy in that child’s face says it all. Hi All,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our students, families

and staff for all the hard work they have done this term. It has

been wonderful to see so many achievements happen for our

students this term.

One of the things I enjoy most is when students bring me their

work to show me a goal they have achieved. Often it is something

that might seem small to an adult but to that child it may be

something they have been trying to achieve for a long time. These

moments are priceless, to see the look of joy in that child’s face

says it all. Over the holidays take the time to ask your child about

the little achievements they have had this term and watch their

face as they tell you.

On Thursday and Friday of week one next term we will be

continuing our learning with the Berry Street Education model so

the school will be closed on those days. If you are requiring OSHC

for those days please let Melissa know as soon as possible as OSHC

will only open if we have enough students.

On behalf of all our staff I would like to wish you all a wonderful

break and Easter and look forward to seeing you again in term 2.

Regards,

Mandy Hackett

Term One in the Garden This year our students have been working very hard in their Kitchen Garden lessons, and the results have been amazing, especially with the extreme weather. Students have enjoyed harvesting our bumper fig, nectarine and apple crops, as well as some delicious summer vegies.

Around The World in Kitchen and Garden This year in Kitchen Garden lessons we are travelling around the world, enjoying the delicious cuisine and learning about the gardening techniques of the countries we visit. In Mexico we learnt about the Three Sisters legend, a system of growing corn, beans and pumpkin together. Although the plants are very different, they help each other by either providing support, protection from predators, shade the roots from the hot sun, or add nutrients to the soil. The Three Sisters Legend teaches us that although we are all different we are stronger together than on our own.

Market Stall Have you visited our market stall yet? Every Thursday after school we offer our excess fresh, organic garden produce and other garden goodies at great prices. All proceeds go towards our 50th Year Celebrations.
