No. :-GP-11-MCG-1017-SFS-J:- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub­

section (1) of section 20 read with section 4 of the Gujarat Professional

Medical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of Admission and

Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007 (Guj.3 of 2008) the Government of Gujarat hereby

makes the following rules to provide for the constitution of the Admission

Committee to regulate the admissions of the students to the to the first year of the Professional Post graduate Medical Educational Courses, namely:-

I. Short Title and Commencement :- These rules may be called the Admission Committee

for Professional Post Graduate Medical Educational Courses (Constitution and Function) Rules, 2017.

2. Definitions.- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires;

(a) "Act" means the Gujarat Professional Medical Educational Colleges or Institutions

(Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007 (Guj. 3 of 2008and Act 13 of2016);

(b) "Admission" means admission of candidates to the first year Post graduate Medical

Course(MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) in the Professional Post Graduate Medical

Educational Institutions;

(c) "Committee " means the Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate

Medical Courses under section 4 of the Act.

1. The words and expressions used in these rules but not defined shall have the same

meanings as assigned to them in the Act.

2. Constitution of Committee ( 1) For the purpose of admission of student to the professional

post graduate . colleges or institutions imparting professional medical educational

courses(MD/MS/Diploma and MDS), there shall be constituted a Committee called " the

Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Courses".

(a) Commissioner of Health, medical Services and Medical Education (b) ChiefExecutive Officer, GMERS, Gandhinagar (c) Dean, Government Medical College, Bhavnagar (d) Dean, NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad

3. Function of the Committee:-

(i) The Committee shall conduct, supervise, monitor and control the entire process of

admission of the students seeking admission in the Government seats, Management Seats

and NRI seats of professional post graduate medical courses. The headquarter of the

Committee shall be Gandhinagar.

(ii) The Committee shall cause to prepare the merit list in accordance with provision of

the Act and the rules made there under.

(iii)The Committee shall ensure that admission on the Government seats , management

seat and NRI seats are made as per the merit list prepared and that no student is

admitted against the any seats unless his name appeared in the merit list.

(iv)The Committee shall perform such other functions as may be assigned to it by the

State Government.

4. Power of Committee:- In discharge of its functions under the provisions of the Act and

the rules made there under, the Committee shall exercise such powers as are conferred

upon it under the provisions of the Act and the rules made there under.
