“I really enjoyed being at camp and getting close to God. At first I felt weird being there and I really thought every-one was crazy, being so happy. But now I’m happy to be

part of this family called Young Life.” - Whitney

There are no words to adequately describe our trip to Lost Canyon this summer. God did “over and above what we could ask or even think.” Every

morning as our leaders gathered for devotion time, we did very little to hold back tears, mixed with laughter of course, as each of us shared testi-monies of God’s goodness in meeting each of our high school friends right

where they were. I think the best way to describe this year’s trip is to let some of our high

school friends tell you about it in “their own words!”

“Before I came to camp, I didn’t really know much about God. Now I am going to embrace Him with open arms and try to stay on this path. I gave my life to Christ July 30, 2010.” - Moses

“This was such a great opportunity for me to have so much fun at Young Life camp. I had so much fun on the zip line and the blob! I loved hanging out with friends and getting the chance

to meet new people from around the country. I want to thank you most of all for giving me the chance to get closer to God. In this week, I learned the ways of God and the reason behind His actions. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to learn more about God. I just wanted to say that I finally have a relationship with God and I have accepted

Him into my life.” - Lucila

“Before I came here to camp, I did not expect to even attempt to seek God, but just to have fun and make new friends. While at camp, I opened up and began to feel the “want to” to change. Coming here has really changed my perspective on God and the way I should look at life. I really want to thank everyone involved for giving me this oppor-tunity to start a new journey for me in life.” - Jacinto

“Ever since I’ve been back from camp, I feel like a new person in-

side—no more weight on my shoulders. I’m feel-ing good about myself and my life. Anytime I start feeling down or something, I read “The Road to Real” bible

they gave us at camp. I’m so glad that I went to camp this year. It

was a life changing ex-perience for me.” - Sara

Camp 2010 - Stretching our Faith for Every Kid!

This 2010 camp season we had the honor to take 95 high school friends along with 10 awesome leaders to Young Life camp. We also took 19 of our junior high friends to Wyldlife Camp and 9 great leaders. This is a total of 114 kids to camp this summer! God is truly faithful! This has been a record year, at North Houston Young Life, for sharing Jesus with soooo many high school and junior high kids. I would like to thank everyone for letting the Lord use you to make this possible for so many kids that would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience Young Life Camp and find Jesus. You gave, you prayed, you BELIEVED! - Steve Elizalde—Area Director
