The plan is to be at the mini-gathering, I have it on my calendar for March 10.

Campbell, [email protected] I had a great Bday. Michael and I met Omar, who lives in Soquel, and his friend in Santa Cruz at the Beach Street Cafe for breakfast. I love Santa Cruz and so any chance I get to go - I'm there. ;-) The restaurant is filled (wall-to-wall) with Maxfield Parrish prints which is a "family thing" He used to paint my Great Grandfather who was his carpenter/model. Parrish had a summer home in New Hampshire very near to where my great grandparents lived. Ok, I know...enough. But needless to say it was fun to see my GreatGrandfather's face on all the walls. ;-) My Great Grandfather was in several of his paintings. Some of the paintings that look like him are The Kitchen Cook, Peter Pumpkin Eater, Puss In Boots, The End, and the Fisherman & The Genie.

I found this little blurb about my Great Grandfathe r online...

"Parrish's beloved and laconic" (of few words - to the point) "handyman George Ruggles, whom the artist considered a close personal friend and almost an alter ego, posed for a number of covers and ads." I'll look at March. Michael is Mayor again this year so we are up to our earlobes in City stuff. Talk with you soon. Claire

IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU SCAREY STORY….GOOD TIP

From Anonymous Classmate

I got my house broken into last month. They did a lot of damage and stole a lot of stuff. They got my big heavy steel box with my diplomas, passport, birth certs, discharge and all that stuff. It's just a pain in the ass replacing that stuff. To replace the passport I have to have my birth certificate and to get that replaced, I have to get my identity notorized. There are lists for both the cops and the insurance company and right away I had to replace the 2 doors and door jams they destroyed. My settlement is on the way from State Farm then I will have a bunch of other things I will need to do. They have a program where if I replace the stolen item they will pay the difference if I send them a receipt. The thieves got my good camera and my laptop. Luckily, they didn't want my desktop and I was able to use the internet to get some of this stuff done. I put the house back together the best I could the night it happened. I had just come home from work and probably just missed him or them. I think it was 2 people to get my steel box out of the place. I came home and saw my back patio light on and the gate wide open. Only one way to get that light on and that's from the inside. I

opened the big garage door and saw that the small one had been destroyed. I grabbed my softball bat and headed in but it was too late. I called the cops and it took them 30 mins to get there so those stupid alarm systems that call the cops are pretty much useless which I figured in the first place because all they do is call the cops and with the budget cut backs you are lucky anybody shows up. So with all the home invasions one of my purchases will likely be a weapon. I'm not going to be a statistic while I support these low life with my belongings. Funny thing was when I took my list of stolen items into the police department the lady asked me if I had told the officer that I wanted to press charges. I said, "Why isn't that automatic?" I guess there are people afraid of retaliation so they don't press charges. Geez, no wonder these fools keep doing it. I don't know how long it takes to process finger prints and shoe prints. I had them come back the second day when I found a big hand print on my kitchen window I knew was not mine. Bottom line/lesson learned: If you live in a wood frame house, if somebody wants to get into it ,they can. I am in the process of installing alarms. Cops tell me noise is the best security. I got one that has the equivalent sound of a 747. I still have much to do. They had completely trashed the house on the inside. It looked like a scene from "Hoarders" so a lot of it I had to just put back into closets and drawers so I have much to do. Seriously though I think it is a good idea to photograph everything you own. When I replace my camera I will be doing that. First at the room level all angles, then everything in every drawer or cabinet, and then individual things I wouldn't want to lose. It's really hard to remember everything. Just yesterday I realized a jewelry box that belonged to my aunt had been stolen. Luckily it was empty and had no real meaning to me. The stuff I really had trouble with was a ring of my grandmothers and some pre WWII ivory carvings that had been in the family. They covered the value I had on them but I purely took a guess they might have been worth double what I put down. Thank goodness for digital cameras.

that's my story.....

The birthday beat goes on….

list, I remember Gary Gilbert (1946-2006). Didn’t he get into a fight with Principal Kammann’s son Greg in sixth grade? Was not the son in our grade?

“My birthday was as wonderful as ever with my son and his fiance` coming home to celebrate along with my daughter and her husband and my two wonderful grandsons. It was very busy for me with the holidays and my children being home for 2 weeks. Then back to work on Jan. 3. Excited to see a mini-gathering again near me. I'm hoping that Gary and I can

make it to Visalia on March 10. Demetria Vellis, Turlock, [email protected]

WHO IS IT?

Vince Cagiumbal

Las Vegas Nevada, [email protected]

Here are most recent photos of me and my wife, Minnie. We have been married for 44 years and have two daughters, Melissa and Jenny. Both daughters each have two children and are both school teachers, receiving their degrees and credentials from Fresno State and USC respectively. Minnie went to Lompoc High in Lompoc, CA. She graduated in 1967 and attended Alan Hancock College. We met at a church-sponsored dance in Lompoc, while I was stationed at nearby Vandenberg Air Force Base in August, 1966. We married in November 1967 before my leaving for Vietnam in April, 1968. I retired from the Air Force after 20 plus years. After working various jobs, including owning a business in the private sector, I permanently retired here in North Las Vegas. Here, I enjoy the desert weather, the comforts of my own home and the excitement of being in a 24-hour tourist town. Minnie still works and is employed at nearby Nellis AFB as a retail manager. My family moved to Castroville from Radcliff, Ky. in March, 1963. As a junior at North Salinas High School then, I did not know many people in the area. I did hang

around with Rolando Verba ,

James Oania ,

Jim Rimando, Clay Layus, Minda Acaya, Ann Cerezo, etc. I remember having classes with

Jim McGauhey , Gail Kitaji , and others whose names now escape me. After high school, I attended Hartnell and various colleges and universities during my career in the Air Force, receiving degrees in Accounting, Business, and Electronics. I attended Golden Gate University for my MBA but fell hours short of graduation. I had brothers and sisters who went to North High .... even my daughter, Jenny graduated from North High in 1989. She was a starting point guard for the girl's varsity basketball team for two years. Also, my brother Tony an 81 NSHS grad , played starting nose tackle on the varsity football team.
