hole assembly, Drilling Tools International pays

special attention to the quality and detail on all

of our drill collars. Our manufacturing process is

certifi ed to API Spec 7-1 our inventory includes:

• Slick

• Flex

• Spiral

• Pony

Non-MagNon-magnetic drill collars won’t interfere with

specialized electronics found in directional drilling

applications. Drilling Tools off ers non-magnetic drill

collars that are constructed from 4145 alloy steel,

heat treated to API standards with OD sizes ranging

from 3 1/8” to 11”.

The standard non-mag drill collar is 31’ and IDs

range from 1 1/4” – 4”. For corrosive resistance

shot peening is available, and for OD or ID

protection, hard-banding can be applied. Collars

are machined on one of Drilling Tools’ manual or

CNC machines with premium cutting tools. Drill

Collar API connections are regularly inspected during

and after the machining process for thread profi le,

lead, depth, taper and stand-off . Collars are generally

manufactured slick, but can also be spiraled or fl exed

based on specifi c needs. Short or Pony Collars are also

available as slick or fl exed.
