MAYOR’S CORNER
The Homecoming Festival was very successful this year! Thank you to all who
contributed that weekend!
We have a few more Bicentennial events taking place in October! The
Bicentennial Clam Bake and Golf Outing is Friday, October 2nd
. This fun 9-
hole outing at Springvale Golf Course is a scramble format with a shotgun start
at 4:30PM. Golfers will enjoy craft beer tastings on the course and have the
chance to win great prizes! After golf, ballroom doors open at 6:30PM with the
clam bake beginning at 7:00PM. Not a golfer? Don’t worry! Clam bake tickets
are $50 per person. Clam bake plus golf is $65 per person. Golf will be limited
to the first 72 registrants, so don’t delay! For more information and to register,

Bicentennial Arts Showcase is Saturday, October 10th at Great Northern Mall
from 2PM - 4:30PM. This amazing bicentennial event is hosted by Kenny
Crumpton from FOX 8 and features an opening performance by Brian Johnson

Landmarks: A Bicentennial Journey is on Sunday, October 11th
. Join us on
this engaging hop on, hop off tour of notable North Olmsted locations. Your
Bicentennial Journey will begin at the Frostville Museum where guided bus
tours will depart to visit many of North Olmsted’s most important landmarks
and historic sites. Expect a fun-filled afternoon with dramatic reenactments,
local historical artifacts and imagery, live music, refreshments and more. Kids
will enjoy children’s crafts and petting farm animals. Entertainment and food
trucks at Frostville will conclude this interactive trip through time.
Halloween Trick-or-Treat will be Saturday, October 31st from 6:00PM to
8:00PM. Please be extra cautious if you are driving that evening.

6th Annual International Food Cook Off

Please join us for this exciting annual fundraiser. Once
again, several local senior living facilities will be pre-
senting their best international dishes to gain your vote
and the trophy for Best Dish at this year’s cook off.
Will last year’s winner, Westlake Village, start a win-
ning streak? Will Emerald Village, who won 3 years in
a row from 2011-2013, take back the trophy? Or will a
new facility take home the win? The cost for the event
is $5 per person and all proceeds benefit the senior cen-
ter. Tickets will be available at the center. This event
will be held at the wonderful Springvale Ballroom.

Fresh Fruit (apple, orange etc.) 4. UNOPENED milk during the
winter months. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
All persons 60 and older are welcome to join us for lunch. A reg-
istration form must be completed and can be obtained at the
front desk. Once this has been completed and is on file, you may
sign up for any lunches that you choose. Please contact the
center for more details! This program was made possible by a
Grant from the Ohio Department of Aging through the Western
Reserve Area Agency on Aging. Please acquire your lunch ticket
at the sign in desk and be in your seats no later than 11:30am.

Please be aware that each individual is responsible for making his / her
own lunch reservation. Due to a limited amount of lunches that will be
ordered, reservations will not be made over the phone. Sign-up is always
one week in advance as the reservations are called in to the caterer on
Thursdays at noon.

We’ve even included time to visit the little Village of BERLIN, where you’ll find everything from cheese to antiques to ice cream. (Feel free to bring a cool-er to keep your items cold.)
Plus, we’ll enjoy a delicious family-style lunch at The AMISH DOOR Restaurant...bakery and gift shops too!

Sunday, November 29th - A VERY MERRY POPS! Enjoy a wonderful holiday afternoon with The CLEVELAND POPS Orchestra. Patterned after the fa-mous Boston POPS, our CLEVELAND POPS will perform vintage and modern classics at their annual Christmas concert to help kick-off your Holiday Season. We reserve main floor seats at the beautiful Palace Theatre at Playhouse Square (we actually hold our seats in June, to ensure our guests are on the main floor.) Our trip also includes a wonderful plated post-show dinner at the elegant Ballroom of the Wynd-ham Hotel. (This trip has sold out quickly the past SEVEN years, so gather your friends and make your reservation.)
