Jett Yesterday, Year six hosted a movie day, where students watched a movie in class and got to dress up in either their pyjamas or casual clothes. Year 6 also got the chance to come to school dressed as either Oompa Loompas or Minions. In total, the Year 6 fundraiser made a staggering $1770. Thank you for all of your donations, it has helped a lot. We all hope that you enjoyed watching a movie and dressing up.

Caylum This week we interviewed Miss Levi, she is one of our amazing support unit teachers and teaches SL. Her favourite thing about this school is that the children of our school are so kind. We also asked Miss Levi to describe herself in three words and she said ‘busy, bright and interested’.

Jett She loves it when her students get that ‘light bulb moment’. Miss Levi had some trouble deciding what her favourite song would be, so she said it would have to be either Boy in the Bubble by Paul Simon or Walking on Sunshine by Katrina in the Waves.

Caylum Her favourite foods are cucumber, avocado and lasagne. We asked Miss Levi what her dream vacation would be. She told us that she would absolutely love to go to the Maldives, just like everyone!

Jett She grew up in Sydney, at Kirrawee on the south side of Sydney. In Miss Levi’s spare time she does a lot of gardening, laying on the beach with an umbrella because like most of us, she doesn’t like to get sunburnt.

Caylum She also has a pond that she made with a bath and has a friendly blue tongue lizard that lives in her backyard with the insects. We hope that you liked learning a bit more about Miss Levi.

Caylum This week is the last week of Term 3 and we hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday. Thank you for listening to our Leaders’ Report and please stay safe during the holidays.

Sports Leaders’ Report – Kayla H Benny A Benny On behalf of the sport leaders Kayla and I will be giving you this week's sport leaders’ report. We hope you enjoyed the basketball and gymnastics sporting skill sessions. It has been great to see everyone giving both sports a go and encouraging others. Kayla Thank you to Lonnie and Emily, the basketball coaches for supplying us with drink bottles. A special mention to Mr True for organising these activities for all of the students. Mr True has also ordered new skipping ropes that should be coming next term. Benny Just a reminder for all students to use school equipment properly. Thank you for using the skipping ropes appropriately and remember to use them in the P2 playground only. Mr True acknowledges that we didn't do the athletics carnival this term due to COVID but we will be trying to do it next term. Kayla Year 5 has been working hard to show leadership potential. If any Year Fives would like another opportunity to set a good example, the K-2 kids would love it if you would play some games with them at lunchtime, like refereeing soccer or playing hand ball. Come and see the sports leaders if you would like to take up this opportunity. Benny We hope everyone has a great holiday. Kayla Thank you.

HSPS Athletics Carnival As the restrictions for school activities have changed, we will be holding a modified athletics carnival at the Fearnley Dawes Athletics Track next Tuesday 20 October 2020. This carnival is only for students in Years 3- 6. K-2 students will participate in their own carnival at school on this day. More information will be provided this week about these events. Please Note: Parents and carers are unable to attend either of these events due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Kindergarten Orientation We are currently planning and organising our Kindergarten 2021 program. A wonderful video has been created for our new Kindies and their families. We will be sending out the link shortly. Other activities are currently being finalised. If you have a child who is starting Kindergarten next year and you haven’t let the school know, please give us a call ASAP. If you know of new families whose children will be coming to HSPS in 2021, please ask them to contact the school. The Canteen We are so excited that the canteen is coming back this term. There will be a couple of changes to our normal canteen:

• Canteen days have changed Monday, Tuesday, and Friday • We are offering a reduced menu • Our beautiful volunteers are not allowed to help yet • Starting from Monday 19 October for LUNCH service only. However there will be no
