NOTICE JICA POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund is inviting Namibian applicants to apply for Postgraduate Scholarship (Master’s Degree and PhD) o�ered by JICA- Japan.

PROGRAMME:The Postgraduate Programme (Master’s Degree and PhDs) are only available in the following Engineering areas: • Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) • Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering (MTR) • Industrial Engineering and System Management(IEM) • Material Science and Engineering (MSE) • Energy Resources Engineering(ERE) • Environmental Engineering (ENV) • Chemical and Petrochemicals Engineering (CPE)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: • Applicants must be Namibian citizens. • M.Sc. applicants must have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with more than 3 out of 4 in GPA. Very good in description, Second class upper in classi�cation, or equivalent. • An M.Sc Degree in Engineering (thesis based) is required to apply for a Doctoral Program. • M.Sc. APPLICATION PROCEDURES:1. Documents to be submitted: • Application form signed by applicant • Statement of purpose • Research proposal for applied degree • Copy of qualification e.g. Bachelors Degree etc. • Graduation project for undergraduate • Transcript of undergraduate courses with credits • Two (2) academic recommendation letters • Security application (University-designated form) • Certificate of health including blood test (University-designated form) • Copy of passport page with the applicant’s name and date of birth, valid for at least one year • Personal photo, size 4x6 upper half of body, full-faced, hatless, taken within the past 6 months.

FOR DOCTORAL PROGRAM APPLICANTS ONLY • Summary of thesis written for Master’s degree • Master thesis • Certificate of Master of Science in Engineering • Transcript of Master’s degree program

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING APPLICATION • If it is determined that your application documents contain any deliberate falsifications or forgeries, your application will not pass the examination. • Submitted documents cannot be returned for any reason. • All submitted documents should be printed in English; documents submitted in any language other than English must have English translation attached.
