Happy Holidays from KBS Realty Advisors and the team at Cushman & Wakefield/

NorthMarq! It is hard to believe how quickly this year has gone by. 2015 has been a

very busy year for the crew at Northland Center with many changes and updates.

Below are a few highlights from this year:

Northland Center went thru a rebranding process this year.

A new website was created along with a dynamic building video. View the

videos at http://northlandcentermn.com/

The marketing materials for Northland Center have been updated and a

new monthly newsletter has been created, The Northland Insider. The

Northland Insider will improve building communication as well as

promote building, tenant and current events.

Finally, a new tenant handbook has been compiled which has a wealth of

valuable information, which can be viewed and downloaded on Property

Direct.

Fitness Center’s group exercise studio room will incorporate Fitness on Demand for

both group classes and individual use. This system will feature over a hundred exercise

programs that will be instantly available. Other improvements will include: all new

equipment, new lockers, updated finishes but the best feature is that the Fitness Center

GREEN/SUSTAINABLE ITEM

Looking for ways to Reduce, Reuse and Rejoice this Holiday

Season? Take a look at a few great tips below. If you missed our

first post about going Green this holiday season, you can still read

that post here.

Turn off or unplug holiday lights during the day. Doing so will not only save energy, but will also help your lights last longer Approximately 33 million live Christmas trees are sold in

North America every year. After the holidays, look for ways

to recycle your tree instead of sending it to a landfill. Check

with your community solid waste department and find out if

they collect and mulch trees. Your town might be able to use

chippings from mulched trees for hiking trails and beachfront

erosion barriers. Here in Louisiana, our trees get reused on

our wetlands to help with coastal erosion. Pretty neat!! To help prevent waste from cutting down and disposing of

live trees, you can buy a potted tree and plant it after the

holidays. When buying gifts, check product labels to determine an

item’s recyclability and whether it is made from recycled

materials. Buying recycled encourages manufacturers to

make more recycled-content products available. Bake cookies or other goodies and package them in reusable

and/or recyclable containers as gifts. Homemade goodies

show how much you care and help you avoid packaging

waste. After holiday festivities, put leftovers in recyclable containers,

and share them with family, friends, or others. donate whole

untouched leftovers from parties to a local food bank or

homeless shelter. After parties, fill your dishwasher to capacity before running

it. You will run fewer cycles, which saves energy.

Most of all, enjoy your times with your loved ones family and

friends… And don’t forget to carpool to and from whenever

possible!

TENANT FEATURE:

This month we interviewed one of our newest Tenant’s at Northland Center, JEC Miller. They have been here since June 2015 and are located in the 3600 building, suite 130. Please take a moment to get to know what they do and how

they have enjoyed their time so far at Northland Center.

We interviewed Chad Cornelius and here is what he had to say about the company and why they decided to make

Northland Center their home.

Chad (CC): JEC Miller, Inc. provides Supported Living Services to individuals with disabilities who require daily staff

presence to support them in providing for their daily needs.

NC: How long has JEC Miller been in business?

CC: JEC Miller has been in business 37 years. NC: How many employees are located at Northland Center?

CC: There are 7 administrative employees at Northland Center. 100 employees working in the community. NC: What made JEC Miller locate to Northland Center?

CC: Most of the individuals we were live in the south metro so Bloomington is an ideal location for our corporate office. We outgrew our previous office so as we were looking for a new space, there was something about Northland Center that we really liked. The atmosphere is professional and inviting and it seemed like a great place to work out of. We also really liked all the amenities.

NC: What type of community involvement does JEC Miller do/have?

CC: As a service provider, we assist people with disabilities getting out and engaging in our communities. Inclusion, of all people who live in our community is a big focus of what JEC Miller, Inc. does. It is so empowering for the individuals we work with to be out and be active in the communities they live in. They have a lot to contribute and it is a real joy to assist them in doing so. The real benefit that we all receive from interacting with people with disabilities in the community often times goes unnoted. We would encourage you all to make connections with people with disabilities when you are out and about. You won’t regret it? NC: Any other interesting facts or information you would like to share about your company?

CC: JEC Miller is unique because we take a very personal approach with working with people with disabilities. The owner of the company and the CEO both have siblings who were both with a cognitive disability and are currently receiving services. Having that very personal experience helps us design and implement services from a very person centered approach. 3600 American Blvd. W., Suite 130 Bloomington, MN 55431 952-881-4855 Phone 952-881-4735 Fax www.jecmiller.com
